YES WE CAN! - Anzat, on 02/07/2008, -14/+87Hillary's hyping on her website how they're trying to raise $3 million in 3 days. Obama's been raising money from small donors at a faster pace than that for MORE THAN A MONTH.
Now Obama raises $3 million in ONE day. Amazing. In less than 48 hours, he will have raised more than the $5 million she loaned herself before Super Tuesday.
By the way, it sure is telling that she "loaned" her campaign $5 million instead of GIVING it $5 million. It can't be good for her future fundraising for donors to know that they're just helping refill her personal bank account. - glowfood, on 02/07/2008, -24/+94Everyone is so excited as if they broke some sort of record.....you know, the one Ron Paul holds.
- hellyes, on 02/07/2008, -13/+70Unheard of... what about Ron Paul? Pretty sure he beat that.
- NathanCH, on 02/07/2008, -5/+61Im laughing. Clinton just borrowed 5 MILLION LOL! If obama doesn't win, I will official hate America 10x more than I already do.
- from Canada. - MadTom, on 02/07/2008, -13/+66If only Paul had more media coverage... Screw McCain as the republican front runner
- supernovanights, on 02/07/2008, -16/+63Update! We've donated over 3 million so far!
We cant be stopped!
http://my.barackobama.com/page/community/post/samg ... - jmpeagle, on 02/07/2008, -15/+49what I don't get is why Ron Paul supporters are complaining about the fact that Paul never got enough coverage to get real money and momentum and yet a few months ago, they were saying the internet had made the old media obsolete and that nothing was going to stop Paul from being elected. You can't have it both ways.
- infinity777, on 02/07/2008, -9/+43I am going to http://my.barackobama.com/page/contribute RIGHT NOW and donating ANOTHER $50. I will phonebank for him again too, I had fun last time. It was great hearing a 80 year old grandmother pick up the phone and be so excited that I was calling, she totally wanted me to talk to her daughter too. I could have stayed on the phone for hours I'm sure but they told me I should go remind more people that super tuesday was coming up. Together We Can Change This Country!!
OBAMA 08
YES WE CAN - inactive, on 02/07/2008, -89/+121Yawn. Ron Paul did 6 million without batting an eye and didn't even have all the free media coverage Ospama did.
- Ugoff, on 02/07/2008, -3/+35Way to go guys. We just reached 5 mil! Take that Billary!
- Elderon, on 02/07/2008, -14/+45Ok I'm a ron paul supporter but I want to ask since obama has a pretty decent chance of winning. What's his deal? what is he going to do? Will he stop the war on drugs? will he stop the war in iraq and bring troops home? will he cut the government spending? the IRS? what's he going to do about gitmo and illegal prisons?
I just don't get excited for demaocrats anymore after they won a crap load of seats in the senate and decide to jam their fingers up their ass and give bush everything he's wanted and more.... so much for change - jeebus16, on 02/07/2008, -6/+36I'm a Ron Paul supporter and even i'm getting sick of hearing other supporters being jealous of Obama. Lot of good all the money we raised for Ron Paul did. At least Obama is using his by running a strong campaign.
- DeviantDragon, on 02/07/2008, -8/+37Since when is a grassroots effort *****?
- flyinglaughter, on 02/07/2008, -14/+41Amazing --- Obama has the momentum and all Hillary can do now is spin that he is now the establishment candidate that needs to spend more. Gimme a break! America will see through this BS. We've got a movement on our hands here!
Check out what Clinton's own Mark Penn, union buster, is saying right now:

YES WE CAN! - Gabberwok, on 02/07/2008, -4/+31It's okay, I charged $50 on it to Obama's campaign already... ;-)
- kschramm, on 02/07/2008, -4/+31$5.1M
Can we hit $6M? - supernovanights, on 02/07/2008, -12/+37Now it's up to 3.5 million dollars in less than 24 hours!
- DeviantDragon, on 02/07/2008, -4/+28Jesus Christ, $5,122,090 now. What are the times that they've set as determining the 24 hour period of fundraising this takes place in?
- shyner, on 02/07/2008, -4/+28As a Ron Paul supporter, I dugg you up. You are completely right. In all honesty, a LOT of the Ron Paul supporters get on my nerves, and go back and forth on things like the way you just described.
- Marmeladov, on 02/07/2008, -7/+31hillary's done. obama's a pimp
- pistonhonda, on 02/07/2008, -5/+28DIdn't someone raise $6 million in one day?
- XXXXXXXXXXXXXX, on 02/07/2008, -11/+34He will decriminalize marijuana.
He will pull the American troops out of Iraq by the end of 2009.
He will refuse to raise the limit on the debt, which is fine since as long as the GDP increases at a faster rate than the debt does, the country is fiscally sound.
He wants to get rid of the Guantanamo Bay detention center. - encrypteduser, on 02/07/2008, -2/+24Donated $500
- njcarlos, on 02/07/2008, -1/+22Ron Paul has the one day record at $6.3 or $6.4, I can't recall. Either way, any ~$6mill run in 24 hrs is impressive.
- luet, on 02/07/2008, -12/+32Ospama? You're resorting to name calling? Come on!
- lanzemurdok, on 02/07/2008, -4/+23i donated 10 bucks to ron paul a while back.. but now i'm donating 50 bucks to obama.
- Ajajadude, on 02/07/2008, -6/+24If he's still alive by then.
- samssf, on 02/07/2008, -2/+20I'll pitch him $100... it adds up people!
- thebellmaster1x, on 02/07/2008, -11/+28"Ospama"? Yes, because Ron Paul's name has NEVER been spammed on Digg.
Ass. - jake07, on 02/07/2008, -2/+19It's been forty years since America landed on the moon. Nothing, from then to now, has rallied the American majority to unite around a common cause. It's a sad irony that 911 was an opportunity missed. It only heightened the cynicism people like you and me feel. Barack has hope and integrity and is uniting unlikely constituents under a progressive cause we can actually get behind. A way forward. His gift of a silk voice rallies the downtrodden. He vocally opposed the war from the beginning, supports research and implementing alternative fuel, has a plan for lower health care costs, etc. etc. But the issues are beside the point if you cannot unite the people to their nation, and bring the nation back to its international role of inspiring peace, justice and liberty. Who better than a man from his background?
"But in a very real sense, it will not be one man going to the moon--if we make this judgment affirmatively, it will be an entire nation. For all of us must work to put him there." JFK
I want to put this man in office. Sometimes it feels as difficult as putting a man on the moon. But it feels like the real American story. This is the way forward. And with cynicism on the rise it's been too long since we inspired one another. For a change, this campaign is about hope, not fear. And, "In the unlikely story that is America, there is nothing false about hope." - thebellmaster1x, on 02/07/2008, -2/+19If Obama doesn't win, I, too, will officially hate America 10x more than I already do.
- from America. - rz8472, on 02/07/2008, -8/+25www.barackobama.com donation page is VERY slow right now, probably because of the sheer volume of donors :D
- thefirstenemy, on 02/07/2008, -1/+17It's in the 2008 U.S. elections section, and you're on an American based website. I think you should probably calm down and block U.S. political news in your profile settings.
http://digg.com/settings/topics - DimensionalPunk, on 02/07/2008, -9/+24My card just got stolen so I have to wait for the next one gets here. I'll be putting in another $50.

http://www.barackobama.com/issues/ - FluffyWolf, on 02/07/2008, -8/+22How is a request for donations to match Clinton's cash injection on Obama's campaign site not coordination?
- supernovanights, on 02/07/2008, -4/+18He's getting 1 million per hour. He's at 4.8 right now.
- hellyes, on 02/07/2008, -5/+18I just heard 4.2 million from Olberman
- jkbowman, on 02/07/2008, -3/+16Giving now is more important than it will be in the general election. We'll pick the next president over the next few weeks. I'm proud to be part of that $2.2 million and even more proud that my candidate said no to special interests. - Obama rocks!
- DeviantDragon, on 02/07/2008, -4/+16@ncairns
Obama's campaign sent out a mass email to anybody on their lists asking for the money. Even if it's a bit spur of the moment, it's certainly not organic. Furthermore, do you really think that Paul spamming actually won people over to donate the money? It's more a matter of informing those who would've wanted to donate about a chance to. They didn't sway anybody's mind who wasn't going to.
At that point, what Paul needed to do was to get the word out and there was no campaign involvement and thus, no one great index or mailing list that could be used for the record breaking Tea Party bomb. Obama had this valuable resource which enabled him to do the same type of outreach only in a much shorter period of time. Don't belittle either donation day, but don't claim that this is organic. - Shao00, on 02/07/2008, -17/+29paul is done, put your energy into keeping mccain and hillary out of the whitehouse. maby paul in 2012.........
- supernovanights, on 02/07/2008, -4/+16Now it is at 4.4 million. You guys rock!
- illspaz, on 02/07/2008, -0/+12my calculations indicate that superdelegates are ***** retarded
- oMeSSiaHo, on 02/07/2008, -13/+25Its almost as if the Ron Paul supporters are jealous that he isnt Digg's flavor of the month anymore. "B-b-but Dr. Paul raised SIX MILLION!!".
Jesus Christ this story isnt even about him, its about Obama. Let some other people enjoy their moment. - DiggLive, on 02/07/2008, -8/+20According to my calculations, Obama will have 904 delegates to Hillary's 885 (give or take 5) after all the delegate counts are in.
