- diggerydood, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32Let send Kristol out to the War Zone in Iraq with our soldiers. We'll find out who the real cry baby is!
- jp58, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26I will dig deep into my own pockets and gladly send Mr Kristol on a plane to Iraq (coach class, unfortunately, unless someone else can pony up a bit more money for an upgrade to first class) with the opportunity to spread his message of hope and freedom to all of the misguided Iraqis and help them see the light. You only have to say the word, Bill, and a free ticket is yours for a wonderful three week vacation in the cradle of civilization. Unfortunately all rooms in the "Green Zone" Inn are booked, but we can surely embed you with some fine young American men and women for a few weeks and you can spread your message of love and joy to all of them ,too.
- Onebaseman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23Kristol has never served in the military. He also has no qualms about posturing to show his supposed toughness while agitating to send other people's kids to die for his own selfish political interests.
I wonder if he'll ever meet a war he doesn't like. - geronimo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19The guy is a snake, witness this interview with Colbert, he shrivels up when you expose him:
http://prisonplanet.com/articles/april2006/290406Colbert.htm
Colbert: Speaking of thinking alike, you were a member, or are a member of the New Project for the American Century, correct?
Kristol: I am.
Colbert: Were or am, am?
Kristol: Were and am.
Colbert: How's that project coming?
Kristol: well. it's..(stammering)
Colbert: How's the New American Century, looks good to me?
Kristol: Ahh--I think...hehe yea--I'm speechless..
Colbert: Really?
Kristol: Yea...we've sort of...the Project for the New American Century is just a few people..
Colbert: Come on, it’s a terrific New American Century, right?
Kristol: Well I think we do OK.
Colbert: You Rummy Wolfowitz, Cheney, Pearle, Feith, all you guys right?
Kristol (responds timidly): Well, we fought back after 9/11..
Just watch as Colbert turns every argument Bill has made about the Iraq war around on his head. As Pac says: "He left Kristol smoldering in ashes." - gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21i'd like to see Kristol with tar and feathers on display at the Brooklyn Zoo.
just one mans dream, just one mans dream . . . - feelmydisease, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Kristol is another treasonous rat who helped push this country into a disastrous war that compromised our integrity in the world arena and should be held accountable in the most severe fashion!
- MScoutsDCI, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16This coming from the guy who said before the war that Sunnis and Shi-ites didn't really have a problem and it was a "a sort of pop psychology."
He discredited himself long ago. - EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16He's nocturnal, as are all true neocons.
They come at night, mostly. - Szandor, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15He and Rush share huge bottles of vicodin and oxycontin.
- Arkonnan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10I'd expect nothing less from a douche bag like Kristol.
- gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10i love that one. possibly my favorite Colbert moment. and a good reason why both political partys are scared as all hell of him.
- mjl5629, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Wow. Colbert nailed him
- Masterbaiter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Upside down? Since their world view is so much more differently than everyone else's.
- toddcat, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10How does Bill Kristol sleep at night?
- littlebylittle, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I'd like to see Tenet and Kristol in an Ultimate Fighting Cage Match. No one gets out until someone's knocked out.
- ichbinladen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I would LOVE to see Bill Kristol fighting for his life in Baghdad. Then he can experience firsthand that "myth" that Sunnis and Shias can't get along.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Take for example the "Barack the Magic Negro" story linked to on C&L. They failed to put it into context at all. Rush was making fun of a black LA Times writer who penned a column by the same name, but C&L conveniently forgot to mention that and instead wondered why Don Imus was fired and Rush still on the air.
In that instance C&L knowingly mislead its readers... Their agenda is not to inform, but to make Republicans look bad and Democrats look good. Not a very honorable agenda. . - zweben, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7I'd be glad to pitch in for him and any family members he'd like to bring with him.
- whygohome10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah... He WOULD say that...
- Shaman760, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Chickenhawks -R- Us is in full swing.....
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Post revolution, when it's time to set things right... Kristol will be very close to the front of the line of people meeting their just deserts.
- kevdrum, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4antifederalist is absouletly correct. this guy Kristal was on c-span the other day. how can they keep holding this guy up as some sort of expert when he has been continually wrong at every occasion? the american standard has a circulation of about 80,000. nobody reads it. no one ever has. what makes this maniac an expert? who keeps funding him to spout his incorrect philosopy? why are they still giving him air? he should be suffocated.
- bg785, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3wow. after seeing bill moyers' documentary in which he played tape of kristol before the iraq invasion spouting complete ***** about saddam and bin laden and weapons of mass destruction, i am aghast that he can actually live with himself, let alone criticize those who knew he was full of *****. and how is it conceivable that we are living in a world today in which some such as bill kristol, who was flat out wrong about EVERYTHING concerning Iraq, can even begin to criticize someone who, it turns out, was completely right??????? remember people tenet was essentially following orders. he was not allowed to dissent. that is his job. so to hear the truth now from him, tells us what he was thinking all along. god the nerve of these guys is uncanny. they really do not let the TRUTH get in the way of their beliefs. then again he was on fox news.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3
HE LOVES IT!!!
Again, Bill Kristol is the type of guy that loves the pain of the "White Mans' Burden."
To Bill Kristol, you must create cluster *****, watch them implode, and then muse on how sad it is that the Sand ***** will never be quite fully human.
Same goes for _regular_ ***** and also "Beans" - the people from Central and South America.
Wonder what dictator they're arming now - today? Wonder who we'll be calling inhuman in a few months or years that we're now selling weapons to?
Oh, I'm sorry: _we're_ not selling weapons ... the weapons dealers are selling weapons and not the US gov't ... the gov't just uses our tax dollars to help. - Kmack928, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Kristol is a Chickenhawk.
Those cowards who pine for war, yet have never served in the military, make me sick. - saigumi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3That's odd. I'm pretty sure that Clinton did say that Iraq had ties to al-Qaeda and that it was hiding WMDs. Heck, even bombed the heck out of the place for that reason.
How could this have been forgotten in 9 years? I guess we all just remember things and shape history to be convienent. Or is it that most diggers were only 9 back then?

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=clinton+iraq+1998 - EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5@macktwo, bigot much? You're full of ***** as usual.
- ichbinladen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The war he has to fight in.
- gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2good point with the fox news/AP example. Fox news has burned their credibility to the point that not many people will listen to them on anything. crooks and liars will do the same if they're not careful. and from your example they don't seem to be. but the question still stands - did you bring up the 'out of context' angle? straight burying anything is counter productive. in my opinion of course. because the pack mentality will just pop up somewhere else. point out why the story is out of context and the larger issue at hand and let people decide for themselves. this is a much more difficult process than just saying '***** it' and dismissing it. but at least you might get a couple of people to rethink things. which is better than no one, no?
- gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3i'm not a democrat. i don't care where it's from. what's the content? why be concerned about the website that carries the link? crooks and liars is just a collection of links like little green footballs. the content is rarely, rarely original. by this rationale why do you go to digg? why don't you just go to the original source of whatever it is you're interested in?
- EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5"I'd like to see Tenet and Kristol in an Ultimate Fighting Cage Match."
I agree about Tenet, Kristol and a locked cage. But I think the fighting part might get boring after, say, 30 years. - gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2do you rely on the media to put things in context for you ?
they are awful at it. did you go to the comments section and bring that up as a topic of conversation? i hope so. that is an important aspect of the story. and should be discussed. all the more reason to keep the ***** out of context story around to point out how ideas are bought and sold. do you think people go around digging every story that comes from crooks and liars or do you think they only digg the one's that interest them. i don't think people are that herd-like but i can't back that up with paperwork. ***** i hope they aren't. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Not to be confused with Billy Crystal, i know some of you were thinking that. yah you were, dont kid yourself.
- gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3god forbid people show an interest in politics. we should really get some more nintendo wii stories. or top ten lists. or anna nicole smith's babies daddy tales. or britney spears. or any comic book movie. etc. etc.
- RacerX10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I didn't see any of this, but I'm inclined to believe that Tenet f@#$'d - up !
Why isn't this this issue ? - gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why put your money into it? he can swim.
- stepnw1f, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Another big mouth limp wristed chickenhawk lying *****. May the spirits of those lost in this war and from 9-11 haunt your chickenhawk.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I'd say, given that most digg stories come from the same sources and that most digg users are of the same political persuation that yes there is a "pack mentality" here. It's human nature to follow the crowd...
I don't rely on the media to put things into context for me, but I sure do rely on them to report enough information for me to know what's going on. When a media source as blatantly demonstrates its untrustworthiness as Crooks & Liars did with the "Barack the Magic Negro" story, it's worthless. This site does nothing but bash Republicans and do its best to make liberals look good, and I'd think that in itself would be enough for someone with a skeptical mind to take this site with a huge grain of salt, regardless of whether they agree with Crooks & Liar's agenda or not. You see more outrage from diggers when an AP story hosted on foxnews.com makes the front page than you see from this. For the same reason I'd expect diggers not to rely on stuff like the Limbaugh Letter for more than a small percentage of their political news I'd expect them to take Crooks & Liars in much smaller doses. - gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1you nailed it. it's the new imperialism, and common people of all races (including us crackers) aren't the benefactors.
- surlygrad, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yea, he was so mediocre but kristol's favorite president still gave the guy a medal of freedom.
- jdibiase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It seems a lot has been forgotten, and not even from as far back as the Clinton administration ... Does anybody here remember that Iraq was in complete non-compliance with numerous resolutions of the United Nations, and that in November, 2002, the UN stated, in part (see, http://www.un.int/usa/sres-iraq.htm) ...
"Recalling that its resolution 678 (1990) authorized Member States to use all necessary means to uphold and implement its resolution 660 (1990) of 2 August 1990 and all relevant resolutions subsequent to resolution 660 (1990) and to restore international peace and security in the area ..."
I'm not sure why this has been forgotten. Iraq has been a nightmare for years. Prior to the current war, it was nearly universally believed that Iraq had and was developing WMDs, Iraq did everything possible to further that belief, and despite months of discussion, inquiry, warnings, etc., refused to comply with the world's demands. - neplusultra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Count me in too. I have a few nickles and dimes That I'd love to contribute to such a worthy cause.
- stepnw1f, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Aha... another diseffected republican who can no longer defend their own party, yet still trying to blame the Dems and Clinton. Nice try... Lolololol..... Like I said on another thread, watch a good portion of the puke party become Libertarian over night just for the sake of debate, because they'll never accept responsibility for being such retarded fools and for voting for the criminals we see today in the GOP who have undeniably failed America. You can change your colors, for they will always run yellow.
BTW - Clinton didn't help create Al Queda, but your boys in the GOP under Reagan and Bush Sr. did. That's a fact. Funny how you your President still can't find Bin Laden. Now go hide under a rock where you belong. - keitho, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2When you can't attack the evidence, you attack the character.
- Kmack928, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Operation Desert Fox destroyed any capabilites Saddam had for making WMDs. Clinton did what the Bush administration tried to do years before Dubya took office.
Look at it this way, when Clinton took office, Saddam had WMD's (biological and chemical) and was trying to make more, including nuclear devices. When Bush took office, and launched his invasion of Iraq, it was found out that despite thier claims, Saddam didnt have any WMDs.
So lets see, unless the programs fell apart by themselves, and all the materials dissappeared, we can logically assume that during the Clinton era, saddam was disarmed. - BaoShen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What about those who awarded this "incompetent dolt" the medal of freedom? If they reward such incompetence, what does that say about thier competence?
- sdbytnar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@stepnw1f
I'm glad you actually read my comment. Did you miss the part where I said, "I hate Dems and Reps equally."? Yes, I was a Republican, but not a neo-con like you try to make me out to be. And I never said Clinton helped create Al-Qaida, that was failed teachings of Islam. I was simply referring to 3 separate terrorist attacks against the United States under Clinton's watch, for which he did nothing. Clinton had several opportunities to apprehend and/or kill Bin Laden, but he's still alive. Your president could find him but didn't have the balls to do anything about it. So please continue baffling with ***** and grossly misrepresenting what other people say. Have a great day. - sdbytnar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If Clinton had done his job we would still have the WTC and wouldn't be in Iraq. Who was in the White House and did nothing for the first WTC attack?, the USS Cole?, the embassies in Africa? It certainly wasn't Bush and it wasn't a Republican either. So, thanks Clinton for putting us where we are today.
ps. I hate Dems and Reps equally. But fair is fair.
Ron Paul 2008! - stepnw1f, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@sdbytnar,
Actually, I represented you perfectly.... your perverted memory of what happened in the 90's tells me you watched way too much FOX and listen to way too much right wing radio or you are just another bad liar who hates Clinton and any democrat.
Clinton really did nothing? Well I researched and found out your talking point is just that and a complete lie. He did go after Bin Laden and when he tried your political party tried to stop him from doing so. You'll remember "Wag the Dog", and when he ordered a bombing of Afghanistan your political party smeared him intentionally saying he blew up a medicine factory and killed a bunch of civilians. Boy o boy was Clinton a bad man for trying to kill Bin Laden....So when you state he did nothing you are a ***** liar. He tried like hell, but your political party was more concerned with ruining the man's career from day one so you could revise 75 years of progress in this country to enrich the republican elite and to finally destroy the "New Deal".
From reccords we know Clinton made terrorism his number one priority and even had his administration warn Bush to do the same after they left. What did Bush do with this info? He ignored it along with the rest of his administration and used 9-11 as an excuse to invade Iraq without going after Bin Laden. Who ordered the air force to stand down when those planes were still in flight????!!!!!! Wasn't Clinton. Who sat in a class room while the trade towers were hit? It wasn't Clinton..... Who ignored warnings of an attack? It wasn't Clinton. Who flew the Bin Laden family members from Texas to Saudi Arabia? It wasn't Clinton. Whose family did business with the Bin Ladens? It wasn't Clinton.
Even Clinton had the nads to admit on TV he failed to capture Bin Laden, and he didn't even have to. Any decent President would do the same to be fair to the current President.... Bush was the President during and after 9-11 and still no Bin Laden, and when he had a chance to go after Bin Laden, he invaded Iraq! Let's not forget Tora Bora and how Bush let Bin Laden get away. Does Bush admit failing too???????? NOOOOOOOOO..... because people like him and yourself can't handle the truth. I don't think Bush has admitted once of doing anything wrong, so goes the right wing mentality in denying truth and lying to justify your own inadequecies.
Well here is that truth you hate so much:
