Certainly, some of the truths about our leaders, our decisions as a country, and our policies might be a bit too painful to swallow, however, we've compounded our current situation by keeping our eyes and ears closed shut! There have been red flags and warnings about something dirty and fishy for a long time, and most Americans chose to push that aside and repeat the empty rhetoric our president and his cohorts have been reciting.... "We are fighting terrorism ( we became the terrorists when we invaded Iraq); We are fighting for our Freedoms (what freedoms exactly?, Isn't Bush the only entity threatening our "Freedoms"?); We need to get those responsible for 9/11 to pay ("we" forgot them when we invaded Iraq).
Barak Obama was correct when he said that every American life lost in Iraq is a waste of life. What people should scream about is that Bush is the one who is wasiting all these invaluable lives!
Obama's statement does not take away the honor of the service of all service members in Iraq, in fact it demonstrates that he does recognize the value of the lives lost, something many are afraid to see. - MindyB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Analyze: you don't get it! He did not "impunge" the soldiers. He did not say the soldiers were a waste! He said that the death of the fallen soldiers was a waste of life. This means that he considers the lives of these soldiers to be extremely valuable! and should not have been wasted on a war that should have never happened, that did not further America's agenda against terrorism, that it was based on lies, that it is wasting valuable young American lives.
What he said, although very painful to admit, is a very true statement! And his statement does not, in anyway, take away from the honorable service most troop members have engaged in. It is not their fault they were sent to Iraq to fight a war that ended up hurting America in multiple ways. They went into service and into Iraq under orders by the commander and chief. They, like the rest of us, were lied to and decieved into believing they were being sent to further our efforts in our "war against terror". He, like those of us who see the truth for what it is, know the sacrifice our soldiers have made and we support and respect them, and they should be further supported and respected when they return (alive or fallen).
You are confusing two separate things. The 'war' in Iraq was and continues to be a waste of America's most valuable resources, its valiant young men and women of service, our economic stability, our spirit as a nation, and our international reputation. This 'war' in Iraq, which had nothing to do with the real "war on terror", has in fact increased our vulnerability of further attack, and everyday we are there that risk and vulnerability will continue to increase.
None of this is the fault of the troops themselves, and Obama never once insinuated anything of the like. Our president, our commander and chief is responsible and at fault to this disaster, and for the loss of vaulable lives. Our president is the one who is disregarding the lives of thousands of young valuable american men and women by sending them at harms way for no purpose other than to fulfill a greedy agenda that has nothing to do with our fight against terror.
It seems that we are all so caught up in partisan wars that we often miss what is really going on and who might trully be responsible. (Think again if you think I am a Democrat!) This is not a partisan issue, this is an issue of valuable American lives being wasted by a president who does not care how many young lives are lost as long as his greedy agenda is met. You should be angry at the author of this war! and the person responsible for the unnecessary loss of valuable lives. - Waiting2awake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1 Are you kidding? Those kids died for a corporation to make money - how is that not a waste? As an American, how can you say your brothers and sisters who have died in Iraq have died defending their country? Which is the defined role of said military, and since it is now a matter of historical fact that the evidence was intentionally cooked to go into Iraq, that is they lied, how is their deaths in defending corporate interests, based on lies, not a waste?
You can honour their belief's and love for their country, but their life's were spent for nothing but lies. In every conceivable measure that is a waste. - jcs_goog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I agree too. Join Diggers4Obama at

He is welcome to disagree with Bush but he doesn't need to impugned our soldiers. He should be ashamed of himself.
