"She bombed on Broadway!"
"Ron Paul would kill Obama in a debate on economics!"
"I'm going to shoot all over downtown on the weekend. I've got my new Nikon, tripod and telephoto lens and will have some great blow ups!"
That ought to keep them busy. - radiofrequency, on 03/23/2009, -34/+222Love freedom?
Love your guns?
Love your privacy?
Want to decide what to do with the land you own?
Want to keep the money you earn instead of handing it to federal and state government bureaucracies?
You insurgents, you. - 45superman, on 03/23/2009, -12/+130One of the things I find disturbing about this is that even many of the folks condemning it seem to have it not quite right. There's nothing wrong with being a militia member, unless one thinks "militia" is synonymous with racist/violent/subversive--none of which accurately apply to Constitutional militias.
- Landthatilove, on 03/23/2009, -23/+122What they really mean is, if you're not in lock step with one of the two major political parties, they're afraid of you. "Are You a Militia Member?" Yes.
:-D - dcodrea, on 03/23/2009, -18/+105WE are all militia members--not just morally, but legally, according to US Code.
TITLE 10, Subtitle A, PART I, CHAPTER 13
§ 311. Militia: composition and classes
I do find it interesting that Fox News, with it's multi-millions in resources, is just getting around to reporting on something we bloggers have been working on for almost two weeks. And care for him or not, I think it's downright unethical for them to report this story and not credit Alex Jones/Infowars for breaking it on March 11. - kemp34, on 03/23/2009, -13/+97The MIAC report is blatantly anti-American on its face.
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -36/+116The real shame is that some parents will gladly give these kids up to the new and improved version of slavery.
- lccat, on 03/23/2009, -87/+160If you are not in lock step with one of the two "major" political parties you are a threat to the United States? The little messiah obama's well funded Civilian Defense Force, Brown Shirts, will we knock your door down, if your still have one, wanting to see "your papers"!
- OldWiseOne, on 03/23/2009, -10/+79Guilty.
- jturbo, on 03/23/2009, -12/+73Watch out for those Terrorists carrying their pocket Constitutions...
- snapcase, on 03/23/2009, -1/+55Exactly. They are trying to equate a militia with domestic terrorism. Make militias = terrorism, then they can say that the 2nd amendment has gotta go.
- homah, on 03/23/2009, -8/+58Too bad people are deciding to make this into a partisan issue. The fact is, we should be standing up for the rights of people with opinions different than our own, lest one day our opinions be deemed those of a domestic terrorist. Non-pot smokers should be standing up for the rights of pot smokers. Non-gun owners should be standing up for the rights of gun owners. Non-third party/fringe candidate supporters should be standing up for the rights of those who do support those candidates.
- N3M3515, on 03/23/2009, -6/+54"Whenever governments mean to invade the rights and liberties of the people, they always attempt to destroy the militia, in order to raise an army upon their ruins."
Rep. Elbridge Gerry of Massachusetts - inactive, on 03/23/2009, -0/+47Correct!
A constitutional militia, a distinction recognized by 10 U.S.C. 311(a).
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in Government." -- Thomas Jefferson - inactive, on 03/23/2009, -9/+56Ha ha sooo funny, i hope it all BLOWS UP IN THEIR FACE !
- fugazied, on 03/23/2009, -7/+53You don't really own that land, it's a fiction designed to keep you happy.
- Ne007, on 03/23/2009, -8/+48If you like Ron Paul, you might be a Terrorist.
- dannykeene, on 03/23/2009, -20/+571984
- anarcurt, on 03/23/2009, -2/+36Watch where you take that camera, you cannot take pics in some public places (like NYC Subways).
- pickleprince, on 03/23/2009, -30/+63Calm down, Yosemite Sam.
- OldGuyFox, on 03/23/2009, -4/+36unfortunately malex, Fox news is right on this one.
The report came from Missouri. It was created by Homeland Security and given to law Enforcement Agencies.
Besides supporters of 3rd party candidates it also lists anyone who has watched the Zeitgeist Movies or America Freedom to Fascism as terrorists. - KittySpark1es, on 03/23/2009, -4/+35Last time I checked the constitution actually allowed for militias if the government got too out of hand.
- spyd3rweb, on 03/23/2009, -3/+33(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are—
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.
There it is a clear legal distinction between the National Guard and militia. - fugazied, on 03/23/2009, -18/+47The comments under that news article on the Fox site are a great example of ignorance in America. As usual it ranges from "The white man is victimised in the US", to "Obama is a socialist, we are doomed", to "I love guns and damn right I am in a militia waiting for the next revolution", to "Obama is responsible for the infringements of civil liberties done by the dept of homeland security" (hint: it was Bush), "How dare they use racial profiling when looking for members of the KKK, it's hypocrisies, they don't use it for finding those muslim terrorists at airports".
Bottom line: if anti-abortion whackos blow up abortion clinics, then yes they are terrorists. - inactive, on 03/23/2009, -11/+40"From my parent's basement, I spit at thee!"
- Landthatilove, on 03/23/2009, -10/+38"It is not uncommon for militia members to display Constitutional Party, Campaign for Liberty or Libertarian material."
So, if you believe in the constitution, you could be a terrorist threat to this socialist government. That sentance should say "It is not uncommon for Americans to display Constitutional Party, Campaign for Liberty or Libertarian material." - XombieRobot, on 03/23/2009, -0/+26Whatever political biases we have here in America, I think we can all mostly agree with your comment radio!
- inactive, on 03/23/2009, -10/+34Thritto.
- kemp34, on 03/23/2009, -7/+31I think a better description is Corporatist rather than Socialist. It may be leftward-leaning corporatism at the moment, but the true issue is the cronies who want to use hard working Americans as cattle. This needs to stop immediately.
- borez, on 03/23/2009, -26/+50Sorry, but If that's the accusation, then I'm guilty as charged. I will not lie down and be raped without one hell of a fight whilst someone is trying to enslave me into their vision of how my world should be. Period.
- homah, on 03/23/2009, -3/+26It's downright sad that your comment is being dugg up. The fact is most Paul supporters just want to obey the Constitution, keep a balanced budget, not take part in undeclared wars of aggression and generally be left alone so long as their activities don't infringe on the rights of others. If that makes one a domestic terrorist, then this isn't the United States that it used to be.
- onelikeseabass, on 03/23/2009, -2/+24You most certainly can take photos in the NYC subways. It's just that you'll be in trouble if you get caught.
- Tenlow, on 03/23/2009, -7/+29Technically every able bodied male in America between the ages of 18 and 25 is in the militia.

http://www.sss.gov/ - DevilInPgh, on 03/23/2009, -17/+38Oh, so NOW they talk about the threat of the Patriot Act, when its their guys who are supposedly "threatened" and not Quaker groups. I'm sure the next thing I'm going to read from Fixed Noise is an apologia for Eric Rudolph, the domestic terrorist who was harbored by rednecks in Appalachia for 8 or 9 years.
- jjvors, on 03/23/2009, -0/+20Sorry to be ignorant guys, but what's the deal with taking pictures in the subway? Is there a law against it? If so, what is it, and why?
- OldGuyFox, on 03/23/2009, -1/+21Here malex.
just read the report for yourself.
you decide!
http://www.infowars.com/secret-state-police-report ... - inactive, on 03/23/2009, -4/+23A constitutional militia, a distinction recognized by 10 U.S.C. 311(a). This then makes the GOVERNMENT of the United States a terrorist too! ROFL Stupid is as stupid does.
"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in Government." -- Thomas Jefferson - vroom101, on 03/23/2009, -4/+23Here's the full Missouri Information Analysis Center (MIAC) document . . .
"MIAC Strategic Report, 02/20/09, The Modern Militia Movement": http://www.firearmscoalition.org/images/news/miac- ... (www.firearmscoalition.org/images/news/miac-militia-2009.pdf) - anstice85, on 03/23/2009, -6/+24No. They baa, and are cuddly.
- anstice85, on 03/23/2009, -0/+17I mean, I'll support their rights, sure, but not their candidate.
- akula89, on 03/23/2009, -1/+17hear hear.
- homah, on 03/23/2009, -0/+16It's a deal.
- fractalman, on 03/23/2009, -19/+35That's what sheep do, they blindly obey.
- kimbja98, on 03/24/2009, -0/+16AFAIK, flash photography distracts drivers (at least on london's tube) but the not taking of any photos...we all know terrorists would use large obvious digital SLRs to take photos of security holes and possible targets rather than cell phone cameras or disposables. By denying terrorists the chance to take photos, everyone is much safer. I mean it's not like they'd just walk in with a bomb anyway and try to cause some damage and mayhem..no...they'd carefully and meticulously photograph everything, and then get a structural engineer to identify weak points for maximum effect!
Of course, if it were me, I'd encourage people to take photos. Everyone should take as many photos and videos as they wish. That way, if something bad happens, there's a mountain of evidence right there! The govt has a habit of losing the CCTV tapes (like 9/11 or Oklahoma bombings). - iticu, on 03/23/2009, -13/+28Like, you can't own the earth, man, because the earth belongs to everyone. You're living the slave, dude. Like, woah.
- vitriolix, on 03/23/2009, -12/+27Wow, that surely is a impressive speed record for jumping straight to Godwin's law. Congrats!
- mastersmite, on 03/24/2009, -1/+16rights are a means to protect freedoms, hence the 'Bill of Rights' which guarantee our freedoms. you have the right to bear arms as long as you are an american citizen and not a felon, that doesn't mean you can afford a brand new Les Baer 1911 or a Barrett 50 cal.
- AdamMPkins, on 03/23/2009, -2/+16I've got some literature you should really read.
- C0ntraRadical, on 03/23/2009, -3/+17What I do in my shack in the middle of the woods with fertilizer and blasting caps is none of the government's business.
Don't tread on me! - inactive, on 03/23/2009, -5/+19Perhaps we need to issue the state police a corrective response implicating America-hating political cell-groups in the distribution of malicious anti-Constitutional propaganda.
