- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -14/+266If this is going to be how these criminals are treated everywhere they go while trying to spread their propaganda, then maybe I can sleep a little better tonight.
- psyjoniz, on 11/20/2007, -11/+255Why is he not in jail? No, seriously.
- espo111, on 11/20/2007, -10/+177move along... nothing to see here...... history will be kind to the Bush administration.....
seriously why isn't he in jail?
(clinton lies about BJ= impeachment; gonzo lies about [insert many crimes here including torture]= $40K speaking tour)
...only in america - toddcat, on 11/20/2007, -8/+154Welcome to the rest of your life Mr. Gonzalez.
- thcobbs, on 11/20/2007, -10/+89Funny, Ahmadinijad gets more respect at US universities.
- perish, on 11/20/2007, -10/+77Dont water-board me bra' ???
- 10001110101, on 11/20/2007, -3/+69Yah, it's nice that he got heckled and all.. But, he still got paid. For 40K, I could put up with the shouting AND rotten eggs/tomatoes.
- Sparky2112, on 11/20/2007, -2/+57Ahmadinijad hasn't done anything to ruin this country and subvert the Constitution (same thing, really). He's an excuse for the Bush administration to rattle their sabers again - nothing more.
- insomniac8400, on 11/20/2007, -5/+54Why are colleges hiring someone who is guaranteed to give a speech that is going to be 90% made up and false? Whether you like the guy or not, it's impossible to deny he is full of *****.
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -7/+55Good. These people need to be harassed every day for the rest of their lives, preferably while they are incarcerated.
- shiftt, on 11/20/2007, -2/+45And why is the University of Florida paying this crook $40,000? They officials who made this decision should be publicly shamed.
- theskyman, on 11/20/2007, -6/+46So the University of Florida paid him $40K. The students should demand a refund. Well scratch off U of F on my kids college list!!!
- BlacklabelSAR, on 11/20/2007, -2/+42Defendent: Alberto Gonzalez
Crimes: High Crimes and Treason against the US Constitution. - relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -4/+41Since when were we expected to tolerate criminals?
- RoroCo, on 11/20/2007, -2/+38I was hoping the rest of his life would involve more water boarding... but I guess public embarrassment will do for now.
- thewump, on 11/20/2007, -1/+36Alberto Gonzalez shouldn't be able to walk down the street without being heckled.
- Alphapsi12, on 11/20/2007, -4/+39What do you expect when you were the person who fired 9 Attornies for refusal of committing crimes by falsely going after democrats with voter freaud. Oh I'm not done yet. Getmo, Cuba, "I don't recall", allow torture (Rendition), Habeus corpus, dissolving the Justice Dept. into God know what, made a joke out of US policies on torture, and simplying lying your behind off.
- JonnyTrombone, on 11/20/2007, -1/+31Too bad no one will be able to recall his speeches.
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -3/+32I'm sorry, I can't show you that proof - Executive privilege you know.
- DaSuHouSe, on 11/20/2007, -5/+33I'd say someone who's ruined the country deserves less respect than some foreigner who hasn't had any effect on the U.S.
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -2/+30Isn't this the same university as the Kerry taze me incident.
hey Gonzales why you subjugate my constitutional rights bro?
All seriousness aside, this guy said before the Senate confirmation hearing that he didn't think Habeas Corpus was a guaranteed liberty provided in the Constitution. yet he still got Senate confirmation for his job.
What does that say about our democracy? - TheSwashbuckler, on 11/20/2007, -1/+28Why did UF bother having Gonzalez speak? He'd just say "I do not recall" about a thousand times...
- CheeseburgerBro, on 11/20/2007, -1/+28Don't worry. I'm sure when Gonzales wakes up tomorrow he won't be able to recall being jeered at.
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -1/+26Good. Republicans spent $70 million in tax dollars investigating Clinton. Why don't we spend $1.00 investigating Gonzo?
- mikelieman, on 11/20/2007, -6/+30That was just his speaker's fee for the university. Generally, he's got a private flight to/from the city ( I don't really see Gonzales flying commercial air and subjecting himself to the TSA, like any other American ), limo/tahoe service for him and his entourage. First Class suites to freshen up in/stay the night. Meals, etc, and a charter air flight back home.
I'd suspect we're looking at at least 250,000 in expenses by the time it's all said and done. - poihead, on 11/20/2007, -1/+24As a Latin American UF grad student I was outraged that this scumbag was invited to speak at the University as an example of an accomplished Hispanic American... Is this an example that UF students should aspire to? A Lying ass-kissing sacs of *****?!
I was then twice outraged when I heard that money from my own tuition was going to pay for the second largest disgrace to UFs image in this year, just couple of months after the well known taser incident... - gemlarin, on 11/20/2007, -1/+21"Charged with interruption of a public event". Are you friggin kidding me. Now I can be arrested and charged with voicing my opposition to a view at a public event? Hello Nazi Germany, my name is America, nice to meet you.
- cranium, on 11/20/2007, -2/+22@thcobbs
Then he's a terrorist. Happy now? - minoss, on 11/20/2007, -3/+23Wow, what a waste of money by the University of Florida. I have the feeling this reception will be similar if he continues to make speeches at universities.
- Matthew720, on 11/20/2007, -2/+22There's a difference between controversial and criminal. Look it up.
- TheLoneHoot, on 11/20/2007, -9/+29I've said it before and I'll say it again... in just a short while all the BushCo supporters will show up to digg all this down. It's a pattern.
- geddon, on 11/20/2007, -0/+19What does this man have to say that is worth more than the average American's salary?
- niczar, on 11/20/2007, -1/+20What about all those US weapons, and those foreign enemy combattants ... of US nationality?
- scott715, on 11/20/2007, -3/+22Let's see, University of FL is a state school, and FL is Jeb Bush country.... figured out the answer yet?
- medalian1, on 11/20/2007, -10/+28This is awesome! I wish it was being shown locally on TV or in the papers. I'm in Sarasota/Bradenton, only 45 minutes from that campus.
- elmetald00d, on 11/20/2007, -2/+20I understand your attack at him. but nothing ever happened to gonzo.
ps. clinton is a phenomenal speaker. - niczar, on 11/20/2007, -1/+18You forgot war crimes & crimes against humanity.
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -1/+18He hasn't been investigated yet. That's what people are asking. For one, his program for hiring and firing federal prosecutors was likely illegal.
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -2/+19You are so misinformed I don't even know where to start.
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -1/+18I'm happy to see this. I hope he gets heckled and harassed at every stop. If I were a student and there was a scheduled speech on my campus, I would organize a protest of the school for having him. Maybe students can get the tour canceled. I say at the next stop, they should throw rotten tomatoes at him.
- dcbebop, on 11/20/2007, -1/+18Can we please stop promoting the behavior displayed from these crooks while in office by showing them that they will have ridiculously high paying jobs when they leave office?
- bahamutxd, on 11/20/2007, -0/+16Who decided he's WORTH 40g?
- floridiot2, on 11/20/2007, -1/+17OJ wasn't convicted either..
- JoeVet, on 11/20/2007, -1/+17What has that got to do with this country?
- inertic, on 11/20/2007, -3/+19The sad part is in a few years, all these college kids will be worried more about their weekly paycheck than their rights. Very few people escape this dreadful future. Corporate america has everyone down on lock.
- Frei, on 11/20/2007, -2/+18He's not a leader, he was appointed to do a job but he can't remember anything that happened.
- DooM, on 11/20/2007, -1/+16You don't have the freedom not to be ridiculed while you speak. :-)
- cranium, on 11/20/2007, -4/+19b-b-b-but Clinton?
Seriously, Clinton may be a dirtbag, but he's no war criminal. - Dumbledorito, on 11/20/2007, -2/+17Respect? The head of the university yelled at Ahmadinejad before he spoke, there were protests, and he was booed or laughed at when he made some of his more outrageous statements (and rightfully so). Gonzo got off light.
- cranium, on 11/20/2007, -1/+15Ok, so he's a terrorist then.
