- PeoplesChoice, on 01/23/2008, -3/+21In SC, Clinton is secretly plotting a NH-style win over Obama. How?
• Distract Obama from his message by launching incessant attacks from all angles.
• Give the impression that she has conceded South Carolina, while quietly courting voters the same way they were secretly courting Union members in Nevada, particularly Hispanics, months before their union endorsed Obama.
• Lower expectations !!!
• Her supporters to LIE to pollsters.
• Increase her existing black support with sympathy or guilty vote from blacks who don't want to be seen as voting their race.
• MASSIVE, more than expected turnout of white vote.
• Edwards to help her by campaigning aggressively for the black vote.
• Unleash the beast. Sorry.... the Bill.
• Replicate the attack mailers that were effective against Obama in NH and Nevada.
• 11th hour Negative ad???
Don't believe the polls.
http://talk-about-change.blogspot.com/ - NoDrama, on 01/23/2008, -2/+10"If Hillary loses South Carolina and the defeat serves to demonstrate Obama's ability to attract a bloc vote among black Democrats, the message will go out loud and clear to white voters that this is a racial fight." -Dick Morris, former Clinton advisor, who's obviously got interesting perspectives on the current campaign.
See: http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/How_Clinton_Will ... - shaka776, on 01/24/2008, -2/+8Things I have learned about this election from the Internet:
Don't ever assume a black person will vote Obama.
Don't ever assume a woman will vote Hillary Clinton.
Don't ever assume a Ron Paul support will believe a scientific poll or ANY of the voting results.
Don't ever assume that your vote will really count or matter anyway. - SheilaNoya, on 01/24/2008, -1/+6The Republicans want Hillary to be the Democratic nominee. They'll just have Diebold skew the numbers (again).
- SheilaNoya, on 01/24/2008, -0/+5Dick Morris is no longer a real Democrat. He's now a paid Fox News pundit who does anything he can to make Democrats look bad. He'll say and do anything that will give Fox News another fake story they can shriek about.
- manicallday, on 01/23/2008, -0/+4I'm interested to see if he can shift his message to win in the Southern States. I think that he can. However, I think that if he does win the primary, he needs to find a white-southern male as a running mate. I think that Webb or Clark would be a perfect fit.
- trisquithere, on 01/24/2008, -1/+5this is good news
- sdnalednas, on 01/24/2008, -0/+4By my calculations, that means Hillary will win by 117%. After the standard Diebold rebound effect that is
- ajskhan, on 01/24/2008, -1/+4Hmm... where have we seen a double digit lead by Obama lead to his defeat?
- bethlagarrison, on 01/24/2008, -3/+6Clinton's trying to lose South Carolina to make it about race - if she can succeed in pushing that idea, she'll probably win the nomination. If Obama can squash that idea, he has a good shot at it (especially considering the momentum he'll have coming out of SC).
Kind of sad, actually, that Hillary is playing on race in order to win. - ninerskeet, on 01/24/2008, -2/+5Obama FTW!
- jaybol, on 01/24/2008, -1/+3Don't ever assume that "Vote for Change" will result in actual change if you are depending on a President to save society
- inactive, on 01/24/2008, -3/+5I used to have great faith in scientific polling (still do, for the most part), but ever since Hillary beat Obama in NH despite Obama polling on average double digits above her, my faith has been shaken a little.
I believe the cause may have been Hillary's underhanded tactic and "rallying call" to woman voters, along with the large number of independents and voters who hadn't decided who they were going to vote for until the day of. I don't believe this will be anywhere near as large as a factor in SC, so I believe the polls predictions will come through this time.
Obama really needs this win. While he may have gotten the most delegates in NV, I believe for the most part that the majority of Americans are still convinced it was a hillary victory due to her winning the popular vote. If hillary wins SC, then the whole "inevitable" mindset might just be enough in her favor to allow her to win on Super Tuesday. - aliengoods, on 01/24/2008, -0/+2I didn't mind Hillary before, but since she lost Iowa shes done nothing but play dirty. That's why I don't plan on voting for her on Super Tuesday.
- inactive, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1is this good or bad news?
- synaesthesia, on 01/24/2008, -1/+2I've never seen such a good point made in such an ***** way.
- bethlagarrison, on 01/24/2008, -5/+6Actually, none of this is true. Hillary wants to lose the state. She hasn't even been there for a couple of days now. If Barack wins SC, then it becomes a race issue - something he's been avoiding, and something that would probably win Hillary the nomination.
Basically, Hillary is smarter than you. Which sucks, because she's manipulating racial tension, but she's still smarter than you. All we can really hope for at this point is that Obama finds a way to pound it into the country's head yet again that it's not about race. - lhbaker, on 01/24/2008, -1/+2Obama leads Hillary in SC? Is he pulling a rickshaw?
- aliengoods, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Not Webb, too much baggage, but I can see Clark.
And I wouldn't mind seeing an Obama pair with either Kucinich or Paul. - protogenxl, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1She looks pretty tired to me and If she can't take the campaign schedule of a primary no way in hell she makes it to November.
- aliengoods, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1By the same token doesn't Hillary attracting female voters in NH mean this is a battle of the sexes?
- aliengoods, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1How is it a race issue when Obama won Iowa? Even without, how is it a race issue? The guys who won't vote for Obama because he's black won't vote for Hillary either because she's a woman.
- haeber, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Please, please, let's not have Hillary become the next president. I would loathe the day that the newspapers start calling the White House couple Billary a la Brangelina.
- colonelbuckshot, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Obama was racking up 80% of the black vote in Nevada also. Talk about voting for someone on the basis of race. I guess it's cool when black people do it.
- MutatedNantuko, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Don't ***** jynx it.
- inactive, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1Irrelevant. Not only did I NOT anywhere say Obama is my candidate, but it isn't even relevant to the discussion at hand. Red-herring much?
- rtcrooks, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1that is a strong estimate.
- funkymonkey01, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1She'll just cry again...that'll work
- aliengoods, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1That is the most racist thing I've heard all year, but I have to admit. It was unexpected and made me laugh.
- Oktoeatfish, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1If Obama loses SC (when it looks like Hillary isn't even trying to win) then I think it'll really be a devastating blow. The general population will see a loss. The Hillary band wagen wants Obama to lose SC then sweep up Super Tuesday.
- card51short, on 01/24/2008, -1/+1onetimer, what policies of Obama do you like so much? Explain what he plans to do on the economy...if he believes in evolution...what his plans for the war are and what is his stance on illegal immigration?
Tell us what you like about your boy. - felman87, on 01/24/2008, -1/+12000 Presidential election? /sarcasm
- MurphyWatson, on 01/24/2008, -3/+3He was leading in NH too. I SC doesn't turn out like NH.
- inactive, on 01/24/2008, -9/+4Obama spam as bad as RP spam? Yes.
