- allowners, on 08/27/2008, -5/+240We need a return to law and justice, bring the criminals to trial! Don't stop with the primary actors, also go after the enablers and co-conspirators, yup that would include Democrats.
- SaraLiberty, on 08/27/2008, -3/+149A judge actually doing his job?? Wow.. At first glance I thought this was an Onion article!
- Arishia, on 08/27/2008, -3/+143Y E S !!!!!!
- kellbell913, on 08/27/2008, -3/+112Can I get an "AMEN?"
- thmsschl, on 08/27/2008, -2/+107Get ready to hear this a lot: "I don't recall."
- TheRhinoceros, on 08/27/2008, -1/+94Holy ***** It's Justice! This can only be the beginning, there are a great many more that we have to hunt down and bring to justice.
Dugg. - h3lx, on 08/27/2008, -0/+90"I can't recall"
"I wasn't there"
"I plead the 5th"
"I can't discuss that because."
-You can expect to hear a lot of that. - zeusthemoose, on 08/27/2008, -7/+55No, the same does not go for Obama. Obama is the ONLY candidate who can possibly defeat McCain. McCain is dangerous and would further bring this nation down the path of destruction. Is Obama perfect? Absolutely not. But he is a damn good individual filled with integrity. If you think that there is either your way or no way in politics, you have another thing coming. Politics is about compromise. Do we agree with the neo-cons? No, absolutely not. But we still have to work with the neo-cons if we expect them not to fillibuster everything that is brought to the table.
People here on digg have a utter lack of understanding of how politics work. You can never ever ever have it only your way. What makes a good politician is one who brings everyone on board, and frankly Obama has a glimmer of that all important skill. McCain is a hot headed, short tempered, hot dog who would be a great danger to this nation. If you feel that McCain is very dangerous, but still do not like Obama fully, you will be the one responsible for whatever may come to this nation in the coming years. You can look back and say "I was the one who helped that mad man come to power because of my selfish desires to have it my way all the time and not vote for the man who partially mirrored my views who happened to be the only real candidate opposing McCain." If you can live with that on your chest, then by all means vote third party this election. - TheRhinoceros, on 08/27/2008, -3/+48AMEN!
- ahoyhoy1, on 08/27/2008, -4/+49WHAT HAPPENED TO KARL ROVE??? WHY ISN'T HE IN JAIL YET??
- Heysal, on 08/27/2008, -2/+46Someone is finally blowing on the house of cards. Keep shouting, maybe they are hearing us after all.
- ProfessorSYM, on 08/27/2008, -6/+49I agree but to do that we have to make sure McCain is not elected as our next President.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -4/+45rAmen..
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -2/+42I can't believe that woman was nominated to be a Supreme Court justice.
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -3/+42Well, if she hasn't broken the law herself, then it is quite possible that she can sink the Bush regime, since not all judges are on the GOP/Neo-Con payroll.
- gethelaw, on 08/27/2008, -0/+34"still can claim executive privilege on specific questions"
This really is not going to go anywhere. - Ilikebikes, on 08/27/2008, -2/+31Are they actually going to make her testify? Or is this going to be another situation similar to Karl Rove where she just gives the courts the finger and does whatever she wants
- BlacklabelSAR, on 08/27/2008, -1/+29"Hear the echoes of the centuries
Power isn't all that money buys" - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -0/+25Wait until there's an actual trial before screaming justice.
This is barely letting justice take its course (against the will of the whitehouse).
Here's what you can expect from the trial:
"I don't recall". - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -3/+25"AMEN"
- gyronic, on 08/27/2008, -0/+22ZZzzzzzzzzzzz
Shes already forgotten everything..........
I do not recall!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7IBvZlRqOTw - zeusthemoose, on 08/27/2008, -2/+21I forgot to add this:
How about we just give the democrats a chance to turn this country around. Look at what the last eight years gave us while under republican control. McCain represents a continuation of those policies. Just about everyone can agree that this country is headed in the wrong direction, and McCain would shout on his inauguration "Full steam ahead!"
Many here claim that we did give the democrats a chance by electing them to congress two years ago, but you have to realize that it was still Bush who signed all the bills they passed into law. They had to compromise with Bushes desires or risk him vetoing everything that came to his table. Last election, the Democrats lost because they were labeled as "obstructionists". So they changed their tactics to our dismay. So, I put forth to you all a simple request. Give a Democratic president a chance. Cast your vote for Obama in November. It is uncertain if Obama will steer this country in a different direction, I could be wrong and he could be just another side of the same coin. But we can be certain that McCain WILL be a continuation of the last eight years. Obama is uncertain, McCain is a known, that is all we have to go on. I know come this November, I will have hope for a better tomorrow and cast my ballot for Obama/Biden. I can only hope that others will come to the same conclusion and do the same. - uselessexpert, on 08/27/2008, -0/+18Damn....More fuel to add to the Bush fire!!!
Thank God there is a judge with balls out there to stand up to this administration! - kolyana, on 08/27/2008, -0/+18I concur with several of the posts already made - being forced to testify means squat with this administration: they just sit there with a dumb-struck expression as if to say "What? Little ol' me?" and plead executive privilege, the 5th, or a lack of memory.
It's total BS and this little dog and pony show isn't going to be any different. - dafragsta, on 08/27/2008, -0/+15Yeah, if I had a nickel for every teflon stonewalling that a Bush staffer has given a congressional hearing, I'd be eating a Ruth Chris stake for lunch.
- Jhiaxuz, on 08/27/2008, -0/+12A dead woman can't testify. You just wait.
- richirwin, on 08/27/2008, -0/+12And to think that she was Bush's original nominee to serve on the Supreme Court.
- omegared, on 08/27/2008, -0/+11good being in the government does not mean that someone ise above the law. Maybe the warrantless tapping and lying to the American about to get into a war should also be looked into.
- mtekk, on 08/27/2008, -0/+11Just bury him (and report him), his link is very NSFW.
- malex, on 08/27/2008, -0/+11So your argument is that the judicial system is worthless?
- jerfoo, on 08/27/2008, -0/+11Bastille Day...
(appropriate) - rayjitsu, on 08/27/2008, -1/+12There's a catch. Both can claim executive privilege when questioned by Congress... And I'm sure we'll hear "executive privilege" more from them than "POW" from McCain.
- Kohaxx, on 08/27/2008, -4/+14I can't digg you enough zeusthemoose, radical idealism just doesn't work in the world of politics.
Last time people choose not to vote because they didn't think Kerry was the "perfect" candidate we had 4 more years of Bush. The same choice is facing us again and the blood of the people lost in fruitless wars will be on your hands again. - an0nymous, on 08/27/2008, -0/+9At the least she should have to say the words.
- jeremyduffy, on 08/27/2008, -0/+9If she did, it's even better because she'll spill absolutely everything for immunity. And they'd grant it to her. I know I would... bigger fish to fry and all.
- Waiting2awake, on 08/27/2008, -2/+11Me too. How sad is that?
- treehugger87, on 08/27/2008, -0/+9Replying "I don't recall" when testifying before congress should be a crime.
- funkyloki, on 08/27/2008, -0/+9Or how about stopping the oil companies from selling the oil they drilled here to other countries, and have them drill on the lands they all ready lease. Yeah that's right. The oil companies are selling 10% to 15% of the oil they get out of the American soil, because it fetches a better price then selling it domestically. and they do not drill on a lot of the land they are currently leasing from us. Why? IDK, but if they want new land to drill on (on or off shore), then they need to give back the land that they are not using. Once the selling of domestic oil internationally is stopped, and they return the leases on the land they are not and plan not to use, then we can talk about opening up more drilling.
- jeremyduffy, on 08/27/2008, -1/+9Last I checked lying IS a crime. The only problem is proving it, but that's what juries are for.
- dafragsta, on 08/27/2008, -1/+9The church lady be accountable to anyone else but God and Darth Bush? NEVER!
- gyronic, on 08/27/2008, -4/+12bwhahahhahahhhahhahah
‘Clinton did it too’ defense!!! wow, how old is this?
Somebody rapes your sister and shoots your father.. so raping your sister is ok?
Yes Clinton replaced them all, as did Reagan, Daddy Bush and GW did when he started his first term. After each newly elected president takes office ALL the the attorneys are usually replaced. .... "Clinton fired 93 attorneys in 1993". Great! Thats normal! No one made a peep when GW tossed out all of them at the start of his first term.
However, its the first time ANY president has handpicked a few and fired them mid-term when ALL of their professional reviews were excellent.Congress wanted to know why.
Bush replaced eight specific prosecutors, for purely political reasons. Which cannot be confirmed because their ex-boss Gonzales... forgot he was the AG.
So after this very elementary response... I hope you can now understand... "What's the big deal?"
Calling me fat doesn't make you skinny.
I hope you dont plan on working in law. - stretch611, on 08/27/2008, -0/+8But she was nominated by Bush, so it is understandable.
- mrzeero, on 08/27/2008, -0/+8They want to get her in there quickly, so if she does perjure herself, Bush can pardon her before he leaves office.
- fxu1989, on 08/27/2008, -2/+10"AMEN?"
- treehugger87, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7She can go live with Ken Lay
- inactive, on 08/27/2008, -5/+12True.
But let's not retarded on purpose.
We have WATCHED these crimes take place.
You may think that a trial by jury is neccessary, but I saw the crime with my own eyes. - pintomp3, on 08/27/2008, -1/+8all politicians should be on truth serum during their campaign and during their term in office.
- kent1146, on 08/27/2008, -3/+10@pintomp3:
You think it would really matter? People hear what they want to hear, because most of them focus on themselves, and are ignorant to the good of society. I'd bet even if someone came out and said these lines, they would still get voted into office:
- "I'm just here to abuse my power in office to screw the middle class so that my fat old rich white "good-ol-boys" friends can become richer".
- I believe everyone should believe in Christianity, or be ostracized as a heathen.
- Life is sacred, and begins at conception. Anybody who opposes this view doesn't deserve to live.
- The government should run this country like a police state, because the people are too dumb to know what is good for them.
- ***** the environment. I'd rather be rich and air-conditioned.
- I promise not to raise taxes. Everything we pay for will be on credit. Let our kids handle paying it back. - mrfguitar, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7Repeat after me, Harriet. "I don't recall." And again.
- mithrasinvictus, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7She'll be getting away with it after the 21st too. Expect to hear a lot of speeches about "bridging the bi-partisan divide" and other appeasement slogans.
