- ChLb, on 10/04/2008, -0/+4Excellent article that really details the stupidity of this bill
- GaryGlaucon, on 10/04/2008, -0/+3Same old nonsense- create fear of a situation that is intentionally complicated so that only the "experts" can offer guidance. Offer a solution with multiple upsides- save the economy, we'll get money back (Bush said this???), it's to save main street, and people will be held accountable.
All hogwash! It proves that democracy is just another government rip-off racket, but instead of one man, you have the village idiots who are easily manipulated by a few men. - Christianptriot, on 10/04/2008, -0/+2Great - I want my kids to open up their own businesses as fast as they can, and when they fail I will protest to my Congressman and Senators that we MUST have legislation to bail them out.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1FTA: " The bailout bill also gives the Internal Revenue Service new authority to conduct undercover operations. It would immunize the IRS from a passel of federal laws, including permitting IRS agents to run businesses for an extended sting operation, to open their own personal bank accounts with U.S. tax dollars, and so on. (Think IRS agents posing as accountants or tax preparers and saying, "I'm not sure if that deduction is entirely legal, but it'll save you $1,000. Want to take it?")"
Why is this in the bill? Doesn't the IRS wield enough power as it is? - waluum, on 10/04/2008, -0/+1Credit markets to Washington: Bailout isn't enough, we need more

...remember all the talk from the Republicans about enacting their plans so that the terrorists won't win? Looks like a lot of what they do is not only bringing victory for the terrorists, but victory even in their primary objective (Think also: fear motivating the sacrifice of liberty for the sake of security, and creating a police state)! But the Democrats are not exempt - more of them voted for the bailout than Republicans, and they are the "do nothing" Congress!
Do you honestly think that McCain will solve anything? Do you honestly think that Obama will bring any genuine change? Same *****, different brand.
Why is Digg so quick to forget Ron Paul? Or Dennis Kucinich? These voices crying aloud from the wilderness are rarely heard, and too often disregarded, by voters who still insist on playing to the party lines!
Remember, Americans, the words of John Quincy Adams:
“Always vote for principle, though you may vote alone, and you may cherish the sweetest reflection that your vote is never lost.”
We can reverse all of this! All of the last 8 years - all of the failed foreign policy, all of the crippling financial plans, all of the lost liberty! Not only that, but we can change our course, from descending into chaotic and harmful policy to ascending by liberty, prosperity, and idealism!
Do not vote for McCain or Obama! Do not throw your vote away! DO NOT FORSAKE THE FUTURE OUR FUTURE!!! - waluum, on 10/04/2008, -0/+1WTF?! Need I say more? Might as well: VOTE THESE ***** PIECES OF ***** OUT OF OFFICE BEFORE THEY START A REVOLUTION!!!
