- Acrinimiril, on 10/01/2008, -2/+60Isn't it interesting that both Obama and McCain want to quickly pass a bailout bill and are both funded by the exact same failing banks!
Both received hundreds of thousands of dollars from employees of corporations such as Lehman Brothers, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley.
Wow, that really cuts straight through all the *****! - Acrinimiril, on 10/01/2008, -2/+58http://campaignforliberty.com
- Acrinimiril, on 10/01/2008, -3/+44Obama got almost $750,000.00 from Goldman Sachs?
Most people would probably never guess that!
What even less people would probably guess was that Goldman Sachs was a top contributor to both McCain and Obama - no wonder they are not that much different on issues.
No wonder they don't want to even mention real issues, like the privately owned Federal Reserve banks! - MooseOfReason, on 10/01/2008, -2/+43Do you want a candidate who gets most of their funds from the gigantic investment banks, or someone who gets most of their funds from the U.S. Army, Navy, Air Force - and Google?
The bankers want your money.
The troops want to come home.
And YOU KNOW THEY PICKED THE RIGHT MEN FOR THE JOB!
Here's the number for the U.S. Senate:
(202) 224-3121 - playaz33, on 10/01/2008, -2/+30That was insightful.
- Acrinimiril, on 10/01/2008, -1/+28Stop and think about this:
Both the Democratic and Republican presidential candidates are being funded by two of the largest banks asking for billions in tax payer bailouts.
Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley!
Then consider that Treasurer, Henry Paulson, was the highest paid CEO on Wall Street as head of Goldman Sachs, receiving half a billion dollars worth of Goldman Sachs Stock. - webby65, on 10/01/2008, -2/+25Two wrongs can't make it right.
VOTE 3RD PARTY!! - danboarder, on 10/01/2008, -1/+22Thanks for posting this Acrinimiril (tough username!). OK here is a direct link to the organization compiling this data: http://www.opensecrets.org/pres08/contriball.php?c ...
- Acrinimiril, on 10/01/2008, -0/+16No, Goldman Sachs is funding both Obama and McCain at the same time, and asking for them to bail them out with tax payer money. And that's exactly what McCain and Obama are telling the American people we MUST do, bail out their friends at Goldman Sachs!
It's pretty obvious. - inactive, on 10/01/2008, -2/+18Loads of campaign $ could be saved if all voters would just use this to make their decision. Tells us immediately who these criminals work for!
- Habit4ming, on 10/01/2008, -2/+18Ron Paul's donations, it should be added, came from INDIVIDUAL (military) contributions, for the most part...
Here are two toll-free Senate #'s: 800-828-0498 - or- 800-473-6711 - Demener, on 10/01/2008, -2/+16Wow looking at that is truly scary when looking at Obama and McCain. Now I know why they both want this bailout to pass.
Say what you want for or against Ron Paul as a candidate, but he has a lot of truly respectable technical companies as his contributors. - estrader, on 10/01/2008, -2/+15Follow the $$money$$ trail .. it always tells the truth
- bikebball, on 10/01/2008, -2/+14I think all of Obama's support from the big research institutes is also shady. He says he will increase the size of NIH and take even more money from the taxpayer for government sponsored research. Unnecessary.
- Acrinimiril, on 10/01/2008, -2/+13Interesting that most all of Obama's and McCain's other top supporters are law firms!
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+11Ron Paul wins again.
- brad3378, on 10/01/2008, -1/+11I also work for a defense contractor and donated money to Ron Paul.
This was my first and only political donation.
End this war. Send me home! - marco114, on 10/02/2008, -1/+10Ron Paul is the only candidate for the people, by the people.
- Acrinimiril, on 10/01/2008, -1/+10The indisputable facts;
1) Both Obama and McCain were given hundreds of thousands of dollars by employees of the same failing banks.
2) Both Obama and McCain are now telling Americans that they must bailout these banks. - inactive, on 10/01/2008, -1/+10Vote independent, get the corrupt bastards out of office, abolish the federal reserve!
- inactive, on 10/02/2008, -0/+8Looks like the Senate has learned nothing from the Great Depression. During WW1 the Federal Reserve engaged in massive inflation to fund the war. This caused all kinds of malinvestment and misallocation of resources. After the war was over these malinvestments needed to be liquidated to have a recovery. Warren Harding did just that, he cut government spending and taxes, let prices fall and halted inflation and the recession was over in less than a year.
In the late 1920's the Federal Reserve (see a pattern here) in a misguided attempt to stop gold from draining out of the reserves in the Bank of England, pumped inflationary credit into the markets. This once again caused another credit bubble. When the bubble burst in 1929, Hoover and Roosevelt did the exact opposite as Harding, they raised taxes, increased government spending and tried to hold up wages in prices with price controls. The result of course was the worst economic disaster in this country's history.
I advocate following the policies of Harding though I would go farther than he did and abolish the Federal Reserve and fraudulent fractional reserve banking so these crises don't reoccur. - Acrinimiril, on 10/01/2008, -0/+7Most of these are contributions under the names of individuals. When you make a campaign contribution you are required to enter both your employer and industry. As such, you can sort contributions by employer. These lists show that both Obama and McCain are supported by wealthy bankers and attorneys, and Ron Paul is supported by the people.

- clonestar, on 10/01/2008, -0/+5And because of a law passed by Congress, since he had to eliminate that conflict-of-interest prior to taking office, he got very favorable tax treatment as well. He made out like a bandit. Gee, is "bandit" the right word to use?

Then call or write them and tell them what you think about the bailout.
If they received money from failing banks - let them know that you know. - Acrinimiril, on 10/02/2008, -0/+4Truth is simple.
- migshark, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3Doesn't really change the point. It's inclusive of top tier members. You could quite easily just 'adjust' your wages to cover your tracks.
- Acrinimiril, on 10/02/2008, -0/+391% of Ron Paul's contributions over his career were from individuals.
- libertygal76, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3McCain's no spring chicken!
- s1n0n, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3Read the Banker's Manifesto of 1892, and its obvious how long these banksters have infiltrated and shaped our political system.
- MtnXfreerider1, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3Second link to it: http://nahc4.com/src/1222917145560.jpg imageshack doesnt usually last long.
- chadpyle, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3And yet Obama insists he hasn't taken a dime of special interest money. How do these idiots intend to get away with their blatant lies, when information is so readily accessible? Unfortunately, they're counting on our track record of apathy and ignorance.
I'm not religious but I like this quote from the Holy Bible, Matthew 7:13... "Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate is wide and the road is spacious that leads to destruction, and many people are entering by it."
Ron Paul was largely responsible for getting me involved because he offers real solutions. He's offering us a path to liberty and true freedom. It's not the broad, spacious path we're used to but I'm willing to traverse it nonetheless. - Acrinimiril, on 10/02/2008, -0/+3We are still free to vote.
The fact is, we don't have to vote for either Obama or McCain.
The people do have that power, even if they have been mislead. - Acrinimiril, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Indeed he does, many intelligent supporters that have taken the time to research the truth.
- tremblej, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2It is individuals in the company (or organization) that donate to the candidate. For instance the line that shows US Army for Ron Paul with the amount of $80,000 could represent 40 soldiers donating $2000 each. Every time you make a donation, you have to state who you work for. That becomes public record and some folks have accessed those records and created a database from it. Lots of places on the web where you can do queries to find out this info.
- btschul, on 10/01/2008, -0/+2The point is that the two candidates who get lots of money from banks and mortgage companies just voted to pass a bill that rewards those companies with a handout of $700,000,000 for destroying the economy.
- voicce, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2We all knew politics is dirty, but with this bailout rammed through by all the pols supported by the banksers and bandits, it is so blatant.
It is inspirational to see Ron Paul stand up to the power elite for decades a lone brave voice telling the truth. - vault, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2lol @ paul getting the postal worker donations
- Acrinimiril, on 10/02/2008, -1/+3The Constitution authorizes a post office.
:P - Acrinimiril, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Wow, great comment!
- MrM4nager, on 10/02/2008, -0/+2Or a table
- Evenstar75, on 10/03/2008, -0/+1I personally plan to write Ron Paul's name in. If you don't vote, you're assumed to be apathetic. If you do vote, but vote for the lesser of two evils, you're assumed to support them (as opposed to hating the other more). If you vote for whom you want, there's no chance in hell you'll win, but at least your opinion will be harder to misinterpret.
