I think his point is that people need to understand that you don't necessarily know the qualifications of the writer and whether any research other than a few google searches have been done. I enjoy reading some blogs, but at the end of the day I'll never trust a blog unless its been independently verified. To me they're just entertaining.

If you had called him a right wing facist, I would have let it go, but your statement of his argument tells me that you have never listened to him. He is one of the few conservatives to openly bash Bush, as well as not buying into republican talking points. He is right wing, but if you want to get a right wing perspective (to know your enemy) he is a very good person to listen to.

Not sure how this is really political news, but anyway... Glenn Beck is an entertainer. He knows how to push buttons. There was this lady, named Judith Miller, she was the Deputy Media Editor and Middle-East Bureau Chief for the NY Times, she also won a Pulitzer Prize in 2002.
The thing was, her stories, which reached the front-page of the NY Times frequently, were actually entirely false - she nor anyone at the staff of the NY Times ever bothered to fact-check anything.
She left the NY Times, under severe criticism and pressure, in 2005.
