- hmalik, on 05/14/2008, -16/+211I would love to see Obama/Edward 08
- wampeter, on 05/14/2008, -9/+119About freaking time... What happened to Edwards pledged delegates? Are they still around to be allocated to Obama?
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -11/+101DO YOU SMELL WHAT BARACK IS COOKIN?
- inactive, on 05/14/2008, -3/+74Nicely timed.
Hillary takes an unenthusiastic win in West Virginia, and Edwards gets to squash what little noise she made by endorsing Obama. - porplem, on 05/14/2008, -10/+79Can't stop Barack.
- tumples, on 05/14/2008, -5/+70Surely this is the death knell for Clinton?
- rhabd0mancer, on 05/14/2008, -18/+70It's official!
Edwards has joined the Obamarama! - MrTito, on 05/14/2008, -3/+52John Edwards was the blue-collar candidate when he was still in this. I hope this will help snuff out Hilary's "white, working class" illogical argument.
- alloystudios, on 05/14/2008, -6/+54Hey John, let me get those pledged delegates. Thanks bro.
- BaoUnit, on 05/14/2008, -1/+47No, but I hope that it's bacon and pancakes, they're so delicious.
- bjornski, on 05/14/2008, -7/+51I'm an Obama supporter, but please stop. You're making the rest of us look like morons.
- dn11, on 05/14/2008, -3/+42anything is better than the so called "dream ticket", but Edwards said he doesn't want to run as VP again
- cambrown99, on 05/14/2008, -6/+46I think Obama/Richardson '08 would be unbeatable.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 05/14/2008, -6/+43It's confirmed, he's endorsing Obama.
- wild, on 05/14/2008, -1/+34Comment jacking, but CNN confirms John Edwards will be making the endorsement:
http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/05/14/ob ... - Jareth86, on 05/14/2008, -3/+39I guaran-*****-tee that Clinton will stay in the race, even after this endorsement. She'll play it off as sexism or something.
- maliath, on 05/14/2008, -3/+36By far the most qualified ticket would be Obama/Clarke at this point. We need that Rhodes scholar military man from humble beginnings to tear McCain's appeal to pieces.
- ZachTorpy, on 05/14/2008, -1/+27Don't tell her that, she won't listen.
- MxM111, on 05/14/2008, -1/+26Or tell her, she still won't listen
- Gerz1219, on 05/14/2008, -0/+25Not exactly. Edwards can ask his pledged delegates to vote for Obama, but they don't necessarily have to follow his lead. In practice, most of them will probably vote for Obama after the endorsement. It doesn't really matter since he only won a total of 25 or so.
- UtopiaInTheSky, on 05/14/2008, -2/+23By tomorrow afternoon she'll make a speech about how this Edwards endorsement isn't important, it's "all about the voters", etc.
- qwsxz, on 05/14/2008, -9/+31where you @ GORE???
- wild, on 05/14/2008, -0/+19I don't understand how some people view the world.
You have a genuine bootstraps lawyer with common sense attitude and a man born to a mixed marriage that pulled himself up from practical poverty and became head of the Harvard Law Review. Then you have Hillary, who has said she would use "nuclear" options to secure the nomination and and whose net worth is 100 times the other two. And somehow, Edwards is the slimeball and Obama the elitist bastard.
Nice work HRC. You fooled some of the people. - Ryan166, on 05/14/2008, -5/+26He waits until there is a clear winner, and then jumps on their bandwagon?
- jerryterhorst, on 05/14/2008, -10/+32once you go barack
- kashk5, on 05/14/2008, -1/+17Edwards has publicly stated that he won't take a VP spot. I'd like to see him with some Cabinet position (possibly Labor?) or even better, Attorney General
- SargedeathXmode, on 05/14/2008, -2/+21I guess there's no denying it; the endorsement will stomp out Clinton's momentum and bring an end to this nomination campaign. Time for the Democrats to stop attacking the Clinton camp and the Obama camp and get ready for the election under Obama. I only hope that Obama has enough time to campaign for the 2008 election itself; clearly, he appealed to the more liberal demographics of the Demographic party (in addition to his vastly superior speech skills) but the 2008 election has a more moderate demographic. Even if the nation is sick of conservatives and is undergoing a backlash against conservatism, it'll be hard to win appealing only to liberal voters. McCain has had a lead switching from conservative to a more moderate position, while Obama has had to continue being more and more liberal to douse out the persistent Clinton. I hope Obama has enough time to center himself in the political spectrum and pick up the moderate voters, otherwise, it'll be another four years with a Republican president.
- inactive, on 05/14/2008, -2/+17Yes, he can release his pledged delegates to Obama. I think most of his super delegates have already switched to Obama. Awesome day!
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -1/+1719 delegates.
They aren't technically bound to Obama, but pledged delegates typically support their candidate's second choice. - Reaktor5, on 05/14/2008, -6/+24We all knew this was coming eventually.
- papamike, on 05/14/2008, -6/+20Dude, like, I totally had your back the whole time. That VP slot still open?
- GoneGreen, on 05/14/2008, -2/+16Well timed Mr. Edwards...
- SenorCardgage74, on 05/14/2008, -3/+17All of the arguments around here over the use of "Breaking" remind me for some odd reason of....
Bender: Alright, lets make this quick, I'm due at the opening of a mini-mall. Hey what is this?
Elder #1: Silence! It is time to put the humans to death!
Fry: But the judge already sentenced us at the trial!
Elder #2: Silence! That was just a show for the public. We are the true rulers of this planet, hand carved from meteorites by the Robot Founders, four centuries ago.
Elder #3: Silence! Come forward Bender. You will have the honour of executing the prisoners.
Elder #4: Silence! I concur. - EvolutionTheory, on 05/14/2008, -2/+17I really REALLY hope we get Obama/Edwards or even more insanely hopeful for the world: Obama/Gore!
If we get Obama/Hillary I will cry inside and part of me will die as I vote for them. - petebot, on 05/14/2008, -0/+14He's from Chicago--we don't eat grits here. He's probably cooking a sausage of some kind.
- MacEnvy, on 05/14/2008, -0/+13... you pull out of Iraq.
- DeskFlyer, on 05/14/2008, -1/+15It will, but she'll deny it again. And stop calling me Shirley.
- TwistedSheep, on 05/14/2008, -2/+18I believe they are, since he only suspended his campaign, rather than completely withdrawing
c'mon Edwards! - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+14Are you gonna eat all of those?
- kineticworm, on 05/14/2008, -3/+17he should have did it a long time ago. just like bill richardson should have endorsed obama before the texas vote.
- EvolutionTheory, on 05/14/2008, -2/+15You are an idiot.
- digjam, on 05/14/2008, -11/+24Obama/Edwards 08!
Clinton/Cheney 28! - egoherodotus, on 05/14/2008, -4/+17Obama gets Edwards' 26(?) pledged delegates, right?
- Argentian, on 05/14/2008, -0/+11WTF does winning a race have to do with fishing?
- dn11, on 05/14/2008, -3/+14breaking, you don't have to read it.
- Musicdgamer, on 05/14/2008, -4/+15He's looking for Manbearpig
- x0rcist, on 05/14/2008, -2/+13They were waiting for WV before breaking out the big guns.
- DaviDTC, on 05/14/2008, -5/+1608ama!
- IAmTheGuy, on 05/14/2008, -0/+12If Cheney manages to still be alive by then, I will vote for him. Not because I like him, but because he will be 87 by then and will have sustained at least 4 heart attacks along with numerous other health problems. No country would dare cross paths with such an unstoppable man.
- digjam, on 05/14/2008, -6/+16This just in....Hillary claims Edwards is a Republican. Hearing this Bush offers him Secty. of Defense position.
