Barney Frank to author federal marijuana decrim bill
celebstoner.com — Massachusetts Rep. Barney Frank told Bill Maher on "Real Time" that he plans to "file a bill as soon as we go back to remove all penalties for small amounts of marijuana." Frank added: "It's time for the politicians on this one to catch up to the public. The notion that you lock people up for smoking marijuana is pretty silly."

- NikoKun, on 03/23/2008, -0/+5Good line... The politicians really DO need to catch up to public knowledge.
I think if it was put to a nation wide vote, to remove criminal penalties for something as simple and harmless as Marijuana, The public would vote to decriminalize.
Although true legalization might be a little farther off, It would actually end up being the better choice. - DonWigler, on 03/23/2008, -0/+2"I'm going to call it the Make Room for Serious Criminals bill."
