- siszam, on 10/12/2007, -6/+40Please stop using Breaking on everything. Yeesh.
- BobbyMC, on 07/21/2008, -7/+33Buried for you breaking it. If you can't handle a news story without breaking it, don't touch it in the first place.
- halleyscomet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+25I wonder what the GOP plans to do with the "People who voted for democrats" list?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19Hmmm...good question. Certainly nothing that would have to do with a domestic terror list. No way.
- mulling, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Wow, this guy should do some serious time behind bars. ***** with voters is some seriously fascist *****, up there with cops planting evidence. I hope they hang the degenerate pig.
- Cavorticus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12-BREAKING-
"It is inappropriate for a state employee to be both overseeing and selling voter lists." ???
If this state employee has access to this data and is selling it, he has stolen state property and that is a felony offense. Am I wrong?
If I took all the logins from where I work (which I have full access to) and tried to sell them online, what do you think would happen? - bwhite, on 10/12/2007, -4/+10Nothing is ever breaking by the time it makes it to the front page of Digg

Class Action Lawsuit - sleepykit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Considering first the IT guy for the Denver election commission basically screwed that election over to hell in November and now this, I'm surprised this state even bothers calling itself a democracy. It's May now and we've just had mayoral elections, and we're still accounting for the previous one.
*grrr* - gooddaysunshine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5not the first time

- fotbr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It may or may not be a felony, depending on that state's laws. It probably should be though.
- n1ghtw0lf81, on 10/12/2007, -5/+9buried for use of the word BREAKING. if we don't stop using this word, it will consume the entire front page.
- leighsah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Having worked with the GOP voter lists here in Florida, the GOP has some incredible algorithms which predict voter turn-out by cross-referencing magazine subscriptions, cable subscriptions, season ticket holdings, past voting behavior, etc. (The Dems have this too, but are a ways behind because they only started doing this about two years ago while the GOP started six years ago.)
The folks buying this data must be amateurs or not be members/affiliated with the executive committee because the GOP's database is pretty incredible. Besides, all voter data except who you voted for and your ssn are public records anyway (at least in Florida). Why buy it? - demicritter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Bust out the tin-foil conspiracy theorists! A little bit of sketchy information can go a long, long way.
- vatosplace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is just begging for an independent investigation from the US Attorney's office…oh, wait… You would need a justice department not mired in a partisan political scandal...
- th3heretic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3My god, there are 3 breaking stories in a row !
- chaos7, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2yea anything to do with "Lost" isn't BREAKING news..
- dankenstein, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"Also in his online resume, Kopelman states that from 1999 to 2002 he worked in Washington, DC under the 'brilliant leadership of Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo.'"
Tancredo:
- Doesn't believe in evolution (and other facts like gravity, the electromagnetic laws that make his communication possible, etc)
- Associates with people known to illegally profit from voter data
- Called Miami a "third world country"
Yeah he's not getting the nomination, go ron paul - mikelieman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Hanging the ***** will ensure a ZERO RECIDIVISM RATE!
- snoonan77, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Time to move my servers to another colo.
- wanderindiana, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0The story did break yesterday when this was first dugg, at the close of business Thursday.
It has since been updated with a comment from Secretary of State Coffman and more supporting information. ePluribus Media, a group of citizen journalists, "broke" this story; i.e., they did the investigating, made the contacts, got the quotes, and were the first to report it.
Now if you want to criticize the original digger for failing to update the title, fine. Take it up with him/her. But the lag by diggers in taking interest in a breaking story is a lousy reason to bury it. - YankeesSuck, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Buried for using "Breaking:".
- gerbil20, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1*BREAKING*BREAKING*BREAKING*Democrats are loons!!!
Oh it is not breaking.
It is not even news.
Buried as a non-story.
Enjoy your fit of vapors. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Why is this being dugg down, the article isn't specific.
- DivisibleByZero, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0According to the article the state is selling the data anyhow, right? So the guy's a jackass if he's undercutting his employer, selling their data on the side.... But can it be treated like some sort of political conspiracy?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1What specific information did he sell?
- stepnw1f, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1Why comment if you won't talk about the substance of this article? Hmmmmm... because it makes the GOP look like the fascist criminal pricks they really are?
- robinator08, on 10/12/2007, -6/+2BREAKING MY ASS
- superdupergc, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1we plan to kill them < /conspiracy> < /joke> < /pleasedontkillme>
- Dumbledorito, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1I'm sure "Electric Boogaloo" would have shown up in a headline if it didn't use up half of the character limit.
- SpaceTycoon1, on 10/12/2007, -9/+2And I wonder which candidates bought the data? Ron Paul? Guess again.
- cheti12, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3i think since most people come here for their news, in a sense it really is breaking...
annoying nonetheless. - mach32, on 10/12/2007, -15/+2BREAKING:
lol
