- arrogantprick, on 11/30/2007, -4/+68Oh, I get it; Bomb Iraq, free pass. Bomb Iran, threat of impeachment.
- Damian91, on 11/30/2007, -3/+66Hmm you mean to tell me people would actually impeach a president the second he starts a war? How about do it now Biden, Jesus Christ...
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -5/+47Weak sauce is better than no sauce. Thanks Joe, I guess. Keep searching, you may find your wedding tackle eventually.
- deepdiggdude, on 11/30/2007, -0/+37Just ONE more war and you're impeached, buddy! I'm serious this time!
- Calann, on 11/30/2007, -4/+34way2 does make a good point. Bush has invaded another country under false pretenses, condoned torture and has locked away hundreds of people for years with no trials or even access to lawyers. Yet he has not been impeached. Clinton got a BJ from a consenting adult female and he was impeached. This shows how whacked out many people's priorities are.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -1/+28what a bag of wind. how about you PREVENT the war. once he starts it, Biden will roll over like he does now. completely empty threat from a spineless hack.
- MDKAOD, on 11/30/2007, -1/+15Basically turns into "*****, um, sorry about that Iran, we're going to take care of him. Bad George. BAAAAAD. That's a no no."
- spyd3rweb, on 11/30/2007, -1/+12If he bombs Iran, impeachment will be the last thing we have to worry about....
- griz, on 11/30/2007, -0/+11HEY! Don't make me turn this country around!!
- TheIguana, on 11/30/2007, -3/+14Just ***** impeach Bush and Cheney already. You would think this would be simple, president/vp break the rules, president/vp get impeached. Enough said.
- TwistedSheep, on 11/30/2007, -1/+11Only ***** base their vote on similarities between people's names. Unfortunately, there's a ton of ***** in this country...
- inertkinesis, on 11/30/2007, -0/+10Calann -- your point is good, but I don't think that's what way2 was trying to say. I'm gonna have to go with bangor and say way2's offensively stupid.
- badqat, on 11/30/2007, -2/+12Oh, it's a bag of wind alright...because the Senate doesn't impeach...they simply hear the trial after the HOUSE impeaches a president.
- inactive, on 11/30/2007, -3/+12What the ***** is wrong with our government?!?
Bush has no Constitutional right to "authorize" bombing ANYONE without Congressional approval - IT'S UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Our government is going to ***** and our elected representatives continue to bend over and take it. WAKE UP!
BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE! - emmeron, on 11/30/2007, -2/+11Couldn't have said it better. I'll try to say it on equal terms: If there was sexual impotency in the world like political impotency in Washington, world-wide we'd have thirty people left. Glad someone can actually act on... anything not directed by the administration.
- HypocriteDigg, on 11/30/2007, -4/+13Why is Iran any different from Iraq? He should be impeached for the 100,000+ innocent people he's already killed.
- orelses, on 11/30/2007, -1/+10At least Biden voted against the somewhat recent act to call the Iranian guard a terrorist group. Unlike Clinton who voted FOR and Obama who didn't vote at all. Biden can't help but speak his mind most of the time. And I kinda of like that.
- FloppyLlamaDigg, on 11/30/2007, -1/+10Not a waste. It would show future administrations that at least one of congress' balls has dropped. It would also enlighten a LOT of Americans.
- RyanBlueThunder, on 11/30/2007, -3/+12Clinton got a BJ from a consenting adult female and then LIED UNDER OATH. Big difference. I liked Clinton, but I know the difference. As much as I hate the war in Iraq, you are not being intellectually honest if you claim that all Clinton did was get a BJ.
There's a reason no one from the Bush administration will testify under oath....same reason why Bonds is going down too! - lohphat, on 11/30/2007, -1/+10Mr. President, you better not cross this line.
Or this one...
And this one...
Well, ok, well you better not cross THIS one.
Um, ok a few more inches...
WHEN WILL CONGRESS GROW A PAIR OF BALLS ALREADY!? - inactive, on 11/30/2007, -1/+9Oh yeah, Bush must be shaking in his pants right now. Even democrats are blocking impeachment resolutions. The executive branch is now officially immuned to any form of prosecution. Even the opposition is protecting them.
- TrevorBelmont, on 11/30/2007, -0/+8MY message to Biden: Bomb Iran and it's too f@#kin' late!
- dgendreau, on 11/30/2007, -2/+10Sure, but that doesnt mean they shouldnt be ridiculed for being stupid.
- evilcaptain, on 11/30/2007, -0/+8Translated as
"A Million Deaths is OK but if you add any more you get a smacked bottom" - drgooch, on 01/25/2008, -0/+7That's a threat? LOL
- badqat, on 11/30/2007, -1/+8Biden can't do it now, as he's in the senate, not the house. The house votes to impeach, the senate hears the trial and either convicts or acquits.
- FloppyLlamaDigg, on 11/30/2007, -0/+6Articles of impeachment against Cheney:
http://kucinich.house.gov/UploadedFiles/int2.pdf
Supporting Documents:
http://kucinich.house.gov/SpotlightIssues/document ...
The senate probably won't convict - not because there is a lack of evidence, but because it would make them looks bad for supporting such heinous actions.
There could be a video of Bush or Cheney clearing a preschool of its pupils with a rusty chainsaw and they wouldn't convict.
(I would have responded to you but the comment system was being sandy.) - AshamedAmerican, on 11/30/2007, -3/+9Talk about an empty threat. Hey if any of you really still believe the Dems will impeach this guy then more power to ya, but I can't be so optimistic. They've had every chance in the ***** world and they can't get it done.
"I gave President Bush some rope, a lot of rope, and well he hung ALL of us with it." - qpn6ph9q, on 11/30/2007, -0/+6Agreed. It is this kind of fluffy political posturing that gives politics a bad name. By the time he attacks Iran it will be TOO LATE! The country will be at war: The war drums will be beating and Bush will be impossible to remove from office. It shames me that congress is supposed to act as "checks and balances" to out of control executives, drunk on power and bent by megalomania. The time is NOW for Republicans and Democrats alike to urge our representatives to act upon their conscience before the whole world is dragged into what is likely to end up being tragedy on a scale that dwarfs Iraq.
- orelses, on 11/30/2007, -3/+9People need to realize that Biden can handle the republican spin in debates far better than any of the other candidates.
- badqat, on 11/30/2007, -0/+5Sure it was...he lied under oath, committing perjury. That's a crime.
Justified? Well, probably not...but at least they did have something to pin him with... - BassCadet, on 11/30/2007, -5/+10Jesus Christ, please just sign off the Internet forever. The majority of people in congress who voted for war in Iraq did so because they were mislead by evidence and the President. Haven't you guys ever heard the expression "Fool me once..." ?
Now we have an Internet full of ***** morons who think that someone like Ron Paul or Dennis K are more knowledgeable about foreign affairs than someone like Joe Biden who has a mastery of the material. PLEASE just LOG OFF the INTERNET. - FredFredrickson, on 11/30/2007, -0/+5Pursuing justice, no matter how futile the end result may be, is never a waste of time or money.
- badqat, on 11/30/2007, -2/+7Correct...Israel will be doing any bombing of Iran...
- BluesFan, on 11/30/2007, -1/+6If he bombs Iran it will be on his way out anyway, let the next president clean up the mess.
- lmf49, on 11/30/2007, -0/+5that is so ignorant i don't even know where to begin. But falafel... that was almost intelligent, yes good boy, i'm sure that they might eat FALAFEL, yes. Good Job at successfully summarizing an entire culture with a regionally endemic food. Iran is in one of the longest continually occupied areas on the planet, and to whom we owe, oh i don't know, Civilization ITSELF... ***** *****-Tard. Get *****.
- agent76, on 11/30/2007, -0/+5You have to impeach Cheney first otherwise he'd go in to power in the event of Bush being impeached and that's the LAST thing you want in the US.
- VitriolAndAngst, on 11/30/2007, -0/+5This sounds more threatening from the twelve year old kid who threatens the bully; "Hit me again and I'm going to tell my mom!"
- eatsushi, on 11/30/2007, -2/+7***** ***** NO "IF'S" JUST IMPEACH HIM ALREADY YOU IDIOT
God people like him are making me despise old people more and more - KingBunny, on 11/30/2007, -0/+5*bark bark bark*
...it starts to loose it's threat when you never follow through.. especially when no one was even afraid of the bark a year ago. Impeach now, dammit. BITE. - Stradenko, on 11/30/2007, -1/+5That's the one that that goes something like "fool me once, shame on you...feh.feh.feh...you can't get fooled again!" isn't it?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eKgPY1adc0A - inactive, on 11/30/2007, -0/+4What has Iran done to deserve threats? They haven't invaded other countries illegally like the USA has.
- williamdyer, on 11/30/2007, -0/+4Oh great. Israel will drag us into another war.
Can Israel please just ***** off and not wreck my country. - FredFredrickson, on 11/30/2007, -0/+4You're not the only one, apparently.
- objectcode, on 11/30/2007, -1/+5i cant help but notice they have oil in Iran
- Terr01, on 12/01/2007, -0/+4"Ok, so what are these crimes the current administration is accused of? Such as, and please provide proof."
How it is there under your rock?
But seriously, my favorite example is the lawless and unconstitutional crap like abducting US citizens from US soil and imprisoning them for years without ever being allowed to see their lawyer, without any sort of conviction, and in fact without even filing charges against them. All the while held in solitary confinement in a military prison and allegedly being tortured.
Of course, it would be equally illegal and unconstituional if the person wasn't a US citizen, I'm just throwing that in to make sure that silly "Constitution only applies to citizens" claim is nipped in the bud.
This is major-newspaper stuff with supreme court motions and official legal positions and all that stuff, it's no conspiracy theory. Look up "Jose Padilla" for the specific example I'm referring to, although there are of course other cases.
So there we go, rampant unconstitutional and hence illegal violations of the 4th and 5th amendment. Definitely impeachable. Not only that, but Bush and his lawyers have been legally claiming that he has the power to violate the 4th and 5th amendment in that way--you cannot excuse it as some sort of oversight and Bush has not one iota of plausible deniability for it. - FloppyLlamaDigg, on 11/30/2007, -0/+4Would you agree then that drug arrests and convictions are a waste of time and money? Surely those crimes are less significant than those that the current administration is accused of.
A strong possibility exists that several severe infractions have occurred. Impeachment is the right thing to do. - Terr01, on 12/01/2007, -0/+4Also interesting to note: Ahmadinejad was elected in 2005, replacing the more moderate and secular Mohammad Khatami. One could argue his election was part of an Iranian reaction to the situation in Iraq.
Anyway, back when Khatami was president, all the neoconservatives were saying that his moderate nature didn't matter, and we couldn't trust Iran because the post of Iranian president wasn't that strong. But now that Ahmadinejad is in power, the sky is still falling, but because the post of Iranian president has magically become important again. - lmf49, on 11/30/2007, -0/+4get this...
Scarborough said, "when you have [Iranian president Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad talking about obliterating Israel, talking about obliterating the United States, talking about building nuclear weapons, how we can't stop him. Saying just absolutely horrendous crazy things, sending Iranian forces into Iraq to kill American troops.
The republican spin doctors and talking heads are actually buying into the crap that they make up, and repackaging it as war propoganda to make a case for war in Iran. But we already knew this, right diggers? - CloakedMirror, on 11/30/2007, -3/+7Bush has the Constitutional authority to bomb any country he wants, so long as Congress provides the military with the funds to do so. The closest thing to any control over that is the law from the 1970's that says the president must ask for a declaration of war within 30 days of taking military action. If it's denied there is no penalty. In fact, there's not any court precedent to say that he actually has to comply with that law. There are many argue that the law itself is unconstitutional because it violates the separation of powers.
If you are going to make statements like you did above, you should maybe consider taking a US civics course. You obviously don't know how the separation of powers was set up, and thank goodness you aren't in any position of authority. -
