- aidang, on 02/17/2008, -54/+535This man is the only person in this race that is truly presidential.
- proxima, on 02/17/2008, -10/+364Should be noted this wasn't in his official speech transcript, implying that this whole segment was improvised.. quite impressive
- robodrew, on 02/17/2008, -35/+340Honestly, this can't get enough coverage. Watch this if you want to know what really not only makes Obama great, but also why his ideals are so great. He needs to be our next president.
- tillerman00, on 02/17/2008, -18/+279I believe Barack just verbally bitch-slapped Hillary Clinton.
- Oktoeatfish, on 02/17/2008, -14/+260Dugg for his last sentence. "Don't tell me words don't matter (bitch)" I heard it.
- Eiknujrac, on 02/17/2008, -24/+250Dugg for awesomeness.
- rebotfc, on 02/17/2008, -8/+180The full speech, without the webpage capture thing
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ffwY74XbS4 - smookyfufu, on 02/17/2008, -10/+166"Speeches don't matter please keep listening to this speech that i'm giving right now." - Hillary Clinton
- jimmyhoffa2222, on 02/17/2008, -28/+162This was a great speech by Obama tonight. The final nail in the coffin for Hillary.
- manicallday, on 02/17/2008, -11/+108"They call me a hopemonger"
That's the funniest part of the speech. - stevo9er, on 02/17/2008, -10/+107Or the money he earned from helping his buddies get uranium mining rights in Kazakhstan.
- inactive, on 02/17/2008, -11/+92I have a dream... to elect an intelligent president for once. Just words...
- lamprey187, on 02/17/2008, -3/+79Tax returns don't matter either according to Hillary's empty rhetoric.
- iJase, on 02/17/2008, -19/+90I get chills every time I hear this man speak.

Gee, it's nice to Digg an Obama article before the Paulbots get to comment...let's see how long it lasts... - carpespasm, on 02/17/2008, -5/+61Is nice. I like!
- BenLinus, on 02/17/2008, -22/+78Simply an amazing speech.
Also, I know some people are getting annoyed by all the Obama pages on Digg. After the nomination is announced, you won't have to worry about it. But until then, people are using this wonderful to site to spread the word, to try to get our opinions out. Please stop posting petty comments because you are annoyed. Just don't click the article. - Shabonkerz, on 02/17/2008, -9/+62Whoa. Just whoa. He really knocked that point out of the park.
- Radical5, on 02/17/2008, -18/+66This is a man that you can be proud to call your president.
I'm Canadian so I don't really have a say in who gets elected, but Obama has the right stuff for the job. - designdraft, on 02/17/2008, -11/+54Yeah, Obama is pretty much the only hope I have left for this nation. After all the bs we've been dealing with for the last eight years, it's nice to feel like maybe change for the better is possible.
I'm glad that he was able to show up Hillary and her rather absurd judgments. - StusGhost, on 02/17/2008, -5/+48if you want to see all of Obama's 10 point plans, just check out his website. He knows how to get things done. Every time I hear about all of Hillary's experience, all I can think is, "yeah, and. . . So she's partly responsible for the current state of our government more so than Obama . . . that's . . . uh . . .supposed to convince me to vote for Hillary? Uhhhhh . . . I don't think so. . . thanks for pointing that out though."
- dxgg, on 02/17/2008, -2/+44I'd vote for Obama's speechwriter. He writes them himself.
- Jay123, on 02/17/2008, -9/+50Hillary was Bill's second choice... she should be our second choice, too.
- videomad, on 02/17/2008, -6/+42sure hope he wins i like this guy ( :
- inactive, on 02/17/2008, -5/+41Hillary is so desperate, it would be laughable if people weren't buying into it. I can't tell you how many times I've heard the, "yeah, he gives great speeches, but then why don't we just elect speechwriters?" argument.
- inactive, on 02/17/2008, -4/+39Fool, don't you know? She's one of the undead. You can tell because she no longer has any independent thought, just animalistic bloodlust.
- rationalist, on 02/17/2008, -1/+36She has refused to release her tax returns to the public.
- Agenda, on 02/17/2008, -6/+41how many bloody times will a person copypaste this stale copypasta? this has been responded to several times, so its time we started reporting people who repeatedly spam lies and nonsense, for exactly what they are-SPAM.
- Eiknujrac, on 02/17/2008, -2/+35Are you serious? You've got to be kidding. Please educate yourself before making overwhelmingly stupid statements like this. Obama sponsored over 800 bills in the Illinois senate. Because you decided not to do any reading on the subject, I will help you:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/artic ...
Also, you "experience" nutjobs are just ironic to me, seeing as the reason I like Obama is that he has no "experience" in the disgusting politics of today.
I apologize for being less than civil, but this ignorance has just gotten ridiculous. - wild, on 02/17/2008, -0/+33Link for you guys, from CNN's political blog:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/02/17/ob ...
"The final portion of Obama's speech was largely ad-libbed with slightly tweaked material from his stump over the last week. It included lines directed at Clinton's recent heightened criticism that Obama is a "talker and not a doer" and that this election is not about "speeches" but "solutions" — a theme Clinton also pushed in her comments at the dinner.
'It's true that speeches don't solve all problems, but what is also true is if we cannot inspire the country to believe again then it doesn't matter how many policies and plans we have,' Obama said." - imikedaman, on 02/17/2008, -0/+30The general public *is* unaware of what he's done. They're also equally unaware about the other candidates. I don't think it's any secret that a majority of the people will always vote based on their gut feeling rather than well-researched facts.
Hell, my mom likes McCain because of his Irish last name. And my sister's boyfriend voted for Hillary because he feels like she's honest. My sister voted for Obama because he was on Oprah and seemed really nice. Not one person I know voted for their candidate based on their policies and plans for America. - Pritchard, on 02/17/2008, -2/+31Too late. I'm a Ron Paul supporter. Saw the full speech on Youtube and came, hard. He's absolutely wonderful at giving speeches. Oh, if only I fully agreed with Obama on the issues. What I *do* agree on, however, is that he cares about the nation.
You have to remember that it's not right or wrong - It's a battle of ideals. Some people believe that nation building is right. I don't. I believe that what Ron Paul has to say about this nation and where it should go is right. Obama disagrees, I'm sure. Good for him. While I believe some of his changes would also be "bad" by my beliefs, it's a lot better than what we're doing now, and it's from a guy who's very, very reasonable about what he believes. - verenditas, on 02/17/2008, -13/+42Crikey, that man is amazing.
- worthone, on 02/17/2008, -1/+30You don't need to hear it, because the entire speech spells bitch.
- Oea420, on 02/17/2008, -4/+32Aweomse video, but what's with the uhh...
screen recording of a video that's already on the internet? - haichi, on 02/17/2008, -12/+39Amazing night for Obama... Can't wait for 10 in a row on Tuesday. This is not a Dream.
- holzp, on 02/17/2008, -0/+25It is a silly argument, just because one can write a speech does not translate to the skill to speak it.
- DavidGX, on 02/17/2008, -5/+30He's married, but I'm sure he appreciates your interest.
- oseymour, on 02/17/2008, -4/+28With this speech he just convinced me....Hillary just lost another supporter..
- Turnus, on 02/17/2008, -0/+22Dugg for old-school political awesomeness.
- Laminarcissus, on 02/17/2008, -2/+23maybe this is part of the problem?
you are clearly a sophisticated enough internet user to be posting on digg, and I assume have heard of google, yet you're saying "Does anyone here have any information or links to what Obama is suggesting should he get elected?"
a 2 second google search would tell you everything and more of what you want to know, including a little thing like his "official website." there he has a whole series of specific published plans, including program details and funding, on a wide range of subjects that you can read. you may not agree with them, but you can say he isn't being specific.
so, if you've been using the entire internet for less than a week, i apologize. otherwise, stop accusing someone of not doing something when you're actually the lazy one.
here: I'll get you started:
Barack Obama's official website:
http://www.barackobama.com/
And a site called "Google" many of us use, for more information:
http://www.google.com - Nougat, on 02/17/2008, -5/+25Indeed, the only thing politicians do is talk. If not to the public, then to each other, and to foreign leaders. Things get done in goverment via discussion, compromise and agreement.
- DeadFox1, on 02/17/2008, -1/+21go here: http://www.barackobama.com/index.php
click on "issues" - nihilite, on 02/17/2008, -2/+22Do you understand a senator's job? He votes on laws at the national scale to represent his constituents... in this capacity he has been extremely true to his constituents - probably more than most any other senator out there (except Kucinich).
If you are unhappy with the way the state is run, i suggest you complain about our jackass governor Blagojevich who is really quite inept. - mimigins, on 02/17/2008, -1/+21Educate yourself. http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/church.asp
Next time you label something as propaganda don't go spouting your own. - jotate, on 02/17/2008, -2/+22Man, *what?* He wrote, sponsored, and co-sponsored literally thousands of pieces of legislation in Illinois. He spearheaded the ethics reform for the state government, the very same change he's preaching for the federal level.
- inactive, on 02/17/2008, -6/+25Considering McCain is a compulsive liar and Hillary keeps doing the political equivalent of challenging him to a "mud wrassle", I'd say you're right.
