- eliot2000, on 07/22/2008, -18/+135In seven months, we'll never hear from this tool again. I can't ***** wait.
- jahurt, on 07/23/2008, -3/+107Can we please never elect another president on that basis?
- stendhalian, on 07/22/2008, -13/+87big mouth strikes again.
- IbbyIbby, on 07/22/2008, -13/+80"wallstreet got drunk and now it's got a hangover"
one of the best "bush"isms yet - ferrell, on 07/23/2008, -12/+68"after eight years of sacrifice..."
WTF?
What does this ***** ***** know about "sacrifice"? - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -1/+56Bush said 40 Billion dollars for universal health care was too much money for the US economy to handle, and he and his rethugs shot the bill down.
And now we are giving bankers 25 billion.
***** *****. Like I said before Bush will be remembered for privatizing profits and socializing losses. - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -1/+55I bet he can snort the hell outta some cocaine too.
- inactive, on 07/23/2008, -22/+71As much as Bush has been a terrible president, has made some unbelievably rotten moves and has screwed America royally, I can't help thinking that he'd be a right laugh to get drunk with.
- JK1150, on 07/23/2008, -2/+41what is so controversial about this? he is saying that big business got reckless, does anyone disagree?
- filmbandit, on 07/23/2008, -14/+52GW, GTFO
- OiPunk, on 07/23/2008, -2/+30Dude, the Bush administration is hot. I'd hit it.
- benburned, on 07/23/2008, -7/+31That reporter sounds like Asian reporter Tricia Takanawa.
- villainousT, on 07/23/2008, -4/+27I completely agree. As Scott McClellan tried to point out also, he generally is well intentioned. He has just been put in a position, on his own accord really, where he was able to be run over by his vice president first and foremost as well as others.
It's sad how things had to turn out. Ofcourse plenty of the blame is and should be squarely placed on his shoulders. He just isn't a real leader and it goes to show just how far money and a family name can get you. - ChristianMagic, on 07/23/2008, -1/+22with my penis.
- bbqsalad, on 07/23/2008, -2/+23I hear Hitler was pretty hilarious too.
- inkswamp, on 07/23/2008, -3/+23I have a lot of friends who are a right laugh to get drunk with as well. And you know what? I wouldn't want any of them as my president.
- aapala, on 07/23/2008, -1/+19http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JgEuuypvzpY
- peticsu, on 07/23/2008, -5/+23I dont think it got drunk, I think Phil Graham slipped in a couple of rufies into the drink and Bushco gangraped it...
- TomFrost, on 07/23/2008, -3/+19While I really, really enjoy your outlook, I can't help but remember that it's the same dumbass things that are not only ruining our country from the inside, but also giving us an even worse reputation from the outside. It *would* be hilarious if it weren't so damn serious.
- DaDrake, on 07/23/2008, -0/+15mkeydr lets be fair --- the subprime fiasco was caused by congress. Congress encouraged these risky loans (to individuals and small businesses) by making programs that will back loans. While the intentions were good (greater home ownership) it also ignored the fact why these people weren't giving loans (it was risky). With the government backing up the loans (usually 65-75%... especially with the SBA), banks essentially gave out these loans like candies. Worst, when the loans were sold off to larger banks to be compiled into mortgage bonds for investors, the risk of these loans weren't properly assessed.
What happen when hedge funds (who, are often the first to discover fraud or a bubble like with Enron) reported their findings to the SEC and groups like the SBA ..... nothing. Why? Congress ranked the programs' success by the number of loans they were giving out. Even if the banks were handing out loans more risky then the legislation intended for, these groups wouldn't crack down on them since that would lower the overall number of loans being given out.
So lets be real... this problem started long before "wall street" and just shows what happens when you create programs with little safe guards or oversight. - MrTito, on 07/23/2008, -1/+16Actually, he's talking about Laura and in the video clip he says "after eight years of askin' her to sacrifice..." God I hate to seem like I'm defending that man, but the transcript on that page was wrong. I'll probably get dugg down anyhow.
- lsumed, on 07/23/2008, -11/+25Sounds like a good ad for Democrats.
- Stanks, on 07/23/2008, -5/+19Leave it to our "elected" leader to relate global economics to binge drinking.
God Bless America. - moviscop, on 07/23/2008, -1/+15as the flames rose to a roman nose and his hearing aid started to melt.
- phrenzy, on 07/23/2008, -1/+14and he's got no right to take his place with the human race.
- highlymodified, on 07/23/2008, -23/+35I do not have the words to describe my contempt for this *****.
It may have gotten drunk, but you and your party ground up and added a few pills worth of wealthy tax cuts, fierce partisanship, and purposeful devaluation of the dollar. You and your policies dosed this economy, raping the public for the good of corporations who pay off the right people. - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -5/+17I hate this guy more than the next guy, but videos like this do exactly the opposite of what they're supposed to do. Maybe I'm insane, but stuff like that humanizes the piece of ***** and dulls my hatred for him. I think even Houston has his back in a weird... a guy from our country (texas) is the president sort of way.
- JoeJim, on 07/23/2008, -16/+28GWB nails it perfectly here. The man says what he thinks, whether you like him or hate him.
- cmw72, on 07/23/2008, -1/+12It's like they say ...
"100% gibberish and still funnier than Carlos Mencia." - azaraa09, on 07/23/2008, -1/+12like the fist of an angry god.
- redslash, on 07/23/2008, -2/+12Not really a Bushism... it's true.
- aceinhibitor, on 07/23/2008, -0/+10The Smiths were a great band.
- kingUssop, on 07/23/2008, -5/+14"There's no question about it. Wall Street got drunk ---that's one of the reasons I asked you to turn off the TV cameras -- it got drunk and now it's got a hangover. The question is how long will it sober up and not try to do all these fancy financial instruments."
Ladies and gentleman, the brainchild of the Republican Party today. - inactive, on 07/23/2008, -1/+8*cough* false flag *cough*
- Ubermann, on 07/23/2008, -11/+19Of course - no where to be found on the big news channels.
- samuelagesilas, on 07/23/2008, -2/+10No reason to get dugg down. Your right, he was referring to his wife. That's the good thing about be a free-thinking rational person you can embrace facts. You pointing out that correction doesn't take away from the overall gaffe that whole video was so Thanks for pointing out that correction. :)
- geekee, on 07/23/2008, -16/+24Home buyers were drinking from the bottle too, but Democrats aren't blaming them. They're falling over each other trying to bail them out, with Obama in the lead.
- JoeJim, on 07/23/2008, -2/+10WOW - A thoughtful, spot-on criticism of our current president, with very little verbiage consigned to "I-wanna-feel-better-right-now" puns. We will someday get to the root problems of the current administration when 90% of the posters here start using just 5% of their brains. Go, vT.
- hwy9nightkid, on 07/23/2008, -1/+9then howd he get elected?
- siansleep, on 07/23/2008, -0/+8Bush is right, in a twisted way. The economy got drunk, thought it could keep on giving out phony loans to people who could not afford to pay them back. Now the economy is struggling. While Iraq and poor Bush leadership, or lack thereof, do not help the situation, Wall Street greed had a big part to play in this crisis.
- PhilLesh69, on 07/23/2008, -2/+9Not really.
What he said wasn't very controversial, he just said it in his classic George Bush idoitic manner.
Actually, if you understand his language, it was one of the more accurate statements he's ever made. - PhilLesh69, on 07/23/2008, -0/+7Wealthy people benefit when middle class and poor people suffer economically, on so many different levels.
Plus, not every corporation is in trouble right now. Some are doing quite well. For every one that fails, the survivors gain in market share and eventually increased revenue and profits, lower labor costs and the ability to charge higher prices.
We don't even have to mention the Oil industry, do we? The industry that Cheney promised $100 a barrel oil to during his super secret energy policy meeting in the summer of 2001, you know?
You do know that they built the Empire State Building during the great depression, don't you? Had they tried to build it during better economic times, they probably couldn't have afforded to build it. Look around DC, NYC, LA, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, you'll see construction cranes dotting the skyline. - PhilLesh69, on 07/23/2008, -0/+7He already has. He bought a huge estate in Paraguay in 2006.
- JoeVet, on 07/23/2008, -1/+8Hey Bush sacrifices every day. He had to give up golf to show support to those families who lost their sons and daughters in his crusades in Iraq. What more could anyone ask?
- samuelagesilas, on 07/23/2008, -3/+10Really? Yea OK, I guess thousands of young, full-of-life American soldiers returning from an unwarranted war in body bags is real funny. Maybe all of the Katrina victims that were treated like unwanted stray dogs or the unbridled raping and pillaging of those hard-working Americans that are in the lower income bracket through predatory lending. Yea I guess all those things are real funny huh? I don't know what you consider funny but none of the aforementioned items in my opinion are not funny, they are indeed calamitous.
- sumdog, on 07/23/2008, -1/+8It's like the dieing jews hanging from crosses at the end of Monty Python's "The Life of Brian" singing "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life"
Try saying he's a funny guy to the parents of dead soldiers. - samuelagesilas, on 07/23/2008, -3/+10No $#!t. I dream of the day when most of us can pick a president based on his intellectual capacity and not how fast he can down a pint.
