A Republican War Time Measure: coal to liquid fuel

dailykos.com — Rep. Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va) is proposing to introduce the "Clean Coal-Derived Fuels for Energy Security Act" next week that would make mandatory the production of 6 billion gallons of coal-to-liquids fuel by 2022.

  • MeanYogurt, on 05/29/2008, -0/+1What a complete farce. We should be using coal to oil processes to ease the burden of high oil prices right now. To bad the peaceniks and hippies crusaded against nuclear power. Instead of burning coal for power we should be generating nuclear energy and using our massive coal reserves for coal to oil to ease gas prices. But whatever, lets just keep burning coal and sending our dollars to the Saudis for oil.
