You guys can make fun of it all you want but us Christians need to watch for these types of things and I've never seen anyone who fulfills the Anti-Christ prophesies more!

I think I mentioned it a brother in the Lord just a couple of days ago. He ALSO had the same feeling!

    In the meantime, other things are happening as well. The anti-Israeli forces are getting stronger by the day (esp. Islamic forces), oil continues to be the factor behind who has power and who doesn't (therefore mostly Arab countries), Russia is not becoming any more friendly (Putin), Venezuela/Iran/Cuba are a really fun threesome, oh - and North Korea... Plus, things are not going well in the good ol' US of A economically, politically, or morally.

    So yeah, I'd say it's possible. He's young enough to be around for all of these forces to come together. Either way, whoever the anti-christ is/will be, he's going to be someone that the masses of people will be attracted to, and who will see him as the answer to the world's problems.

            I haven't been on digg hardly at all this past week, because - I'm not making this up - I was asked to help out with some housekeeping duties at a nearby school. :-) So, yes, my dear Mr. W - I've been the uber-housewife the past week. And no, it doesn't bother me to proclaim it to the world. I wash clothes, windows, and dishes. I mop floors, dust furniture, and clean bathrooms.

            And yes - I really do know how to put together an awesome pot pie, crust and all. Chicken pot pie, or turkey and apple pot pie - take your pick. How did you know?

In one of my Setting the Stage chapters, I had talked about that axis of evil as you mentioned. It's a little spooky. I guess the "spooky" part of it all, is to think that we may be part of the generation that witnesses the beginning of the end, just as it is prophesied in Scripture.

        Well, don't know when it will be. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe several generations from now. Either way, our task is the same - "Go into all the world and preach the gospel." That's the one thing we won't be able to do once this life is over. I wonder how many people will be in heaven due in part to the seed that was sown on digg, or on other forums. There are several names here that I've prayed for.

    This kind of discussion came up on my blog recently. It motivated me to pick up Ed Hindson's book "Antichrist Rising: The Coming Global Storm" again and skim back through it.

    It is interesting to note that in his introduction to the book, Hindson writes:

    "The term Antichrist may be applied both to an individual and the system he represents."

    We can see how the Liberal Anti-Bible Democratic "positions" are the polar opposite of the Conservative Christian Republican positions here in the United States.

    Hindson continues:

    "Since he (Antichrist) will control these structures to his advantage, it is also vital that we renew our commitment to serve the cause of Christ in this world until the Savior calls us home. We have no mandate to surrender this world to Satan. On the contrary, we are called to transform society by the power of the gospel until our work here is done.

    I know it's not a laughing matter, but when Hindson lists the following characteristics of the Antichrist, and I thought about Obama...I just had to laugh. Some of them so very obviously do not fit Obama's profile:

    1. Intellectual genius (Daniel 7:20) Obama? Nope! He is smart and savvy, but a genius? No!

    2. Oratorical genius (Daniel 7:20) Obama? Possibly... He's a gifted orator, but genius? Questionable.

    3. Political genius (Daniel 11:21) Obama? NOT!!! (though the cult loons may think so!)

    4. Commercial genius (Daniel 8:25) Obama? Not if he wants to tax us all to death!

    5. Military genius (Daniel 8:24) Obama? NOT AT ALL!!! Remember, this is the guy who thought we should bomb Pakistan!

    6. Administrative genius (Revelation 13:1-2) Obama? Possibly... but only when considering his current climb up the delegate ladder of success on the campaign trail. He certainly mesmerized Chris Matthews and has cast a spell over many in the audience at his rallies.

    7. Religious genius (2 Thessalonians 2:4) Obama? Maybe...if you succumb to the idea of religious pluralism.

    Note this. Hindson writes:

    "Perhaps the most telling of his characteristics is depicted in Daniel 11:21, which tells us that he will come to power and "seize it through intrigue" ("flatteries," KJV).

    Obama? You bet!!

    Your entire blog here is proof of that!

    But whether or not he would be the master of deception, empowered by the father of lies remains to be seen.

    When the prophesied Antichrist does rise, the church will no longer be on this earth.

    Why?

    Because believers who have been raptured won't see his (the Antichrist) rise to being Satan incarnate--thus, they would not be fooled by his miraculous recovery prophesied in Revelation 13:3.

    However, for the non-believer, it will appear as a "miracle" and they would likely fall for his false Christ (pseudochristos) masquerade as an "angel of light;" only to discover too late that his ultimate goal will be to plunge the world into spiritual darkness.

    Hindson: "Like Satan, he is a destroyer, not a builder. Promising peace, he pushes the world into war. In every conceivable way, he is just like Satan who indwells and empowers him."

    As we can see, Obama has some qualities that the coming Antichrist is prophesied to have.

    I will also agree that Obama's policies lead towards a spirit of Antichrist which the Bible tells us "is already in the world."

    Obama's arguing against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act legislation (and, voting against it along with only 3 others in the entire congressional body!) alone is proof of the spirit of Antichrist fact!!

    As Christians, we are to watch, work, and wait for the coming of our Savior.

    Indeed. The signs of the times are definitely upon us like never before!

      You bring up some great points about what the anti-christ is "supposed to be like" and I have studied a bunch of Chuck Missler stuff regarding the anti christ as well and I tend to agree about the points where there are many who simply dont know the details about the anti-christ. But...the points about him you brought up, i.e military genius, intellectual genius etc. Remember, IF Obama were the anti-christ, he may not exude those specific attributes quite yet. He may exude those characteristics later. Just something to consider, because his "holding back" on certain character traits actually would fit the whole deceitful agenda.

    We all know liberalism fails every time it is tried. Obama is a liberal. Everything he stands for is liberal in nature. His ideas have yet to be implemented. Obama will find it tough to implement his ideas.

    If not...then perhaps evidence of the anti christ will appear.

    Yet, we have checks and balances and we still have a free society. Let's use it.

    Listening to the man bash Bush last night is the sight of a man living in a glass house throwing stones. Obama has no signifigant proof his ideologies will accomplish anything! His ideas will fail horribley!

    America could fall to terror during his watch if elected.

    There is more evidence an Obama or clinton presidency combined with liberal ideology will cause more harm to this country than the nation can bare. He has yet to fight conservatives to enact laws. He is not the President yet.

    When I listen to Obama speak I hear an empty suitcase. But ... it is a really nice empty suitcase. The fact Obama is who he says he is on the cover is enough plenty reason enough to pay attention.

The "spirit of Antichrist" is very different than calling a certain person THE Antichrist. The Bible does inform us that the "spirit of Antichrist" is already in the world. Obama's policies (most, not all), and immoral "values" expose this spirit of Antichrist within his mindset and worldview. That's all that I am claiming.
  • these3remain, on 02/21/2008, -0/+5Hmmm. It does give one much to ponder on. Personally, I think Tony Blair fits the mold, too - we'll see when he becomes the first president of the EU. His recent conversion to Catholicism is of note, too, since it would also bring the Vatican into the "fold". Barak's middle eastern ties and muslim ties are definitely a cause for concern although ostensibly, he claims to be a member of a Christian Church. Most of us have already checked out his home church's website and many of its extremist beliefs don't reconcile with Biblical teaching. Add to it his pastor's relationship with Louis Farakan and it's a formidable prospect. The Body of Christ already has pulpits filled with false teachers , in all probability, the great apostasy that will even deceive the elect. It will be interesting to see what the future of Christianity in this country will look like after the elections. I never thought I'd live to see the day that supposedly Bible believing pastors would be members of the CFR. But it's a fact and the goals and objectives of the CFR is one world government and one world religion. So it shouldn't be that much more surprising if the anti-christ is on the scene today, too.
    As Christians, we are to watch, pray and redeem the time. We need to be the watchmen on the wall, sounding the trumpet so that no one's blood is on our hands. We need to faithfully share the gospel in the power of the Holy Spirit and leave the results to God.

    I am going to make this loud and clear - Barack Obama is a man, a ***** HUMAN BEING that has endured numerous hardships in his life and has managed to fight hard enough through various challenges to succeed in his goals. How dare you call him an "anti-Christ"? All of you people disgust me to the point where I want to throw up.

    If Barack Obama is the "anti-Christ", what do you make of president George W. Bush? A man who has deceived the American people into *two* different wars (let's not forget Afghanistan!) under completely false pretenses only so that he and his corporate buddies can have full control of oil. A man who has illegally spied on his own citizens. A man that has tinkered the economy into a very dangerous recession. A man that has made it even more unsafe for people to be in the United States. A man who has illegally imprisoned and tortured human beings without counsel or trial. A man who creates enemies and uses fear for political gain. Answer my question, what do you make of this man?

    Barack Obama is the solution to changing and repairing the immense amount of damage that the Bush Administration has caused. Yes, he is a Liberal, but that does not mean your way of life is threatened if he becomes president. Liberals and Conservatives alike will have a brighter and safer future with him in office. He stands and cares so deeply about the American people.

    And I can't help but wonder if you'd be so quickly inclined to label Obama the "anti-Christ" if he were a white man instead.

    You all are the ignorant scum of the earth, a disgusting delay to human advancement and peace. May your "God" have mercy on your unsolicited judgment of a fantastic person.

I for one am disgusted with him, he's as big a sell-out as Barack Obama is except that Obama supports the #1 cause of death among black Americans - abortion. If you noted in my post, I actually referred to a "white" guy as a possible candidate - Tony Blair - but that, of course just went right on by your own racist perspective. You are incredibly naive if you think that he "cares so deeply" about the American people. You are bigoted and hateful to make a sweeping generalization about any group of people - especially those you do not know. That's what characterizes bigotry - hatred towards a group of people one does not understand out of ignorance. So go throw up already; I'll join you because what you have posted is sickening, too.

He is a human being and if you knew anything ANYTHING at all about the anti-christ you would know that the individual is a HUMAN BEING. Satan dwells inside the antichrist. The anti-christ puts a mask on to deceive those around him, no he isn't in office yet, and honestly it scares me to think he has a chance. As a christian it thrills me to know I will be taken to Heaven when the antichrist rises to power. I am thrilled knowing all my pains, trials, and sufferings will be gone. It saddens me that you will still be here on Earth while the antichrist is in power. I do not know for sure who the antichrist is, but Obama really shows the characteristics.

I am not saying Obama is the antichrist. So many men throughout the centuries have been accused of this, yet none have turned out to be the real Beast of Revelations.

    HOWEVER, to see Americans fall in love so quickly for this man, is disturbing, and at times quite humorous! The entire situation is cult-like. I can see why so many believe Barak Hussein Obama is the Antichrist.

    I am not a racist person. I would love to see an African American as president, but Obama is not the man for the job. How can these people be so blind??? Do they not realize what this man has done to their minds? PATHETIC. Completely and utterly pathetic.

    Infact, I want so badly to see the antichrist rise to power, and to have it actually be Barak Obama would be simply delightful. It would be wonderful to see those who have allowed this stranger from Indonesia to brainwash them be punished and forced to eat their pathetic words of support for a man they don't even know.
