it's different than a true socialist or communist state
sweden is a great example of a prosperous social democracy
long life expectancy, low unemployment, low cost of living, low national debt, high growth in economy - superduperguy, on 03/30/2008, -2/+6We all know that mathematically, Clinton can't clinch the nomination. At this point, she's just in the way.
- zephyear, on 03/31/2008, -1/+41 for a social democracy, please.
- ncairns, on 03/31/2008, -0/+2Protracting the race like this and thereby potentially hurting Obama's chances in the general election is dissolving her illusion of credibility. I'm personally hoping it takes her long enough to read the writing on the wall that she'll never be able to secure any public office with any real power ever again.

- inactive, on 03/31/2008, -2/+4Let me guess, you support Dr. "I think we can safely assume that 95 percent of the black males in that city are semi-criminal or entirely criminal"?
- JosephDurnal, on 03/31/2008, -1/+2Huckabee didn't exit the race until it was mathematically impossible for him to win. Clinton still can - superdelegates can change their mind any time they want. If she quits now, she won't have a chance in 8 years, I can see the republican argument now, "Do you want a president who will just give up when times are tough?"
- senator32, on 03/31/2008, -0/+1I don't think either candidate has is going to get the number of electorates needed to clinch the nomination by the convention. I wonder what will happen then...

- Codename46, on 03/31/2008, -5/+1Except we're a Republic, not a direct democracy.
Also, show me any "social democracy" that hasn't infringed upon the civil liberties of its own people. - Codename46, on 03/31/2008, -6/+1No matter who gets nominated and who wins in the end, we all lose.
It all depends on whether you want a Socialist, big-government gun-grabber or a Fascist, big-government war-monger.
