- kconnors, on 05/05/2009, -4/+415It doesn't matter if he did or didn't smoke pot in the past. This entire marijuana situation is a rational decision. There is no valid reason for why it is illegal.
- CopsSayLegalize, on 05/05/2009, -4/+306If you want to make this national debate actually happen, you can support a congressional blue ribbon commission at http://www.DrugWarDebate.com
- CivicTV, on 08/14/2009, -5/+224I'm Detective John Kimble and I'm for legalization.
- floridiot2, on 05/06/2009, -5/+170IT COULD BE A TUMAH AND SMOKING THIS HELPS AAUUULLLUHGHHGH
- EyeLoveEwe, on 05/05/2009, -4/+154Amazing how finding that 56% of your constituency disagrees with one's old (stated) position will cause one to rethink that position.
The momentum is building. Prohibitionist fear-mongering is powerless against the digital age.
I just feel bad for law enforcement who will lose their low-hanging fruit and be forced to do real police work. ;) - kemp34, on 05/05/2009, -38/+183If he didn't, he would be an intense hypocrite as he openly smoked marijuana in his past.
(see, recent presidents of the u.s.) - itc518, on 05/05/2009, -4/+146I love seeing more and more people in support of the logical decision for our country.
- flaminglips, on 05/06/2009, -2/+136That wouldn't make him a hypocrite at all. People are allowed to change their beliefs as long as they condemn their own past actions. For example, a former drug addict can tell kids to stay off of drugs because of bad personal experiences and it wouldn't be considered hypocritical. It's all relative.
I'm all for legalization, but not for dumb arguments. - DaDiggydiggyDOC, on 05/06/2009, -2/+91I'm just glad that he handled it like a mature, real person should instead of dodging the question all together.
- akchrs, on 05/06/2009, -10/+97"Arnold Schwarzenegger Says We Must Consider Legalizing Pot"
And Barack Obama says no while laughing at the stoners. - TheJimid, on 05/05/2009, -1/+57All the Governors from Predator are coming around these days I hear.
- zip22, on 05/06/2009, -0/+55why would a drug dealer push for legalization? dealers and smugglers are the two groups that would lose the most.
- bkrejchi, on 05/06/2009, -3/+51I'm a cop you idiot!
- ZombieSociety, on 05/06/2009, -7/+53No, not really. He smoked it, never campaigned for or against it.

- tmyprod, on 05/06/2009, -1/+36But the Blacks and Mexicans will steal our white women if we legalize pot!!!
!!! - faskippy, on 05/06/2009, -2/+3610 Politicians who experimented with pot, and one who didn't:
New York mayor Ed Koch said he did it once "like everybody else", to see what it was like. He claimed not to have liked it.
Georgia rep. Newt Gingrich said he smoked it once, but "it didn't have any efffect on me".
Tennessee sen. Al Gore said he smiked it "several times" in college and in Vietnam but "it did not become a significant part of my life". (Asked on a 2000 MTV special about the college years of the candidates, whether he "chose to" smoke pot as a youth, he answered, "well, I don't think anyone made you smoke".)
RI sen. Claiborne Pell said he smike it "many years ago" but "didn't like it and never tried it again".
Former AZ gov. Bruce Babbitt said he smoked it "back in the sixties, in a culture of widespread use".
FL sen. Lawton Chiles smiked it "once in private over seventeen years ago, and I never tried it again".
FL rep. Connie Mack, after having denied it for years, said he smoked it "more than once, but not often".
Presidential candidate Bill clinton said, "when I was at school in England, I experimented with marijuana a time or two, and I didn't like it, and I didn't inhale, and I didn't try it again".
NJ gov. Christine Todd whitman said, "unlike the president, I inhaled. And then I threw up".
NY mayoral candidate Mike Bloomberg said, "you bet I did, and I enjoyed it".
Resigned president Richard Nixon's spokesman, John Taylor, said his boss "has never smoked pot". Asked how he knew, Taylor said, "I just feel absolutely certain about it. Don't you?"
- scamper22, on 05/06/2009, -0/+34GET DOWN!!!
SMOKE UP!!! - faskippy, on 05/06/2009, -4/+36 "although he is not necessarily supporting the idea."
I get so sick of hearing damn politicians and their doublespeak. So you think it's time to discuss it's positive attributes, and a way to get tax money from it, but you don't necessarily support it. Then don't friggin' bring it up! Just another meaningless statement to try to appeal to the advocates, without pissing off the opponents. Geez. - lamejoketeller, on 05/06/2009, -10/+42which one is a republican again?
I'm so confused! Republicans are supposed to be the only hypocrites!
/s - getoffmybridge, on 05/06/2009, -0/+31I need your clothes, your boots, and your marijuana cigarette.
- rackem, on 05/06/2009, -1/+30I think the considering has gone on too long. I would rather the headline read "Arnold Schwarzenegger Says We Must Legalize Pot"
- teknomaker18, on 05/06/2009, -0/+27He's got one on Obama that's for sure.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -1/+28There are plenty of non-hippie weed smokers out there. You just aren't looking.
- Wosat, on 05/06/2009, -1/+28Translation: "Marijuana could ruin your life. To prove it, we're going to ruin your life."
- Iggins, on 05/06/2009, -0/+27I'm looking at you, Obama....
- clvngodess, on 05/06/2009, -0/+26Thanks! Signed and supported.
- thatonekid393, on 05/06/2009, -0/+25Signed. Thanks for the opportunity. And good on Schwarzenegger for brining up the issue.
- inactive, on 05/06/2009, -1/+26Wow, stereotypes FTL. Hoo boy, I would've loved to see you during the civil rights movement. "The common perception of black people is as barbaric savages, and so of course it's okay to discriminate against them."
- broncfan23, on 05/06/2009, -1/+25The governator comes through!
- foofightrs777, on 05/06/2009, -0/+23The harsher the penalty equals the greater the profit for those not caught.
- Toadette, on 05/06/2009, -1/+24That would make sense if only hippies and losers smoked the plant.
- maz2331, on 05/06/2009, -0/+23Tossing someone in prison and destroying all future prospects they may have isn't "love" in any way. It's just flat-out tough, and stupid.

- fety, on 05/06/2009, -7/+26Who is your daddy and what does he do?
- ThePeacemaker02, on 05/06/2009, -2/+21Can't we just do this already. We need these politicians to grow some spines. There have been a ton of studies about the effects of pot and how non harmful it is. I know if I had a kid I would rather have him smoking pot than getting drunk out of his/her mind.
- lamejoketeller, on 05/06/2009, -1/+19you'd be surprised
- versualize, on 05/06/2009, -3/+21Officials against pot legalization, YOU'RE FIRED.
- SavageIndustrie, on 07/25/2009, -3/+21LOL!!!
- christoast, on 05/06/2009, -1/+18You're looking for something conclusive? You think these articles are just sensationalist?
Consider that we went from refer madness to prosecution to medical to THIS. Is this progress? Is it just me or is this paradigm about to shift big time? - Shawno1, on 05/06/2009, -3/+20I finally agreed with him this time!
