Hell ***** no. - ZenMojo, on 11/07/2007, -4/+155LOL!!!! For those of you confused, I provide a dramatic reenactment....
Kucinich: Impeach Cheney!
Democrats: Are you nuts! ***** the left, we're trying to swing hard to the right to pick up extra constituents!
Republican: Impeach Cheney? How dare y-- wait...you're trying to what? Oh, ***** that *****, yeah, let's debate this! - inactive, on 11/08/2007, -1/+97this is getting dugg so fast, you'd think we were talking about the next version of the iphone
- thefandango, on 11/07/2007, -3/+97you sir, have got to be genuinely retarded. Cheney protecting freedom is like Cancer protecting your colon.
- inactive, on 11/07/2007, -2/+92Kucinich 08: BALLS. OF. TITANIUM.
- jveezy, on 11/09/2007, -1/+91How the hell does a 15 minute vote last 1 hour? No wonder nothing gets done.
- notque, on 11/08/2007, -4/+90Dennis Kucinich just called for a 15 minute vote that is recorded on the tabling of this vote.
- TheRealAlzabo, on 11/07/2007, -7/+83Remember that no one died because of Clinton's BJ nor his lie about it.
- phnx0221, on 11/09/2007, -1/+77This is weird. Not two minutes ago, I was watching as this bill was getting killed, meaning that 333 wouldn't see the light of day. Now, I'm watching as the republicans are voting to keep it active. wtf? I'm hopeful, but really confused.
On a plus though, regardless, c-span keeps repeating his impeachment resolution over and over, listing the reasons for his call for impeachment. That's awesome. - qubitz, on 11/09/2007, -1/+73I'm glad I voted for Kucinich, makes me feel like my vote actually counts.
- Me1000, on 11/07/2007, -1/+66(for the Vote to Table)
170 YEA
242 NAY
This resolution is getting voted on! - Chakat, on 11/07/2007, -5/+67Because the current democratic leadership are a bunch of ***** that don't want to upset the status quo and risk their seats for the good of the nation.
- Typhoon2009, on 11/07/2007, -2/+63***** worthless Democrats in Congress =/ where's the ***** CHANGE you promised us Pelosi
- formergthing, on 11/07/2007, -0/+59Here's the recap so far:
First they had to vote on if they were going to vote on it.
Then they had to vote on if they weren't going to vote on it.
The speaker was a dick.
They just voted again on whether they're going to vote on it.
Now they're going to vote on the same thing again because the vocal vote wasn't obvious enough.
Next they're going to vote on whether someone else should decide whether to pass it.
(I find it amazing that anything gets done) - formergthing, on 11/07/2007, -15/+71Remember when we impeached Clinton and it didn't actually do anything.
Awesome. - LeeSoong, on 11/07/2007, -17/+72Great News Everyone! Motion to Table Impeachment FAILED.
Motion to Refer 333 Impeachment of VP Cheney coming up next - forget that!
JUST DO IT!
IMPEACH CHENEY or Invade IRAN - WW III coming up next.
Putin has clearly stated that IF the USA invades Iran, THEN, Russia will defend it.
Russia, the E.U. and Even China have investments in Iran, and they are not
going to sit by and let the USA gobble up the Middle East Oil supply for itself.
House Resolution 333 :
http://kucinich.house.gov/SpotlightIssues/document ...
The world protested the war with Iraq.
This time interested parties have openly stated they WILL defend Iran.
Restore the Republic, Defend the Constitution: http://www.ronpaul2008.com - jsdratm, on 11/07/2007, -0/+52The confusion in this thread shows just how rarely we all watch congress in action...
- EXreaction, on 11/07/2007, -1/+53Christ, could the video player be any smaller? Can't even see what is going on at all.
- notque, on 11/07/2007, -0/+50I think they are betting the American population won't understand, and hate the Democrats for it. This is truly crazy!
- monkeyrun, on 11/07/2007, -3/+49Democrats want to kill it, Republicans don't?
weird. - Frei, on 11/07/2007, -3/+48My faith in a god could be restored very shortly. This needs to pass.
- inactive, on 11/07/2007, -1/+44Anyone who says they saw this coming is a goddamn liar - but one thing is for certain, the debate will be bad for Dems who want to oppose impeachment, good for Republicans who want to oppose impeachment, good for Kucinich's presidential campaign because it proves he's being taken seriously, and good for the majority of Americans who want to see this issue addressed in Congress. Based on this analysis I can see why Republicans want to debate it. It also might explain why the CSPAN video feed is broadcasting the sound of one congressman laughing like a jackal.
- parabolee, on 11/07/2007, -2/+43Thanks watching now.
- parabolee, on 11/07/2007, -0/+39Yeah what the hell is happening why are the Republican suddenly voting in force to keep it alive while they were almost unanimously against it 10 minutes ago! They had 1 vote Nay 15 minutes ago!!!!!
Wierd! - chronichyjinx, on 11/07/2007, -2/+40***** Realplayer
- simpleid, on 11/07/2007, -0/+37damn it i hate real player, why do people bother using it anymore
- iching, on 11/07/2007, -3/+40Hoyer could have tabled the FISA vote in August but didn't and now we are stuck with that bill rather getting a bill together later that restored the constitution.
255 YEA 155 NAY BTW. - obliviousfool, on 11/07/2007, -2/+38This is a vote on the motion to table, or kill, the resolution.
We're rooting for the nays. Well, if you care about democracy, you're rooting for the nays! - notque, on 11/07/2007, -2/+36http://kucinich.house.gov/UploadedFiles/int2.pdf
Text of H.R. 333 - inactive, on 11/10/2007, -2/+35AFTER THIS DEBACLE, IT IS CLEAR AND EVIDENT TO ALL OF US, THAT CONGRESS IN INCAPABLE OF PERFORMING ITS DUTY AS A CHECK AND BALANCE AGAINST THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH. FURTHERMORE, IT IS CLEAR THAT THEY ARE INCAPABLE OF SIMPLY VOTING ON A TOPIC - THEIR PRIMARY JOB. (for petes sake!)
IT IS THE DECISION OF THIS CITIZEN, OF WHOM THE US CONSTITUTION WAS WRITTEN, THAT BOTH THE EXECUTIVE AND LEGISLATIVE BRANCHES HAVE FAILED IN THEIR DUTY TO UPHOLD AND DEFEND THE CONSTITUION OF THE UNITED STATES. THE JUDICIAL BRANCH IS NOT INVOLVED AND IS HELPLESS TO ASSIST THE AMERICAN PEOPLE IN THIS CRISIS.
I HEARBY CALL ON A NEW CONSTITUTIONAL AMMENDMENT, WHICH ENABLES A 4TH CHECK AND BALANCE - THE WILL OF THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY. WHEN CALLED UPON, A VOTE OF NO-CONFIDENCE BY THE PEOPLE OF THIS COUNTRY WILL FORCE AN IMMEDIATE CALL FOR NEW ELECTIONS FOR THE OFFICE OF PRESIDENT, SENATE, AND HOUSE.
AND IM TYPING IN ALL CAPS BECAUSE IT SOUNDS LOUDER.
Folks, we need to get out from in between mom and dad fighting. This is OUR country. We need an ammendment that helps us reclaim it when they simply wont. The only OTHER check we have is the 2nd Ammendment. But running off to Capitol Hill, blazing guns, isnt going to work so well. - clogger3030, on 11/10/2007, -2/+34Congress is a like a monastery . So full of useless pussies.
- Neiby, on 11/09/2007, -1/+33This really doesn't make any sense at all. Why are the Democrats voting largely to kill the bill while the Republicans are largely voting to let it proceed? I must be misunderstanding something. I truly do not understand this.
- damonic, on 11/07/2007, -0/+30OMG! No wonder nothing gets done! I suggest we outsource congress.
- bagelpirate, on 11/09/2007, -1/+31What an amazing day this would be if HR333 went through.
- rickyx2001, on 11/07/2007, -0/+28Listening to Kucinich talk now on CSPAN...he is 100% right in what he said: this is not about party lines or about Cheney himself. This is about checks and balances - to show that the executive branch cannot skirt the law and abuse the war privileges, as this administration has done by starting a war based on lies.
- Typhoon2009, on 11/07/2007, -0/+28Come on, we need some divine intervention to let this pass...
- King0007, on 11/07/2007, -1/+28This is why nothing gets done....First Vote to vote and then vote to send it to a committee to get voted on?? Then bring it back on the floor for a vote?? Nice gov't we have!
- geddon, on 11/07/2007, -2/+29It means to kill by a simple majority vote.
- hokie47, on 11/07/2007, -0/+26Realplayer wanted to default all my media types to their ***** player. I had to op-out of like 40 different files types. ***** you Realplayer
- TheSabre, on 11/07/2007, -2/+28Actually, "kill" is a little misleading. I'm not sure what you intended, but tabling a bill puts it back on the House "table" and it can be introduced at a later time. There are strict measures that say if you actually kill a bill, you cannot reintroduce it that same Congressional session. So, it's not really killing a bill, it's temporarily setting it aside and it can be introduced in the same Congressional session.
- TheRealAlzabo, on 11/07/2007, -1/+27You ding dongs, that LAST vote was whether to TABLE it, meaning that failure to pass is a GOOD thing. Table-ing KILLS it.
- peacebyanymeans, on 11/07/2007, -0/+26This was to table it retard. Nays = good.
- torched, on 11/07/2007, -5/+29I spy with my little eye Ron Paul in the bottom right corner!
- notque, on 11/08/2007, -2/+26http://hoyer.house.gov/ called for the Tabling. Steny Hoyer.
They are replaying the Kucinich bringing it up right now. - burnedmind, on 11/07/2007, -3/+27Man, I want to see this so bad! But not bad enough to download Real Player.
- evilmregg, on 11/07/2007, -0/+24It's certainly strange how the Dems are voting to table it and the Republicans are voting not to. I guess the Democrats are too afraid to take the issue on and the Republicans think it's a good chance to give the Dems a black eye. How backwards, our political process...
- notque, on 11/07/2007, -0/+23It's all republicans too. It's almost as if they think this is a good fight for them to have. Wow. This is nuts!
- obliviousfool, on 11/07/2007, -0/+22The existence of this thread shows how rarely the action in congress is actually interesting!
- inactive, on 11/07/2007, -1/+22170 needs 218.
- Sneakernets, on 11/07/2007, -0/+21I have to agree with you on this one. With all the available FLASH applets, JAVA applets, and other plugins that work much better than REALPLAYER, some places still require this horrible piece of software.
