- catachip, on 04/18/2008, -14/+124Pretty shameful that they managed to spend so much time on useless issues, instead of focusing on issues like free trade and health care - you know, issues that would actually affect the daily lives of voters of Pennsylvania and the US in general.
Sign the petition! - diggeradoo, on 04/18/2008, -16/+95Signed, Dugg, Shared.
- Stonecipher26, on 04/18/2008, -5/+6220% of airtime devoted to commercials. A slap in the face to the American public for whom this was supposed to be a public service. CNN and MSNBC debates weren't even close in the percentage of commercail time in their debates. Sick and disgusting.
- inactive, on 04/18/2008, -6/+60A real American wears his 99 cent flag pin (made in China) with pride!
- lostcanadia, on 04/18/2008, -15/+63Yeah, I was wondering if Gibson had an ear piece connected directly to a mike from Ann Coulter at Fox News HQ. Signed!
- jkbowman, on 04/18/2008, -9/+47Coast To Coast AM would have handled the debate more professionally. - Really.
- laserblazer, on 04/18/2008, -9/+45The media has been soft-balling Bush for eight years.
- JohnnyMarr, on 04/18/2008, -5/+37Epic fail for ABC. If it wasn't for Jeopardy! I probably wouldn't watch the channel at all.
- Ajajadude, on 04/18/2008, -5/+33The Daily Show would do a better job.
- lohphat, on 04/18/2008, -3/+30"We shall send you ANOTHER strongly worded letter!"
--Hans Brix - cavergeek, on 04/18/2008, -2/+23Please god help me! I signed a moveon.org petition.
- foxtrot74, on 04/18/2008, -5/+25What about all the commercials? i half expected them to interrupt Obama to cut to Clinton's "bittergate" ad at some point. Instead we just got 8 commercial breaks about Levitra and some drug for incontinence.
- catachip, on 04/18/2008, -5/+24For those people above, this isn't about it being biased against Obama (although you could make the argument). It is about the lack of discussion of substantive issues. I don't think democrats voting in a democratic primary are interested in hearing about lapel pins or who mispoke about sniper fire or bitterness, or who loves the flag. Those are petty issues Republicans are concerned about.
- elshizzo, on 04/18/2008, -7/+24Send a message to the media. We will not put up with this bull$hit anymore.
- eriksr, on 04/18/2008, -5/+18I signed, I dugg.
- bobdigi, on 04/18/2008, -3/+15Wow you are so uninformed.
- Lythia, on 04/18/2008, -5/+16"Do you believe in the American flag?" That question really knocked me over. "I believe in the American flag as much as you believe in potatoes, judging from your healthy wholesome appearance."
- hellotyler, on 04/18/2008, -5/+15Signed it. I wish there was some way to see the total amount of signatures.
- SIRBERUS, on 04/18/2008, -4/+13Obvious troll is... obvious.
- Michael9636, on 08/04/2008, -6/+15It was obvious Stephanopolous was channeling Hannity. What a farce.
- lostcanadia, on 04/18/2008, -5/+14Come on, we all know the type of pin a candidate wears, or doesn't, speaks a lot about their love of America and qualifications for president!
- WasabiBomb, on 04/18/2008, -2/+10How about the housing crisis, or the economy in general? How about terrorism, or the war, or torture? Hell, any of those would've been more important than the questions they asked- even if you, p0s3r, don't like Obama's answers.
- sensical, on 04/18/2008, -5/+13You're full of Fox News crap.
- fredmv, on 04/18/2008, -5/+12Signed. ABC is on the fast track to becoming the next FOX "News".
- foxtrot74, on 04/18/2008, -6/+13I'm thinking they could have just had Bill O'Reilly's talking points pre-recorded, then just pressed "play" when the debate started. I did enjoy how the moderators repeatedly interrupted Obama with followups, but just let Clinton natter on about her bosnia lie with none.
- braavosi, on 04/18/2008, -3/+10the news should NEVER submit or cater to anything other then the unbiased truth. i am sick to death of this catering, pandering, exploitative news industries. Can't we have at least one bastion of sanity and truth in all of this madness?
- inactive, on 04/18/2008, -1/+8No I don't. Presidents' oath is to serve and protect the Constitution and the principles for which it stands, not the American flag. Unlike Bush who believes it's a stupid piece of paper, I say that the flag is a stupid piece of cloth.
- inactive, on 04/18/2008, -2/+8Oh, shut up. This debate wasn't "fair and unbiased", it was pointless and stupid.
What kind of idiot actually still buys that "liberal media" *****? - catachip, on 04/18/2008, -3/+9What does that even mean? The point of the petition is to STOP the status quo of pointless debates on non-issues, and get down to what really matters. We're in a freaking war, millions with healthcare, people losing homes, and we're supposed to be concerned about lapel fins, misspeaks, and flags?
- joebaloney, on 04/18/2008, -2/+8Like it matters. Gore destroyed Bush in the debates 8 years ago, yet the papers would never say that. They would always just talk about the good and bad things each candidate did, then said stuff like "Al Gore seems to cocky, people don't like that" or "Bush comes off as a guy you could share a beer with"
- jsaxton86, on 04/18/2008, -6/+12Where does it say that they will run ads if they get 100,000 signatures?
- ShempRider, on 04/18/2008, -3/+9Why do they need 100K signatures to run an ad?
Approval? - DrediKnight, on 04/18/2008, -2/+8Stop spamming your site URL
- actionscripture, on 04/18/2008, -3/+9I'm not an Obama supporter, I'm a Ron Paul supporter and will be writing him in in Nov.
OK, now that you've had your giggle and rolled your eyes I'll continue. I signed the petition because we have been through this before. We screamed and yelled back when Ron Paul was being laughed at on stage, or asked ludicrous questions during debates, but all you guys did was laugh right along with them. When we screamed about it, we did so on digg, reddit, blogs, you name it. We were everywhere as I'm sure many of you remember. A lot of you are probably the ones that called us 'spammers', 'crazy kooks', etc, etc...but water under the bridge.
I'm glad this happened because it finally happened to a 'major' candidate, and one who is much more popular than Ron Paul. Maybe now you all understand what we were yelling about last year. Maybe now there will be enough of us to end this nightmare we call the MSM.
Sign the petition, not for Obama, but for all of us. - mrinsanity, on 04/18/2008, -1/+7If I wasn't so tired, I'd read through that and tell you why it's nonsense, but this late at night I'll just say that what I DID read of that post was some of the most poorly written garbage I've seen masquerading as a political blog. I have a hard time taking people seriously when they can't properly form a sentence, let alone choose proper punctuation.
- danielrh9, on 04/18/2008, -5/+11My note on my submission:
Yesterday, I had looked forward to the evening's debate as there had not been one in some time. I had hoped that ABC would include timely and applicable questions such as those relevant to the Virginia Tech Anniversary or related to the visit of the Pope. Instead, I got an hour of drivel focused on catching the candidates in clip worthy sound bytes rather than a set time of a discussion on the issues. This type of rat holing had been done before by other news outlets, but certainly not to the embarrassing and meaningless extent that ABC chose to take it that night.
Additionally, it was a joke that George Stephanopolous was involved at all, given his history with the Clinton family and former Clinton administration. This conflict of interest, as well of the clear steering of any real discussion of relevant issue has proven that ABC has little to no journalistic integration or responsibility. They may choose to do this if they wish, but I can also choose not to give Disney any of my business or to support their sponsors in return. - inactive, on 04/18/2008, -1/+6We are only here for the entertainment value of moveon's whinefest.
And, we're not a democracy. - bobbarkerbilly, on 04/18/2008, -0/+5Partisan amulet of name calling / -3 Intelligence
- AON99, on 04/18/2008, -3/+8I'm going to bet that when you wore a suit, you did wear a lapel. A lapel is part of the suit. It's the pin that's an optional accessory.

- ElvisNixon, on 04/18/2008, -0/+5Here's the problem: You guys sign petitions and treaties, but you never vote.

- More4, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4Hillary has become this season's Zell Miller
- kublerross, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4umm fake email FTW! welcome to the new millenium
- fuzionmuse, on 04/18/2008, -5/+9Done... forward to all your friends...
- Ironman11, on 04/18/2008, -1/+5I would think that liberals know its possible for journalists to be biased. Even as an Obama supporter I know Chris Matthews is biased towards Barack.
- digitalarcanum, on 04/18/2008, -0/+4"Dear ABC: please quit assuming that us regular viewers are so stupid that you would instead of focusing in on pertinent questions of the candidates that MANDATE and DEMAND asking, instead choose to ask stupid questions on political fluff that has no substance, or reason for existing within a debate about the future of our country, that millions of us have a stake in.
The cold, hard truth is, we don't care that Hillary made a mistake about bosnian sniper fire, as funny as it is to make fun it on the colbert report, it has no place in mainstream news. We don't care about Obama's reverend that he may or may not have ties with --politics in this country has a root separation of church and state. You are a primary media outlet for the United States of America, and you're filling the air waves with insubstantial fluff as opposed to pertinent information that we want to know about, such as where our country is headed next, when we'll be leaving war-torn regions that don't want us, what will be done about the mortgage crisis, and what will be done to bring jobs to the US and KEEP them in the US.
Thank you, I hope this has been enlightening. Please forward this to the other media outlets as I'm sure that they should follow this example as well.
Yours Truly,
Anonymous" - rottencod, on 04/18/2008, -1/+5Yeah but it's all within the ***** political game that's choking the life out of our republic. They 'rape' him on shallow crap, but they never talk about how he's raping the Constitution. They point out inconsistencies here and there, but they never talk about the fact that America is betraying itself by selling our liberty for a little (false) security, or that we are contradicting our own alleged belief in the universal equality of man by engaging in dirty warfare and torture. The media is only here to rake in profits by telling us what they think we want to hear. It isn't about real facts or truth anymore, and that is what people are pissed off about.
