- dkmich, on 09/21/2008, -0/+24Finally, someone is pissed instead of cowed.
- belswood, on 09/21/2008, -0/+21Socialize the losses, privatize the profits, screw the masses!
- Tamyrlin, on 09/21/2008, -0/+14More like this, please....
- flotron9, on 09/21/2008, -0/+14Congress has been demonstrating it's ineptitude to manage the country for years. This ire only underscores their impotence.
It's time to empty Washington and start over.
(R-Revolutionary) - danceyoumonster, on 09/21/2008, -0/+13Fear is being used to ram this bailout of lenders down taxpayers' throats, and speed in that pitch is of the essence to prevent us from considering alternatives. At long last in this Administration, can we take a closer look before we find ourselves in another mess from which we cannot extract ourselves, while the people doing this to us are chortling over their martinis?
- existenz1, on 09/21/2008, -0/+12We all need to call Congress and say "No Blank Checks". This bailout is a scam to steal $700 billion from taxpayers and give it to Wall Street.
- DemRising, on 09/21/2008, -1/+11PLEASE take a few minutes and write your Congresscritters, then come on back to your blog stomping ground and express more outrage. A few LTTE's would be helpful as well.
Congress is hoping to come up with a "plan" prior to market opening tomorrow, so time is of the essence. - netgui68, on 09/21/2008, -0/+10We need more congress members with enough integrity to get angry. These same players on Wall Street are directly responsible for the decline of the middle class along with Bush and his henchmen. We all need to watch congress and see how they act on this. I do not care whether Democrat or Republican...if they enable this wall street bailout on our backs...we should vote their ass out of office forever...it is time for some serious changes in Washington...We need to force them to rollback every bit of Bush's mess from FISA, bankruptcy bill, executive power grabs...everything must be gone through with a fine tooth comb. We also need regulation put back in the public companies, force these greedy execs to have some ethics and furthermore I think we should tie CEO salary to the average employee salary, say no greater than 40 times...if they do not work to make their employees future brighter then theirs will not be brighter.
Finally we should insist that Governmet develop a 20 year plan to completely pay off the national debt and make it illegal to ever again borrow more than 10 times their taxable revenue...we need some real sanity back in Government...for all intents and purposes they have bankrupted our nation. I think Americans have had enough and we are ready to insist on real action rather than empty promises. - borez, on 09/21/2008, -0/+10Fascist Kleptocratic dictatorship... you all must be real proud:
http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Larisa_Alexandro ... - jsundman, on 09/21/2008, -1/+10Time for Obama to show what he's made of.
- Andrej73, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5Obama: Bailout is 'price tag, not a plan'
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0908/13704.ht ... - Lazerz, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5Especially since if there had been no war in Iraq, we could pay this bailout almost 2 times! This entire plotline stinks of fascism.
- JavanSClark, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5Although I am hopeful this is an actual letter, I am skeptical, the colorful language is not something one would expect to see, especially in an age where coded derogatory language can cost a career. I'm skeptical but hopeful.
- joe8pack, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5If the government can take the assets of some poor sob who gets caught with cannabis, they should be able to take the assets of these CEO's and upper management who mismanaged their shareholders companies into bankruptcy.
Take their yachts, jets, bank accounts, houses. Let them feel a bit of what its like on the other end of the food chain. You want a billion dollar loan, we want all your assets, permanently. - swrostmore, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5hahaha WHO wrote that?
- swrostmore, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5The bailout hasn't been voted on yet, what the f are you lying for?
- eclectro, on 09/21/2008, -0/+5I've been fuming over this since they mentioned "massive" and "bailout" in the same sentence the past week. Not that the billions of dollars already used isn't obscene already.
- kroses, on 09/21/2008, -0/+4It is now time for the SPINELESS Democratic Congress to quickly prove themselves, or get the HELL out of Congress!!! Grow a SPINE you COWARDS, and tell those RePUKES that they can NO LONGER HAVE ALL OUR MONEY!!!!!!!!!
- algaeturd, on 09/21/2008, -1/+4EVERY member of congress should be skeptical of this bailout. ONCE AGAIN, the Bush regime is using a panic mode to try to gain more absolute power and executive privilege. It's disgusting how this all came about and what they're trying to pull over on the American people to 'save' them. Laughable. Watch how quickly this goes from bad to DISASTROUS in a matter of weeks.
And you think these people are watching out for your best interests. Ha.
NOW, let's see if important stories on digg can still make it on the front page despite the influx of burrito eating dogs and sno-cone licking cat photos. - swrostmore, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3I'm more likely to believe current events are the fulfillment of Alex Jones' prophecy that the New World Order engineered the economic collapse so they could take control of the world financial system or whatever, than I am to believe biblical prophecy is being fulfilled. For the record, both are total crap. The Fear makes people believe crazy *****.
- joe8pack, on 09/22/2008, -0/+3its the profits of an illegal black market that did that. If those drugs were legalized and available to adults in a licensed operation of some sort that prohibited underage purchases, the black market would disappear, and without the so much untaxed income.
No one buys beer on the black market, because they can get for a reasonable price and be sure of purity and labeling for such a reasonably low cost inspite of taxes added at every level of government. - david78209, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3Any banker who shows up to testify before Congress about this in some fancy suit that was priced in four figures or more ought to be held in contempt of Congress. The only appropriate outfit is barefoot, with a hair shirt. The first question should be, "Nice suit you've got on -- what did it cost?"
- borez, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Larisa_Alexandro ...
- spaceman84, on 09/21/2008, -0/+3The next President should issue a pardon to any convicted of marijuana possession and other ***** "crimes". It would easily save tens of billions of dollars and they'll need to cut as much unnecessary spending as they can to dig us out of this one.
- compulsive1, on 09/21/2008, -1/+3Pissed is one thing, effective is another. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will not have anything on the floor that might in any way endanger the interests of the owners of both parties. That means smooth sailing for the bailouts. These stories are only to make you support them for a bit longer, while they are doing their dirty deeds.
Vote third party closest to your personal convictions, because it doesn't matter which one of the two big ones wins what. - catcher6250, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2http://money.cnn.com/2008/09/21/news/economy/bailo ...
- compulsive1, on 09/21/2008, -1/+3Pelosi, as usual, is all tough talk then she hands the president whatever he asks for.
This is just more of the same old posturing and rhetoric. Just watch it next week. The bailout will go through with no significant taxpayer protections and without any harm to the people responsible. - inactive, on 09/22/2008, -0/+2Someone please find out who this is so I can send him/her a campaign contribution.
- diggdatt, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2no video :(
- epublicus, on 09/21/2008, -0/+2Congressional CYA? Ya' think? Ask yourself: Who is in charge of "oversight"?
- epublicus, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1And what, pray tell, should we hold congress in?
- nuveeeeena, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1No golden parachutes for crooks!
- adam42069gc, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1FINALLY! Now the media needs to keep up on calling out McSame on ALL OF HIS LIES!!! America needs to WAKE THE ***** UP! - pentupentropy, on 09/22/2008, -0/+1we should be marching on the white house and the SEC at this point. This bailout coupled with the 799 list is all ***** *****. This is as free market as a ***** russian food stamp office.

- Lazerz, on 09/21/2008, -0/+1Thus why it is anonymous.
- spaceman84, on 09/21/2008, -1/+2You're a retard.
- algaeturd, on 09/22/2008, -2/+2You're a goddamn fool. Greed? Corruption? Boastful (Bring 'em ON!), unloving?
That's a blueprint for the republican party without doubt.
Funny you should suggest that I'm too brainwashed to not see it when I have probably 8 more years of higher education under my belt than you have.
Ironic, no? - ThinkOutTheBox, on 09/21/2008, -2/+1Look no further than Miami to see what the drug trade can do to a city. You should watch a Movie called "The Cocaine Cowboys" a lot of people died unnecessarily and I don't agree with all the killing and everything but the cocaine trade pretty much made Miami what it is today. A lot of those skyscrapers were built with blood money.
- algaeturd, on 09/21/2008, -4/+3I'm not much of a Bible thumper but I do find this passage very interesting and applicable to the current days:
1. They will come in the last days (1)
2. There will be perilous times because of the condition of men
(2-5a)
a. Lovers of themselves, lovers of money
b. Boasters, proud
c. Unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving
d. Slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good
e. Traitors, headstrong, haughty
f. Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God
g. Having a form of godliness but denying its power
Say what you want about the Bible; this is DEAD ON. - BeyondDGrave, on 09/21/2008, -3/+1Chaaaaaangggggge!
That is his policy... "Change"
I'm sure you've heard it over the past months...
Bush invoked the word "nine-eleven" and "terror"...
Now Obama invokes "Change" and "Reform"...
And you all eat it right up... reap what you sow.
You get what you vote for... happy voting! - ThinkOutTheBox, on 09/21/2008, -3/+1If you want to apply biblical prophecy to this matter what you just described fits The democratic party to a "T." But your too brainwashed to not see it.
- zomgflamer, on 09/21/2008, -3/+1Both Obama and McCain came from the same tree they just grew on different branches.
He voted for bail outs. Best thing he could have done is vote against it and allow deflation so consumers have the power to buy not the investors who took the risks...

What is Digg?
