What about the accuser? - jggr, on 10/21/2007, -3/+69The accuser will probably sign some million dollar book deal and do a talk show tour about how her psychosis almost ruined her life.
- twertyto, on 10/21/2007, -1/+60Shove it up your ass Nancy Grace.

- thailand1972, on 10/21/2007, -3/+40In many feminists circles, I've no doubt they still **DO** believe the lacrosse players are guilty. At best, a lot of feminists blogs will go very quiet with this announcement (why do they NEVER denounce false accusation?).
Sorry for the tangent - I'm glad this got high profile only to highlight that this does happen a lot (false accusation). I hope the guys prosecute the false accuser at a later date. The fact that she never got prosecuted just gives a big green light to future false accusers. Be careful who you date / invite into your home (advice feminists give women, but it's advice many people are giving to guys now too). - reasonyousmile, on 10/21/2007, -1/+36She gets to go on being her? *shrug*

Your comments could probably be phrased in a less negative way to reflect the reality that you are referring to.
In America, blacks are viewed through the lenses of criminality, immaturity and ignorance. The media outlets that portray black women (such as the stripper in the duke lacrosse case) as vaunted victims are also guilty of protecting themselves when their assertions are proven incorrect.
Intolerance is bad, no matter the form that it takes - unfortunately, the media (and it's patrons) have become intolerant of privileged whites and the affluent while protecting the filth and criminal intent. That these (and other) truths are self evident to all but most of the intellectual caste is simply par for the course.
Nappy headed ho's aren't the problem. They're always going to exist. The problem is that they're given airtime in a guilt driven reconciliatory attempt by affluent white program directors who feel guilty about their privileged station in life.
The majority of blacks in America aren't represented by the jesse jacksons and al sharptons of the world. The true majority of blacks in America aren't criminal or ignorant and are diminished by the ignorant and pathetically feeble minded actions by the mainstream media and beyond-left wing organizations who believe that the ends justify the means.
But to what end? The pendulum swings both ways. - ZWarren69, on 10/11/2007, -3/+34***** that scumbag! Rape cases get this treatment a lot, I am glad he is getting punished.
- andrewcool, on 10/11/2007, -6/+34It was sad how like everybody thought the duke players were guilty right away.
- TheLoneWolf071, on 10/21/2007, -1/+29Good Riddance.
- logicalnoise, on 10/21/2007, -3/+29what about Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson? They exploited every surface of this investigation for their own profits. Maybe the lacrosse players should include both these morons in a civil suit for slander.
- BTrey, on 10/21/2007, -5/+27The problem is that you (and evidently the rest of the country) think that Nifong is an aberration, and that his actions were vile and unprecedented. You're wrong. Nifong didn't do anything that doesn't happen every day in this country. The only difference is that this happened to be a case that caught media attention, and the accused were rich white boys. Had they been anything else, they'd either have plea-bargained or been convicted of a crime they didn't commit. Their lives would have been all but destroyed. Nobody would give a rats arse, Nifong would have never been questioned and he'd still be performing his duties like scores of other prosecutors across this country.
Our prosecution system isn't concerned with justice. It doesn't care about accuracy. Prosecutors aren't judged on finding the guilty party. Prosecutors are judged on convictions. Period. If the person they convict happens to be innocent - well, sucks to be him. It's still a mark in the win column for the prosecutor. Our justice system is completely and utterly scrod. And don't think this is going to change anything. It'll affect things the same way Rodney King affected police corruption and brutality. Everyone will be a bit more careful for a week or two, then things will go back to normal. Ho hum. - kethraal, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23He should be tried. After all, lying in a court of law is a crime.
Also, the "victim" should also be tried for perjury as well, given her egregiously damaging lies... - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+18Justice prevails once more this week
- dakboy, on 10/11/2007, -2/+20"The majority of blacks in America aren't represented by the jesse jacksons and al sharptons of the world"
And yet they still allow these 2 jackasses to steal the spotlight, standing up and saying "we speak for all African-Americans." The black community in the US needs to stand up, say "these men do not represent us," and get them out of the media. - TantrooM, on 10/21/2007, -1/+17Now if only some media figures would get fired... Nancy...
He didn't follow the evidence... and it bit him.
Also, this may sound *****, but I think the Duke guy is lucky he is an athlete in a Class A school... I mean, if he was any less she could have gotten away with this *****. I wonder how many times this happens to non-celebs... - jeffiek, on 10/21/2007, -0/+16"good lawyer" ????
- r2pro, on 10/21/2007, -0/+14What about the accused students own faculty? The group of 88 ultra left liberal arts professors who openly supported the accuser and denounced the students. They should be sent packing too.

- xGORDOx, on 10/21/2007, -0/+13The 88 Professors at Duke as well as Sharpton and Jackson have still yet to apologize.
The Black Panthers who protested and made threats in front of these kids house have yet to apologize.
What are they waiting for? - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Well deserved.
- AnthonyC, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Justice will only be served if he does jail time. Same with the accuser.
- slicky803, on 10/11/2007, -0/+12Because as a servant of the court, he's held to a standard that requires him to be honest and diligent in his work.
If the court system can't trust its officers, then how can it function?
As if there weren't enough cases where the justice system fails..People get off when they shouldn't, or get nailed when they shouldn't, like in this case. The court can't be perfect, but it can at least try to weed out those who are blatantly incompetent. - thailand1972, on 10/21/2007, -1/+12@pintomp3:-
"actually, feminists hate false accusers because they make it harder on legitimate rape cases."
I never hear feminists supporting your claim. They go quiet. They're in denial about false accusation and feel that to make a stand against it is to somehow be 'anti-woman'. No, what you get from feminists is all the psychobabble about how the false accuser had a traumatised childhood (normally traumatised by men of course). A grudging acceptance belies their own bias against men. Their belief is that women are morally superior to men and so false accusation is the dirty secret they would rather not accept.
Feminists would get more support if they would just be honest sometimes. You can't divide society up into men and women. If feminists want support, they should support men too - and they will find more male support by doing so. Did I just describe a normal, healthy society? - dakboy, on 10/11/2007, -1/+10The media convicted the players right away. 90% of people take what they see in the media at face value, which is why "everyone" thought the players did it.
If you go back and follow the timeline, though, around the 3rd day the story was in the media, the accuser's story, as well as Nifong's, started to smell rotten. Inconsistencies were popping up and those who kept their minds open instead of jumping to a conclusion when they first heard the news started to realize that things didn't add up. - dasluvaluva, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8I hope that slut stripper gets time for abusing the system and defaming these boys.
- widman, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8What about journalists that pressed this? They ruined this people's lives more than the prosecutor and the accuser. There are false accusations every day, there's nothing wrong with that. The problem is the mainstream media taking part and accusing on national TV and newspapers.
- endustry, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9The race card will never be the same again.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9Well said btrey.
If he were the only jerk prosecutor to grandstand for the camera over sex cases, it would be sad.
What is really tragic is that prosecutors routinely grandstand sex cases. It is common for prosecutors, who have to run for that office, to tell voters how many perverts that they've put away.
Sex crimes are almost always "he said, she said" situations. FBI statistics warn that almost a third of new alleogations simply aren't true. They are so devastating and require very little physical evidence, it is very easy to game the system.
It makes you wonder how many "convicted sex offenders" really deserve that label which is essentially a death sentence inside. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6His own political future. That is all this was ever about, Nifong getting the black vote.
- bobbknight, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5This is what most people miss in this whole sordid affair:
Right now Mike Nifong is doing everything he can to keep his civil service pension, that is the last thing he should be allowed to get.
He should not allowed to retire, and get a pension, he only did this to get reelected, and be eligible to receive a pension. - goofporter, on 10/21/2007, -3/+8@btrey
You get an amen from me on that. I have bit of experience with the criminal justice system and in every case where I knew the facts it was obvious that the prosecutor lied, the police lied, the lawyers lied, the defendants lied. Truth or even a stab at it was nowhere to be found in the building. What's worse is that everyone knew it and no one cared. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+12Best porno name. Duke LaCrosse.
- dakboy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5If he signs on with any political candidate they'll lose a lot of potential votes.
- pcp777, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5This guy needs to go down. He basically ruined these guys life for what?
- misterdiggles, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6I think the jerk should pay up too. How much has it cost those families to defend their innocent sons? The Legal system is not Free in America. You have to have money to be innocent.
- brianmcuasito, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5jessie jackson should come and appologize for this fiasco.. he seems to demand it every time a non black gets into this situation.
- ectocooler, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5you know what digg needs more of? idiots who put the word "BREAKING" in front of all of their submissions.
- itsme92, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4@widman
The problem is when somebody is accused of a crime, it's on the top of the front page of all the papers. When they are found innocent, it's always a column buried inside. The media does not help accused criminals one bit when they portray the news in that way. So many people have their reputations destroyed for life despite being found innocent, because the media only reports on the accusation and not the verdict. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Adios *****! You played the race card and lost it all. Should be a lesson to all other would be race baiters out there.

- fossilnews, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Justice is served.
Edit: Mea culpa newportbeachguy posted this below. - andwoo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5@dakboy:
How do they stand up and do that? do they do it at their weekly group meeting? The news stations continue to put them on, much like they put Jerry Falwell on, and unfortunately, that's just the way it goes. I think "they," as if they're homogeneous, spoke pretty loudly about it when the two mentioned people would run for president and not get any % of the vote. And to think that any one person can speak for "black" America is just silly, just as no one person can speak for "white" America, or speak for all Latinos, or any other racial or ethnic group.
@kobewan:
and you wonder why black people think racism still exists?? - DeusAbNoct, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Agreed.
- givemereplay, on 10/21/2007, -1/+4The BAR association isn't a governmental agency. If you have a problem with the BAR organization, take it to them. Land of the free, land of the ignorant.
- thewebguy, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3take that nancy grace, the final nail in your credibility's coffin
- ATHEISTinHELL, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Not peep is heard? Do you watch cable news(entertainment)? People have gone so paranoid about racism we have those ***** hate crime laws. People should be in trouble for hurting or killing someone. They shouldn't get in more trouble because they hated the victim based on their race. Isn't hurting someone because you hated them a hate crime?
- stepnw1f, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2That idiot did more harm to real rape victims by manufacturing this ***** for his own personal agenda. He deserves to be disbarred!
