- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -30/+73In another poll, the world is negative towards the Arab suicide bombings of innocent people and the Arab laundering money to terrorists.
- psykomf, on 10/12/2007, -28/+68what a shocker. i would have thought they would love us for bombing their fellow muslims
- brstilson, on 10/12/2007, -11/+39Here, here! If anyone is going to be bombing their fellow muslims, it better be them!
- hambend, on 10/12/2007, -3/+30I hope they didn't spend too much money on that survey. I could have told them that for free.
- dracostimpy, on 10/12/2007, -14/+41I would venture to say that American attitudes toward American people likewise grew more negative last year.
I for one am fairly disgusted with my fellow Americans lately, considering American Idol gets more votes than the presidential election and the typical American knows far more about ***** McPhee than they do about Hillary's position on Iraq. But hey, at least we created gridlock in DC... it's a good start. - elnerdo, on 10/12/2007, -3/+26Hey, hey, hey. NOBODY knows Hillary's position on Iraq!
- aliengoods, on 10/12/2007, -15/+33Yay! Let's all hate Americans and get dugg up for it.
Evil Americans! Capitalist pigs who let their women vote and.....talk. - turbochop, on 10/12/2007, -4/+21In other news, American attitudes towards Arabs are following the same trend.
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23More negative? Is that even possible?
- dagonweb, on 10/12/2007, -19/+33Well who cares what some bunch of stone age ragheads think of the US? If these ay-rabs dont like how the US manages its empire, bring it on. None of them have nukes as far as I recall.
Oh *****, now I remember, they have oil. And they might switch to Euro. Oh *****, oh ***** oh *****.
http://www.whatreallyhappened.com/ARTICLE2/doodoo.html - thcobbs, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Hate to burst your bubble, but the new congress won't get ***** done for the next two years.
- VinceNoir, on 10/12/2007, -16/+29OK You *****... Let's flip this around a bit so you can gain a clearer understanding of the reality of the picture here. Let's just say that the EU was more powerful than the US (getting there already), had a very small minority following of Christianity and they decided to wage a "war on terror" against the Christian terrorists of the US. We were helpless because we'd been under dictatorial rule by a corrupt government (getting there too) and they put up a strong face of defiance against the EU. So, in order to gain public support to wage this ridiculous war on terror they start bombarding their citizens with videos of southern snake handlers, Christian Identity white supremacists and insane militia cells (think Tim McVeigh) as being the majority face of Christians the world over. Don't you think that this would justifiably make Christians around the world VERY upset? After all, being a Christian doesn't mean you're a white supremacist, a gun nut militia member or a loopy snake handler, right?
That's what your American government and media wants you to believe you ***** *****. They show you the most extreme Muslims in short video clips, give you partial stories and then let you fill in the gaps so that you idiots believe that all Muslims are suicide bombers. NEWS FLASH YOU IDIOTS: Most Muslims are not suicide bombers. I think the more that people use "suicide bombers" and Muslims interchangeably, the more I'm going to start using "terrorist militia men" and Christians interchangeably. I suggest that other Americans like me with common sense and decency do the same to make a point. The rest of our idiot neighbors need to learn this lesson and sometimes the lesson needs to come harshly. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -10/+21"what a shocker. i would have thought they would love us for bombing their fellow muslims"
Hey, just a reminder, not all Arabs are Muslims. Some are Christian and other religions too. Americans disliking Arabs seems to show how Americans automatically assume they are Muslims to begin with, which is like saying all white people are automatically Christians, when that's not true. "Whites" can be Jewish, Satanists, Atheist, etc.
I'll make you guys a bet that if the word got out that Arabs aren't always Muslim, and can sometimes be Christian, this poll wouldn't be so negative. - joe122370, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Hillary's position on iraq is whatever she think's you want it to be to get your vote. She coluld care less either way. Sort of like her being against WalMart now since the libs don't like it, but oh yeah wait, she was a major board member of WalMart for 8 yrs.
- AudioPhil3, on 10/12/2007, -36/+45Quite right!
And I thought, they for one, would welcome their new Democratic Christian Militaristic Capitalistic Obese overloads. - VolatileWhimsy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9I'm the first to bang on someone for poking at America, but he is bringing up facts..
American Idol getting more votes really and truly embarrasing.. :(
and in my defense I have no idea who ***** McPhee is.. - weddle, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10And I imagine that the Germans and Japanese had a negative attitude towards the US in WW1 and WW2....
- repins, on 10/12/2007, -30/+39Hate us for bombing their fellow Muslims? Open your eyes the people killing Muslims today are their fellow Muslims, not the US of A.
- jimbalaya, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8What a coincidence - US attitudes towards Arabs...also more negative.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8And my opinion of them is very negative as well. What are THEY going to do to change how Americans see them?
- gmerin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7they already want us dead: how much more negative can their attitudes get?
this article should be listed in the wikipedia, under "lame, examples of" - aliengoods, on 10/12/2007, -22/+29Its only fair. Every suicide bombing my opinion of them gets lower too.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Yeah Craig. He makes speeches directly to the American people instead of the government.
...and he tells us that the holocaust never happened and that the Jews must be destroyed. What a nice, understanding, communicative man. So much better than Bush, right?
Maybe you should stop posting and work on your education. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Well, Colored Woman, you started it. You can get all weepy because everyone doesn't hold to your politics, but that's pretty pathetic.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6... and don't forget the wording of the questions. Were the questions written to steer the poll numbers?
- livejamie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6in other news: sky found to be "blue"
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8The US attitudes toward Arabs is growingly more negative at an equivalent pace. Where's the call for the Arabs to change THEIR policies towards the US?
- Easty, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Well, I would never have seen this coming.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Stupid Truther. Oh, and to be on topic, I couldn't give two ***** what a bunch of towelheaded 7th Century barbarians think about my country.
- CraigB12, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Thats not true, now that Vincente Fox is gone they have a pretty low opinion of us for not supporting immegration. Its not our fault their country sucks.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6@dracostimpy: I hate the American Idol votes vs Presidency votes comparison fallacy.
Ameican Idol: 10 million viewers voting as fast as they can hit REDIAL on their phone.
Polls: 122 million people who are registered to vote and care enough to get up and go outside and drive or walk to their polling place.
Yes more people should vote, but hey, it's a free country, no one is holding a gun to their head TO go vote. - sworoc, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Actually, the UN had resolutions passed that allowed invasion of Iraq if they did not comply, which they did not. The US was among the few nations that actually followed through with the resolutions, so they were entirely legal. Not to mention that Saddam is documented as testing chemical weapons on his own citizens and prisoners, as well as groups of people in the northern fields of his country. On the other hand, the US has been handing out aid to those in need, as well as trying to kill as few as possible.
You sir, have a very slanted view and refuse to see that there is justification for what is going on. It is not easy, and some are paying the price, but freedom isn't always convenient.
dumbass - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5He also really like David Duke as an American.
I question his attitude towards the American people vs. the American government. - VolatileWhimsy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Hmm, no the problem wont go away. Oil is not what is putting the fire under their seats...
It's their need to survive and the only way they know how (terrorists) is to fight and be asses.. They like to play king of the mountain and they don't care who they push down the hill even if it's their fellow Muslims. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@elmerf6900: It's sarcasm you moron.
There was a post yesterday about 20 "muslim" inventions. Most of which were either pre-Islam, or invented by the Chinese, Indians, or European.
I added in Space Travel as an item that so that no intelligent person would believe I was serious. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+10it must be because all the great publicity we get in their unbiased arab media and from their peaceful and tolerant religious clerics...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6And you'd rather have a dictator?
- DCMacHead, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Why as a matter of fact, I've been mighty impressed by Middle Eastern ways. You've really gotta give them a pat on the back with regard to women's rights--they are very progressive. They are also very tolerant of others' beliefs, too. They are also very exemplary with regard to getting along well amongst themselves. Middle Eastern society is one the West should emulate.
/sarcasm - VolatileWhimsy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yes I agree, let's tell the rest of the world..
- freff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@dracostimpy
I guess I should be proud of myself that I had no idea who you meant by "***** McPhee", and had to Google it. She's pretty hot.
Sometimes, knowing is half the battle. I guess the other half is apathy. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6@ Woman
Why don't you bust out the race card...I bet it wouldnt be your first time. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5We're too transparent. The world, through our media, sees ALL of our faults and ALL of our strengths. Then their "local" media picks up on the faults more so then the strengths and keep portraying that image to sway public opinion.
At the same time, some of our strengths are considered faults... Such as such a strong economy where ANYONE can become a millionaire if they just work at it, no matter their race, religion, or economic starting point. Those who hate capitalism with a blind passion see that as a fault. - right75, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Who cares. Why do we have to live our lives to please these people?! Who are they?!
I don't particularly care for them either, but is there going to be some huge movement afoot for them to change their ways to get US to like THEM?! I don't think so. Who made them so important that we have to kneel to them and beg for their approval. They have earned their reputation by being a bunch of filthy radicals who care nothing but shedding blood. We, on the other hand, have liberated countries from Nazism, Communism, slavery, oppression from other Muslims, famine, and so on.
What have these Arabs done? All they have done is talk incessantly about "death to America!".
Hence the reason I say, who cares what these savages think about us. Am I painting all Arabs with a broad brush? Yes. But they have earned their name and their reputation. - sworoc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4The percentage of people who claim Islam as their religion in the Middle East is comparable to the percentage of people who claim Christianity in the United States, so maybe they shouldn't make "USA" synonymous with "Christian" and vice versa. By the way, both are around 75 to 80 %
- mattbert, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7The feeling is mutual, and well-deserved. They justifiably hate us for the war in Iraq and unquestioning support of Israeli apartheid; we justifiably hate them for their abominable treatment of women and their use of violence as a first resort against anyone who offends their fanatical religious beliefs.
- baileyntx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5emptycan:
The terrorists who flew into the towers were 'educated' and so is Osama bin Laden. In fact, most of the terrorists that get charged in this country and without are very educated. They don't feel the way they do because they are disenfranchised.
Iran's Amandinijad was speaking to 'us' because he is trying to divide us. He is feeding many people's hatred of Bush. Don't be fooled....He would slit your throat just as happily as he would Bush's.
Our current policies have nothing to do with it. They attacked us under Jimmy Carter, Ronald Regan, George Bush Sr, Bill Clinton as well as George Bush Jr.
This is a religious movement...one that seeks to dominate the world....and they gotta knock off the King of the Hill. They will use any excuse they can think of to stir up the masses at the mosques on Fridays.
This article is nothing more than them trying to shift the blame. They are trying to tell us it's our fault. Technically speaking...it's a load of crap. - jfreeman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I don't understand how you make the connection between hate towards our culture and foreign policy - they're independent. Our policy may change with a new president, but our culture will remain the same.
- freff, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4@WomunOfColour
When you bring a topic like this to digg, you've got to know who your audience is. "Arab attitudes toward U.S. grow more negative" is a real headline that is topical and relevant to those of us that live in this country. But you know that the people that are going to be attracted to a headline like this are the 'anti-Sharia' crowd who are more than happy to turn this into another "we-hate-them-because-they-hate-us" thread. Not everyone here and I know it wasn't the purpose of your post at all, but there's more than enough anti-Muslim sentiment in this thread to satisfy any Hannity watching clone. It's just the way things are right now, and there's not much use complaining about it. - CosmoP, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It works in reverse too
"U.S. attitudes toward Arabs grow more negative"
Watch the "Open Season" - Stuck Mojo video on YouTube. Finally a band that gets it right
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymLJz3N8ayI&eurl= - freff, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6I don't own a mac, I hate coffee, and I love my country. I just can't stand ignorant fools who swallow whatever propaganda is poured down their throats.
