- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -7/+266The real story here is that the Prius will do 100 MPH. Who knew?
- SoyChemist, on 10/11/2007, -45/+117The video is from Fox News. They will probably cover this story all day to distract people from the Scooter Libby thing.
Gore should say to Bush, "Please pardon my son. I let you ruin the country. It is the least you can do for me."
That would be awesome. - swrostmore, on 10/11/2007, -8/+77You mean like his sentence would be commuted because of political connections?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -14/+82It will be interesting to see if he is treated like us commoners would be treated should this happen to one of us.
Don't bet on it. - CorpT, on 10/11/2007, -12/+78I wonder how much Carbon he emitted while driving that fast.
- writedawg, on 10/11/2007, -14/+72Clearly this situation will show us all just how wrong Al Gore is about climate change and everything else he talks about - what other possible conclusion could we draw?
- catalysis, on 10/11/2007, -16/+70The marijuana is not that bad, but in combination with the other drugs it's a sign of someone desperately trying to escape the world. Hopefully he can overcome his problems.
- hgb5150, on 10/11/2007, -12/+57Hey, if your dad was the prophet of environmental doom you'd be taking meds for anxiety too.
- MrEguy, on 10/11/2007, -19/+59STFU you judgmental prick. His son is a 24 year old man. Old enough to take care of his own problems--and he doesn't need Daddy to tell him what to do.

- metacoola, on 10/11/2007, -11/+37This article shows how big of fanboys people on digg can really be, if the same thing happened to a Bush daughter or some other celebrity you don't like, the most dugg up comment would involve a joke about what happened. Although I know I'll prolly be dugg down for this.
- obliviousfool, on 10/11/2007, -5/+31Dumbass. He can probably afford a chauffeur to take him to go pick up his drugs.
- torched, on 10/11/2007, -19/+43he should get special treatment, imagine if all gore was your father. You would need all those drugs.
- kosmoX, on 10/11/2007, -1/+23The video is from the Associated Press.
- ThinkIcouldburn, on 10/11/2007, -21/+39I'd still vote for Gore.
- Chestnutridge, on 10/11/2007, -6/+23It would appear that many public leaders on both sides of the fence have the same problem. Are you suggesting that G.H. Bush, G. W. Bush, Reagan, Jeb Bush, etc., etc should all have resigned their offices when their children began having problems?
- rejoined, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18""There are no special privileges," said Orange County Sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino."
Letting Paris Hilton go after just 3 days in jail, and a certain recent act by the administration, comes into mind. - Irfit, on 10/11/2007, -11/+28I hate the "OMG HE IS AL GORE'S SON" thing..seriously i could not care less about who is the father of that guy as long he gets the punishment he deserves. I hate when its a new just because he is of the family of someone famous.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+19what?
- cbfreder, on 10/11/2007, -0/+15To be honest, you don't really need to have political connections to not spend a night in jail after that--all you need to be is wealthy enough to afford a lawyer. I know several people who've done similar things.
Alright, maybe you'd spend one night in jail, but that's because daddy is pissed and doesn't want to come bail you out. - johndi, on 10/11/2007, -7/+22The music warning labels didn't work. It's time to ban the evil music that drove him to drugs.
/sarcasm - BackwardsPanda, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13Some cop is having a good 4th.
- EarlOfLade, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13He drove a Prius...
- harksaw, on 10/11/2007, -3/+15Do you really think Al Gore has any pull in the government any more?
"Hey, I got this ticket, and Al Gore is my Dad...."
"HAHAHAHHA nice try, son." - proliance, on 10/11/2007, -2/+14He's 24 and this is his third arrest for endangering people's lives. I say its time he grew up.
- domataos, on 10/11/2007, -22/+34He's a kid, kids do stupid things. Everyone I know has tried drugs and been picked up for speeding. Anyone who cares about this is a sheep, led by your political views and not by your human decency.
- FZero68, on 10/11/2007, -9/+20Talk about an inconvenient truth...
- moofer, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Story dugg down for being BS. There were no 100 mph tail winds yesterday in Southern California.
- xerigen, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13I don't see what this actually has to do with Al Gore the former VP anymore. His son is 24 years old.
- wildfire, on 10/11/2007, -9/+20I blame global warming!
- thatsmyaibo, on 10/11/2007, -1/+12And the batteries used to make those are worse for the environment than emissions.
- solis365, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11DUI: potentially very harmful
Murder: very harmful
rape: very harmful
posessing a little marijuana for personal use: not harmful at all
lets let those people free instead of murderers and rapists and DUIs if we want to solve the overcrowding problem.
if it hurts other people, then you should be punished. if it only hurts yourself, why should the government care? - proliance, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Speeding while doing drugs on a public road is the public's business. It's our lives he's threatening.
Besides, this is at least his third arresst. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12So would I, the actions of his adult son in no way reflect his ability to be in the White House. I am a recovering drug addict, and in no way do I blame my problems on my parents.
- OdinsEye, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9I can never understand why people with illegal substances in their cars do stupid ***** like drive 100 mph. You think if they had drugs in the car they would be driving like little old ladies to avoid attention from the po-po.
- Ajajadude, on 10/11/2007, -5/+13I coulda told you that. I had one up to 120 MPH in no time a few years back...of course, the fuel efficiency took a serious nose dive...
- Digitalfilm43, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9+1 for the subtle Prius crack.
- evilelf2407, on 10/11/2007, -4/+12clearly he was going 100mph to increase his gas mileage to minimize the pollutants
- member57, on 10/11/2007, -3/+10Wow, I was wondering how long it would take before Bush was brought up in a story that has absolutely nothing to do with Bush or his family....
- TripNick3, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8He was under the same notion that I am The so long as the Weed is kept in a "lockbox", then it is deemed not able to be used.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+74th arrest.
- tech42er, on 10/11/2007, -6/+13He was speeding and he possessed less than an ounce of pot. He's not throwing his life away.
- Sarawanan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8It would have been real 'news' if he were driving a Hummer.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8Imagine what would happen if you were not only caught for a DWI but also with a car full of drugs? You think you'd be out of jail within 3 years? I don't. Our jails are packed with those who had a gram of this or an ounce of that. However, they don't have the privilege of being the son of one of our so called 'elites'. He should do the same time as any of us were we caught with his stash.
No ***** way that's going to happen. ***** Bush, Scooter and all of that crap. As egregious as that commutation was, it's an apples to oranges comparison. Let this ***** fry just like you or I would if it were us. Lose the partisan crap and just focus on what happens to 'us' serfs when we commit a 'crime' that has no victim. Gore's son should do the same time as us. Who knows, maybe Bush will commute his sentence too. Birds of a feather flock together.
I am impressed that he got a Prius up to 100 mph, though. He must have feet like Fred Flinstone's. - biggsdarklight, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7RE the Paris Hilton thing. I think she was actually treated "like everyone else" because everyone else also only serves 3 days for the type of offense she was convicted of because of overcrowding in our jails. In fact she served MORE time than everyone else because she was an "example". I don't care what happens to Paris Hilton. What I do care about is people who get convicted of DWI's are only serving a small fraction of their sentences because we have overpopulated jails. This logic also applies to murderers and rapists to lesser degrees. That's the story and unfortunately no one was paying attention to this.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+6You can't have your cake and eat it too.
- thehomeskillet, on 10/11/2007, -15/+21At least he's doing it in the US of A, instead of a couple daughters of a certain current President of the United States who have to go to (and subsequently asked to leave by) Argentina.
- kosmoX, on 10/11/2007, -6/+12But the Bush twins are?
