- madfrogurt, on 03/11/2008, -12/+402I heard that my university is going to send a sharply worded letter condemning Bush too. It's going to have about as much effect.
- inactive, on 03/11/2008, -20/+326In other unenforceable law news, it has been made illegal for the sky to be blue in Alaska. It must actually be orange.
- PATSCRU, on 03/11/2008, -7/+244as much as i loathe bush, bangor is right.....also, having "OMG w00t" in your article description severely hampers the credibility of your submission.
- Skitzzo, on 03/11/2008, -15/+244Buried for using OMG, w00t, and Breaking in a single submission.
- doctorfungi, on 03/11/2008, -10/+181Step 1: Someone tries to arrest the President.
Step 2: Secret service notices
Step 3: ???
Step 4: A ***** load of dead people. - seks03, on 03/11/2008, -65/+194This would/could be awesome!
- inactive, on 03/11/2008, -45/+127dugg for possbile justice.
- Manberries, on 03/11/2008, -7/+84good luck catching him as he tap-dances off into the sunset...
- brycelb, on 03/11/2008, -24/+92The awesome part would be watching the people doing the arresting getting the ***** beat out of them by the secret service. w00t?
- inactive, on 03/11/2008, -110/+168"nonbinding, symbolic measure" That pretty much sums up liberals in general. Most everything they do is "non-binding" and "symbolic".
- cnot3, on 03/11/2008, -5/+53When Adams passed the Alien and Sedition Acts, states nullified them and threatened to seceded from the Union. When Bush passes the Patriot Act, Vermont passes a couple of ***** laws and many plan to write a very strongly worded letter. People today are pussies.
- Elderon, on 03/11/2008, -12/+55The secret service are to protect the presidents life. protecting the president from arrest is not one of the duties of the SS. If they were to fire on the police while trying to make an arrest... I have no idea what would happen, but it wouldn't be good.
- stupidStan, on 03/11/2008, -3/+45BREAKING - BREATHTAKING - STUNNING
Annoying words that have become meaningless that seem to get you on the front page - ABadPerson, on 03/11/2008, -14/+53I think I know which city the terrorist will attack next.
- jmpeagle, on 03/11/2008, -10/+48yeah...because the 3 cops that work in those towns will be able to take out the secret service....
- ibone, on 03/11/2008, -15/+44BREAKING: Vermont is wasting their time, nothing will happen.
- ictharus, on 03/11/2008, -15/+44I hate to tell you this, but we (Arcata, CA) have already impeached him.
http://zzpat.tripod.com/cvb//jan_2006/arcata_city_ ... - futureisours, on 03/11/2008, -7/+34You're an idiot. The secret service is trained to defend against heavily armed terrorists with explosives. A few country bumpkins would be no match, i'm sorry.
- nsummy, on 03/11/2008, -12/+39This happened 6 days ago, how the hell is it BREAKING? buried as lame
- LMControl, on 03/11/2008, -4/+30Considering Vermont is the only state Bush has not visited yet during his terms in office, I expect this won't exactly entice him to visit now that he's got less than a year to go.
However, there's a perverse side of me that would like to see what would happen if they attempted an arrest. Hell, I'd respect him more if he went there after this just to see if they'd try it. ;-) - inactive, on 03/11/2008, -22/+47That's right, how dare they even try to charge him for crimes he actually committed... why the audacity!
You guys do know that there could be a *trial* if you all didn't lie to yourselves? And would this be the first time in history a prime minister or president has been tried for war crimes? No. This is exactly why the green party has credit for declaring that the dems are not any form of opposition party: there is not even a *desire* for opposition in this case. - brbubba, on 03/11/2008, -10/+34I like how they label the town "liberal," as if that were the reason they are making such a fuss. Since when does someone have to be "liberal" to want to arrest someone for breaking the law? What a bunch of ftards.
- iainzor, on 03/11/2008, -6/+29i think you forgot the "/sarcasm" tag
- ProfBagelwood, on 03/11/2008, -21/+44Sort of like your Digg comment that stereotypes and reprimands liberals, right? Lulz.
- cleverhandle, on 03/11/2008, -0/+22FUNNIEST PICTURE YOU'LL SEE TODAY!
- Groovemaster, on 03/11/2008, -12/+34Ridiculous. Everyone knows the Bush administration is above the law.
- swrostmore, on 03/11/2008, -9/+31Your stereotyping of Vermonters is as ignorant as it is idiotic. The population of mainstream Vermont is generally descended from refugees from the commercialized "hippy" culture of the 60's, libertarian, independent, and protective of their right to privacy and protective of their gun ownership. They are center-left blue-collar workers, students, tradesmen, Union workers, survivalists.Trying to generalize these people is ***** stupid.
- ennTOXX, on 03/11/2008, -5/+26What? Are you 7 yrs. old? Now that would make sense... :||
- ProfBagelwood, on 03/11/2008, -7/+28I would love to see a small town cop attempt to arrest a presidential secret service escort.
- brycelb, on 03/11/2008, -12/+32I am going to assume that was sarcasm.
- diskit, on 03/11/2008, -6/+24Good luck with that...
- stonewaljacksn, on 03/11/2008, -1/+19""nonbinding, symbolic measure" That pretty much sums up liberals in general. Most everything they do is "non-binding" and "symbolic"."
As someone who considers myself a liberal, I ***** love you for that comment. For those of you who are immature enough to think I am a conservative for making this comment, all I can say is that you don't have to be a sheep and blindly follow and blindly support your side of the spectrum. I honestly am disillusioned by the liberals because they make funny jokes and talk good about Utopian weapon free fantasylands where the marijuana is plentiful but NOTHING EVER GETS DONE. If anything ever did get done, Bush, Cheney, Rove, Bush's father, and Rumsfeld would have all been thrown in jail a long time ago. Instead liberals scream about how much of an "outrage" it is and go on with their dime-a-dozen rants about how Bush is Hitler and our country and our world is going to hell and everyone is a sheep but them because they are ranting about it. You can also guarantee they will use big words and try to use perfect grammar in an attempt to sound smart and cool and calm. Sometimes I feel bad for agreeing with them because they are embarassing. Sure it may not be all liberals but everyone who reads this knows wtf im talking about. - bjornski, on 03/11/2008, -12/+30Aaah, the wisdom of LukasSmith. Defender of the Fuhrer.
- Gabberwok, on 03/11/2008, -5/+23I guess they'll have to go to Colorado for skiing now...
- fotbr, on 03/11/2008, -4/+21Law enforcement's body armor is pretty much worthless against rifle fire. And I suspect that a small town's police department would run out of zerglings before the secret service ran out of ammo.
I saw Bill Clinton's motorcade in '96 -- the secret service are serious about what they do. And Clinton was friggin' adored in comparison to the general opinion of Bush. I don't even want to think about what they have to deal with when Bush goes on tour. - Jo9100, on 03/11/2008, -11/+28damn I like Vermont
- insllvn, on 03/11/2008, -10/+27I am going to hope it wasn't.
- inactive, on 03/11/2008, -2/+18I'm not liberal and I want Bush impeached.
- haydesigner, on 03/11/2008, -7/+23I think he is implying more that the Bush family has 'ties' to terrorist groups.
Which they do. - otatop, on 03/11/2008, -9/+24BREAKING: defconoi is apparently illiterate.
- LloydBentsen, on 03/11/2008, -6/+21I remember being promised the same thing when the new Congress took office in 2007, except that Congress took one of its Constitutional rights off the table, as well as not ending the war, etc.
- cavergeek, on 03/11/2008, -1/+16Wow, did everyone miss the part of the article that says it is a SYMBOLIC gesture?
- RGWX, on 03/11/2008, -1/+16What are you? 13?
- Langford, on 03/11/2008, -12/+26Yeah, its an unenforceable token gesture, but it's a strong one that many of us can sympathize with.
- relentless1914, on 03/11/2008, -0/+14No, the only reason it is unenforceable is that the President is the Commander-in-Cheif of the military and if they arrested him and the federal government didn't recognize the charges or the jurisdiction, (since he didn't committ the crimes in their state), they would expend every resource to get him back, including the military.
- InfeImmo, on 03/11/2008, -4/+17For great justice.
All your Bush are belong to us. - inactive, on 03/11/2008, -8/+21I'm starting to like Vermont. It's like Canada, but with guns.
- ZombieSociety, on 03/11/2008, -9/+22It says twice in the article that it's "nonbinding," Mr. I-Read-Articles-Before-I-Comment-On-Them.
- celotil, on 03/11/2008, -4/+17The war about oil - *****, about anything - is not about where the produce goes, it's about who controls distribution, pure and simple.
- Elranzer, on 03/11/2008, -2/+15Is he above the law?
