If they would only search for themselves, they might feel differently. Many Christians have seemingly stopped relying on their own thinking and personal exploration of the scriptures, staying trapped in doctrines which, although loosely based on scriptures, are still doctrines created by mankind. Then they go out and "preach" what they have been taught instead of "following" the teachings of Christ.

If you have or can find the diary of Christopher Columbus, he credits God for directing him here to America and giving him the courage to cross the ocean proving that the world was not flat.
I had never heard this until recently. - Nannybell, on 07/10/2008, -0/+6What bothers me is that it seems kids are being lied to in the schools regarding our nation's founding. They don't seem to know the first thing about the religious faith of individual Founders, and are instead told that they were ALL deists. They don't know that the Founders believed that without a moral, religious citizenry, the form of govt. they created would not survive. George Washington especially believed that. Undue weight is given Thos. Jefferson's letter in which he used the term separation of church and state, and too little attention is paid to the rest of the Founders' beliefs and intentions.
