- Kombaiyashii, on 10/10/2007, -11/+88That cop should be promoted...He made sure that Mr Bloomberg was safe and treated his fellow Americans with respect. We need more cops like him.
- ZZeke, on 10/10/2007, -4/+52I was watching the video when our UPS guy came in...he asked what I was watching, and I explained what the video was about. He then said to me " well, we can't have people videotaping in public anymore, because of terrorism". He also added that " y'know, the world is changing, it's not gonna be the same anymore".
I tried to explain to him that if we keep letting the government do away with our inalienable rights as set forth in the constitution and Bill of Rights, the "terrorists" will have won...at least according to the point of view that you subscribe to. He seemed to understand what I was saying, but the bottom line for him is that they can pass as many laws as they want in the name of fighting terrorism, and he feels safer every time new laws are passed. He's a great guy, we've been working with him for years, but he's also a perfect example of the brainwash effect, the complacent American.
We can't fight this kind of tyranny until more people understand what is really at stake here. All the government has to do is keep the spectre of terrorism alive, and the average joe sucks this stuff up like it's frickin' ice cream.
I say we all go down to gracie mansion en masse with our video cameras and set up 24hr video surveillance on the mayor's house until he repeals this illegal law. - Vinadetta, on 10/10/2007, -11/+54Although, I'm not terribly fond of this type of ambush journalism and am not totally in favor of these types of tactics it is fun to watch. I think that since the MSM has totally failed and there are no solid journalists left!!! It's a sad day in America when the only way that these criminals are held accountable are with kids with video cameras!!!I I applaud Luke's work!!!! Something has to be done, and this kids risks a hell of alot confronting these SOB's
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -12/+44Exactly what is worse; ambush journalism or the advancing fascism it can help to expose?
These gutsy kids know in their hearts that this must be done if we are to return to the constitutional republic which used to be this nation............ Where the hell is the rest of the populace?
Spread the word. This really does need major Diggs. - ceris, on 10/10/2007, -7/+37LEAVE THE MAN ALONE. He's tired.
It takes a lot of energy running one of the worlds largest cities into the ground. - Raian, on 10/10/2007, -9/+36For some reason I have a feeling bloomberg wont be riding the subway anymore... at least not until his handlers can stack the car with pre-approved citizens.
- tortasmash, on 10/10/2007, -18/+43Wearechange.org rules. Thank you guys. I got teary eyed as well. I have hate in my heart for the New World Order. What kind of day will it be when you can't take pictures in New York? DIGG THIS ONE UP SO EVERYONE CAN SEE HOW COWARDLY BLOOMBERG IS!
- DirtyBrowncoat, on 10/10/2007, -8/+30“First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”
Amazing how the cop goes from grabbing and pushing one of the crew to shaking hands with all of them. What an amazing moment.
Great job, Luke! When I get a chance, I am definitely throwing a donation or two to them. - kongrong, on 10/10/2007, -29/+50Stalking the mayor, yelling loaded questions and unfounded accusations is not journalism or news.
- sano1997, on 10/10/2007, -1/+19The discussion with the cop at the end was awesome. That officer should be promoted for being a human being and actually taking the time to listen.
- theshizzler, on 10/10/2007, -4/+20"We need to have them literally scared to leave their homes."
That's called terrorism. Don't be ignorant. - mighty_mouth, on 10/10/2007, -9/+24My mom has a solar panel, likes purfied water, and even grows tomatoes in her garden!
Mom, how could you have sold out to the dark side!! *weeps*
Seriously, folks. That's not evidence for anything other than a preference for low-cost energy, clean water, and good food. I guess some people just see conspiracies everywhere. - ZZeke, on 10/10/2007, -5/+20Are you kidding me? What, you think Bloomberg and other elected officials should be sheilded from the public? You think that these people are somehow better than us and shouldn't have to face us when they stick it up our a**? It's people like you that will allow our constitution to wither and die right in front of our eyes, and when it's all said and done you'll all say "those damn liberals ruined my country". News flash - it IS the govt.'s responsibility to provide medical care for first responders and others who were told that the air was safe to breath. They are doing something serious about it - they're raising public awareness about the huge mistakes the govt. made after 911 concerning air quality safety! It sounds to me like you're the kind of guy who doesn't need health insurance to help pay for medical costs. That's just swell, but there's a whole country full of people who are not as well -off as you seem to be. We're sorry that the peasants can't care for themselves, sire - please forgive our insolence.
- batshitcrazy, on 10/10/2007, -3/+17“If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.”
-Joseph Goebbels - dharmazazen, on 10/10/2007, -5/+18amazing video..this is REAL journalism by real journalists. it take a lot of courage to confront the mayor and police like that... and he doesn't do so in a violent or inappropriate manner. he seems to be very frustrated and all he wants is the truth. THE FIRST AMENDMENT IN ACTION.
- p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -2/+15If they don't ambush them, how else are they going to get their questions answered? The mainstream won't answer, these guys won't do interviews, I mean For ***** sake, a law is being passed that bans the use of cameras, that is THE FIRST AMENDMENT! I mean isn't anyone worried? We should applaud these guys for fighting for our right to freedom of speech.
And Luke is journalist caliber material, I hope he goes somewhere one day, reporting the hard facts that these soft reporters don't. - Dj0siris, on 10/10/2007, -7/+18The more people that stand up and confront evil and expose it for what it is then more people will awaken from their abcnbccbscnnfox slumber and do the same.
- mmonte827, on 10/10/2007, -5/+15WE ARE CHANGE KICKS ASS!!!!!!!!!
Thank You So Much - Frnnkdlxx, on 10/10/2007, -6/+16Yes, the end was the special icing on the cake. It never is easy accosting someone, but the founding fathers knew that freedom wasnt free, someone had to make the concsious decision to go all out to expose criminality whenever they crossed its path. Unfortunately, most of us are broken, poor and incapable of traveling the 3,000 miles from l.a. to n.y. to confront the epicenter of evil. Thank you income tax, thank you comprehensive annual financial report, thank you social security, thank you outsourcing, thank you loss of manufacturing base, thank you America!
- airwalkery2k, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13Yeah. It was pure luck the cop that stood back to sort this out wasn't a fascist arrest-all-dissenter type.
- NoTiG, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10To those who say it was "stalking" the mayor or whatever.. it only seems like it was stalking because he wouldn't answer any questions. Politicians are public servants... they should listen and answer questions to concerned citizens.. even if they disagree with them. At least tell them why they disagree. Ignoring them like he did was just plain creepy.. and that security guy was creepy as well.
- mmonte827, on 10/10/2007, -2/+10You know whats more annoying then people demanding answers, scum bags like you that go goosestepping us all to hell. Open your eyes and ask some questions. one more thing that's annoying people who defend killers, liars and treasonists. Get a new flag Richandler
- bloqmon, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11In the video they said "we are filming today before filming is banned tomorrow."
On top of that they are doing what our "media" is supposed to be doing. Asking tough questions. Getting in his face. I cant stand the current notion that politicians have about their constituents. Instead of looking to them for answers, they stare blankly away acting as if they dont exist. How can they represent us accurately if they dont think we are real?
These kids are doing what it takes to make citizens visible again. To them we are invisible, worthless, subordinates who are too stupid for our own good and therefore have no right to comment on policy. - superdoofus, on 10/10/2007, -0/+7@richandler, if you had bothered to watch the entire video you would have learned that the individuals who produced this video clip hold fundraisers for 9/11 first responders that are unable to get subsidized healthcare for treatment due to heavy restrictions and vetos put into place by bloomberg and pataki. the stricken first responders need and deserve all the help they can get, they likely did ten-fold more for their country and fellow citizens in the immediate days after 9/11 than most of us have ever done in our entire lives. see, my ambulance arrived on the site at 4pm that day, triage was empty and we all knew in our guts that everyone had been pulverized. but the guys on the pile still dug and dug, for days they did this. i'm glad to see citizens actually giving a ***** and doing something more than just taking a moment or two of silence once a year. that said, go back to your internetting, sir, and just let those of us (including the producers of this clip) that want to contribute back to society at large do what we have the balls -and drive- to do, ok? we don't appreciate your knee-jerk and half-baked prattling.
- Morphinity, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9They need bodyguards because there ARE people out there that want to take this one step further. Don't be foolish.
- rawtheory, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Amen to that!!
- p0tent1al, on 10/10/2007, -6/+13What is journalism to you? Big media asking the easy questions? Do you value your freedom of speech? These guys ARE FIGHTING FOR IT!! Banning video cameras? Do you even understand what this country was founded on? The constitution? If it was up to the government, they would be screening every single comment you leave on Digg!
By your own illogical reasoning, you shouldn't even have freedom of speech! The level of brainwash is so disgusting, but yet so prevalent here in America, you wonder how most people even know what the Constitution is. - pleiadianagenda, on 10/10/2007, -11/+17Exposing the NWO is the most important obstacle of our time. If we expect society to advance and progress, where every individual human can have unlimited potential, and infinite abundance, then our only choice is to expose the individuals who have hijacked our economy, our liberties, and our way of life.
I feel very sorry for the NWO. They are very much slaves themselves; slaves of their own greed, wretchedness, and apathy towards humanity. Our moral duty is not to hate them, but to hope they themselves wake up to their own darkness and help them overcome their evil and wicked ways. To help them see the light.
Peace nad ustice and abundance will prevail. The NWO doesn't stand a chance against the good will of humanity. - BoyBlunder85, on 10/10/2007, -4/+10This was a great video. I was absolutely awestruck at the end. Great job, WeAreChange!
- ninjaSteak, on 10/10/2007, -9/+15Awesome job guys...!!!
- DBOX522, on 10/10/2007, -2/+8prisonplanet is one of the only places to get the truth, why you would bury this for being a prisonplanet article only shows ignorance
- DarkTranquility, on 10/10/2007, -5/+10To all the idiots at Digg:
I LIVE IN NEW YORK CITY .....I am liberal, I believe there was a 9/11 conspiracy and I hate Giuliani BUT that was video was complete *****... Bloomberg is GREAT mayor. Do you any of you ***** know what he did for this city? We have one of the worst education systems in the country and saved it so much without the aid of the NCLB Act. Test scores are way up and inner city high schools are passing the regents exam. He has totally BANNED trans fat from school systems and RESTAURANTS and revamped healthy lunches in school. Also, Bloomberg announced that by 2012 all of the city's Yellow Cabs will be hybrid cars so he does care about the environment.
Bloomberg is also a great philanthropist. His charitable contributions were such that he was ranked seventh in the United States in philanthropic endeavors.. Finally, his salary is $1 A WEEK, which he decided to do to HELP NYC POST 9/11.
I hated Giuliani...He's the prick this site should be talking...ALSO....I have seen Bloomberg on the subway and he answers many questions on 9/11....These "reporters" were being ridiculous and Bloomberg was very cool about it. Giuliani would have just told a few cops to beat the ***** out of them ...
Digg me down for telling the truth. - doswarrior, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5did anyone else think the red haired agent was a real dick?
- cheesehead, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7He's the mayor, that's his job. This man of the people chose to ride the subway
- Soave, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7Agreed. Putting words into his mouth isn't journalism. You can't just go and say "how come you want to destroy the Constitution?" and expect to get answers, and you can't expect that to be viewed us unbiased journalism.
- Chupatumama, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8Wasnt this the group that got thrown out during the Republican convention by Giuliani's people?
If I remember well, there was over 7,000 Diggs yet the story never appeared in any top 10 list.
The Herpes Hilton story had less votes but was always on the front page Top 10 and finally caught up to it.
No conspiracy story here except the story was obviously kept out of the top 10 that day.
On purpose or not, that whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth about how stories get promoted around here.
Since then Ill comment and read but dont bother Digging a story as much.... - johnnliu, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5@prosemitev
I read about Bloomberg on Times and he strikes me as someone willing to make changes because he's not in it for the money. Honestly, I know more about what he did than what my own mayor did for my own city (who's my mayor anyway...).
Too many politicians never make any big policy changes, because many of these will never come to fruition within their term. So many politicians I know just sits on their ass and spend all their allowance and then leave their post at the end of the term without accomplishing anything.
Tell me, what did the last NYC mayor actually do for the city? - Sukrillux, on 10/10/2007, -3/+8And the founding fathers were not civil during the revolutionary years? Yes, they were at war and war is not always civil. Guess what, we are at war now, and it is not always going to be civil and quiet. These guys never hit anyone. They never threatened anyone's life. They just wanted answers. As a servant of New York, Bloomberg has a responsibility to answer their questions and listen to their concerns. He chose to ignore them completely and to break his oath.
- Sukrillux, on 10/10/2007, -4/+9Okay then, just make sure you thank the people who will stand up in court for you if you get caught taking a picture in New York. They will not laugh at you. They will come to your rescue. Will you be laughing then? My guess is (if you are an emotional person at all) you will be crying.
- Sukrillux, on 10/10/2007, -3/+7"We need to have them literally scared to leave their homes."
What then we need to be scared to leave ours? I don't think so, buddy. We need to have people in office that will support the people not cower in fear of them. Sure, government should be mindful and accountable for the decisions that they make, but never fearful of the people. The people are the government. Don't become a terrorist to defeat terrorists. - mighty_mouth, on 10/10/2007, -8/+12But for the record, I know there really are some people who would like to see a one-world government--and I think a one-world government is a very bad idea. I was just saying that solar power, clean water, and good food don't prove anything.
- trurevmbr07, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6so u wouldnt like to know why the first responders arent being taken care of or why they are putting restrictions on freedom of the press?
- Sukrillux, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Yes, a disturbing trend. The media is supposed to represent the people. More and more, however, they are representing the interviewees. Usually, people only work for other people if they are getting paid to do so. Think about that. I know that wearechange.org takes donations from the people. I wonder where the MSM get theirs from?
- LordSlashstab55, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6I'd rather make my politicians scared of me than the reverse role.
- falcyn, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6In reality, the police DO have to assume someone so passionate (seemingly crazed) could be a physical threat. That's just how it goes. There are a lot of people with similar agendas who would wish harm to Bloomberg. Its unfortunate, but true. And legally, physical safety does come before first-amendment rights, especially for a high-profile elected official. I'm not speaking about the camera ban, just about the police keeping them away from Bloomberg.
- morsosky, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6bloomberg takes the subway?
- EricEricEric, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6badass.
- zombiedepot, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6That's why you should vote for someone who is a leader, and not just a greedy businessman. I see your point, but we obviously don't elect people to run e3 with our tax money. As a public servant, politicians should expect this to some degree.
- LordSlashstab55, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6only a very select few are in the center of the "eye" the rest are working around them, unknowing of who's higher than they are.
This Documentary will shed some light on the shadowy depths
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=449294564876413449&total=45&start=10&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=1 - Protonz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It's good question for almost every politician out there.
