- wonderlandpr, on 07/16/2008, -12/+51Though I worry about the gaffes that Biden might spit out as an Obama running mate, man the fire and the facts and the feistiness IS WHAT THIS CAMPAIGN NEEDS.
No one would come up against Biden...EVEN ROMNEY, and not look like an ill informed oaf. THERE IS NO ONE ON EITHER SIDE WHO IS MORE QUALIFIED TO BE VICE PRESIDENT.
If we could just get Biden to take a chapter out of the Bill Clinton book and not push the envelope over the ledge, BIDEN GETS MY VOTE FOR VEEP WITH OBAMA.
And, boy is Biden FUN to watch and listen to! - jlee2081, on 07/16/2008, -12/+44McCain graduated at the bottom of his class. He's not studying *****.
- Jaleho, on 07/16/2008, -2/+22Yes, please? West America, Northeast America, Jesusland. Let them all elect their own leaders, and see which ones are able to fix their economies, regain favor with world leaders, provide for their people...
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -1/+17I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN.
- MattB123, on 07/16/2008, -2/+17I like your idea, but I don't think we should let Jesusland have nukes.
- dalittle, on 07/16/2008, -10/+24Obama's Spine? Are you sure that is what the title was suppose to read? Remember how Obama voted on FISA? I am never going to let that go and I hope that others do not either.
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -1/+12Yes, but at least he graduated. I've known many self proclaimed elitist democrats and republicans that never finished school.
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -3/+13OBAMA'S SPINELESS FISA VOTE
- bunit03057, on 07/16/2008, -16/+26Digg is like an RSS feed for the huffington post.
- chronodev, on 07/16/2008, -7/+17The huffington post praising Obama and insulting McCain? Wow this is something I havent seen before
- MorganMghee, on 07/16/2008, -5/+14He won't study, haven't you heard? He already know's everything! /s
- VCubed, on 07/16/2008, -4/+12I like Biden, his Iraq plan just stressed me out, though. He wants to partition it, Kurds, Shiite, Sunni. I don't think the Iraqis want to be left w/3 countries to defend instead of one. Bad enough the Brits stuck them together for convenience sake (boy wasn't that foresight - not!). What can they think if we try to break them apart when now that's all they've ever known. Can u imagine someone trying to split up our country?
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -1/+9Couldn't it go both ways though? Couldn't you argue that he has a spine b/c he didn't bow to the far left again? I'm not saying I agree with the FISA bill, but really, doesn't it depend on where you're looking at it from? And I'm sorry, I already let it go - only b/c his benefits and years of service outweigh this one decision, IMHO.
- cnot3, on 07/16/2008, -5/+12Biden likes Obama's spine, Huffpost like his dick, we get it.
- KnightWhoSaysNi, on 07/16/2008, -3/+10Noooo, I would be stuck in Jesusland!
- Kenzan, on 07/16/2008, -2/+9I think I'm starting to see a pattern here.
- ToxNub, on 07/16/2008, -12/+19Keep crying about the source... if you can't dispute the facts, STFU.
- quaunaut, on 07/16/2008, -1/+7Yeah...read the book first *****. That part is directly talking about his younger days, and how he thought, back when he was running his life into the ground. He then spends the next 2 pages helping people understand why Blacks think these things, and how to fix it on both sides of the racial divide.
- neognostic, on 07/16/2008, -1/+7Since Biden didn't even make it out of the quarter finals in the primaries, I don't see much sense in your assessment. However your assessment of yourself in your user name is spot on.
BTW - I think Sen. Biden is a great asset to our country. - 5urr3al5am, on 07/16/2008, -3/+9HuffingtonPost?? Zzzz Zzzz.. more media bias.. its everywhere?!
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -6/+12Wow! A democrat praising another democrat while insulting another? It's never happened before! It's A MIRACLE!
/sarcasm - funkyloki, on 07/16/2008, -0/+6Well, not the VERY bottom. He was fifth from the bottom. Not that that means better.
- jakdracula, on 07/16/2008, -18/+23Buried for Huffington Post.
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -1/+6Context is great isn't it?
- robbiemuffin, on 07/16/2008, -1/+6@MattB — wanna try taking those away from them? :)
I think the US should* split up something like that and form an EU-like system, inclusive of canada. Maybe greenland, iceland, sweden, and ireland too, if ireland comes free from the EU based on the current situation there. the icing on the cake is if russia suddenly wants in, then we have the artic union, freely-cooperative use of artic reserves, and a shoe-in invitation for japan.
* should = it's a neat idea. not that it should really happen. - robbiemuffin, on 07/16/2008, -1/+6I think the big problem we have over there is that the minority, the one that is ruling the government, doesn't want to split the country up, while the majority, the ones without any representation in government, would prefer to, you know, have representation. A good number of them probably DO want to split up into 3 countries.
- MattB123, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5He can just Google it when he needs to anyway. Oh wait...
- mescalitospoke, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4Maybe wrong on the history, right on the message. Bin Laden Al qaida and Saddam were enemies for good reason. Saddam for all his terrible tendencies secularized iraq, ask any one of the Iraqi women who used to be teachers and now are Syrian whores. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-eas ...
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -0/+4Re: "Soviets" !!!11!! Do you think he may be talking about ideology and not a physical country that no longer exists?
Kind of how some people think that Cheney and crew are really Trotsky -ites? - waggdogg, on 07/17/2008, -2/+6So that is why Obama walks like he has a stick up his ass.
- robbiemuffin, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3it is much easier to incite people to want things, to buy things, to titilate and excite, than it is to be substantive. to actually discuss real issues. just because the topic is real, doesn't mean the discussion is.
- Adamlite, on 07/16/2008, -2/+5I'll remember that ***** even if he's the President and it's July 16, 2012. Remember that when politicians ***** up, it's our job to keep them accountable. I actually keep a log for so I can't forget.
- Scottievm, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3He'd make a better Secretary of State.
- Cole2026, on 07/16/2008, -2/+5I agree, but his followers will blindly follow him, like it always has been.
- selmer, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3Even worse...what if he studied his ass off and still finished fifth from last?
- robbiemuffin, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3@ket - Thanks for the good details. Your good to point out, I was misremembering about the majority: it hasn't been that way in a while, right? (actually, I was paraphrasing a politican I'd just heard on the news the day before :) )
Between the first two you're over 90% of the population. ... the third population division is ethnic, not religious: kurds. The Kurds were promised their own country in the first world war. They are the largest ethnic group in the world without a state. Obviously they don't feel well represented as a minority in the country and have extremely difficult claims to dismiss.
Still, the majority so favored the division that it is the eventual goal of the nation, in the constitution, to split into autonomous zones. It isn't a stupid political trick because it is wrong, it is a stupid political trick because we have no business being a part of it. - MelvinSchlubman, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3> fifth from the bottom
In a class of 899. (Not a class of 5 ;-) - jstone, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3You're a perfect example of Marine Corps indoctrination. That is, if you're even a Marine.
- KJSatz, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3psst...Our country was split from the beginning. They're called "states."
- gak001, on 07/17/2008, -0/+3Too bad Biden knows more about the Middle East than anyone in the US Government. He's visited pretty much all of Iraq and you might want to take a look at his theses sometime.
- redslash, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Some days I just really think Digg is the ficklest creature ever created. We build Obama up just to watch him break.
FISA... I hate to break this to you... is not that big a deal. Honest. It's a moderate civil liberties breach. It is. But we're 8 trillion in debt, we're stuck in a cesspool in two different wars, the economy's going to pot, and... I mean, there are serious issues out there. Good grief, it's not like FISA was this HUGE deal. Seriously. - quidpro, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Worked with Germany...?
- ketemphor, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2The ruling party is Shia, same as the majority of the population.
The old ruling faction were largely Sunnis, who are a minority in Iraq.
The Sunni, the out-of-power minority, still don't much want to split the country because the central provinces that are majority Sunni don't have the rich oil fields. - dcthomas, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Dugg for Biden's featured quote.
- inactive, on 07/17/2008, -1/+3Exactly. Having a spine would be standing up for what you actually believe in, not voting for a bill that hurts all Americans just so you can get elected.
- inactive, on 07/16/2008, -3/+5Biden still refers to the problems with the "Soviets" in his speeches. I am not sure he's such a wise pick for a canidate pretending to bring change to washington.
http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1 ...
Biden clearly knows a lot, rattling off practical liberal-policy solutions for all manner of domestic and international challenges, but he's just all wrong for 2007. He refers to himself in the third person, calls the Russians "Soviets," leans patronizingly into people's faces and brags about passing legislation by saying "I did it with my own little paw, folks." When a young girl from the Scholastic journalism program asks him when he'll bring the troops home, he gives her a three-minute-long answer that's not really an answer. - mcsweeney, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2"moderate civil liberties breach." I agree with the....we've got problems thing (your list)...but let's not ever assign "moderate" to a civil liberties breach.
- Archimboldo, on 07/17/2008, -0/+2Notice how he quietly took his statements that the surge would fail off his web site?
