- ScienceDoc, on 02/29/2008, -5/+70Somebody please send Rove to jail. Please.
- inactive, on 02/29/2008, -3/+53Send Dan Abrams some love for covering this story on MSNBC
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22610959/
(webform to send msgs to Dan) - ElectroOverlord, on 02/29/2008, -4/+46Hell we even have Concentration Camps...at least according to the definitions given by the most popular dictionaries.
#1 A camp where civilians, enemy aliens, political prisoners, and sometimes prisoners of war are detained and confined, typically under harsh conditions.
#2 a prison camp in which political dissidents, members of minority ethnic groups, etc. are confined - jstohler, on 02/29/2008, -5/+35Here's praying Karma grows some junk and sticks it in Rove's ass hard and deep.
- 1jaxstate1, on 02/29/2008, -4/+34Well of course he won't go before Congress, they're too busy questioning Roger Clemons. SMH.
- jesuswuzanalien, on 02/29/2008, -8/+38Not that it would do any good. Republicans are to perjury as Republicans are to:
A) Lying
B) Having gay sex
C) Being big *****
D) Perjury
E) All of the Above - jeremyduffy, on 02/29/2008, -3/+30And then Bush will pardon him. We need to jail the top level corruption before the small fry.
- pintomp3, on 02/29/2008, -3/+23this is exactly why the administration fired US attorneys; to turn the legal system into their own partisan attack machine.
- MacEnvy, on 02/29/2008, -4/+24***** Karl Rove. He's at least partially responsible for this administration's rape of this country.
- Deodrus, on 02/29/2008, -6/+26Has anyone checked to see if GoogleMaps Streetview caught them two together?
Jokes aside, I hate conservatives who pervert and malign the true teachings of Christ (not that I believe he ever existed, but still!). I've had enough of republicans and their cunniving ways. - DangerCollie, on 02/29/2008, -2/+22The Republicans are losing big on this one and the denials are just feeding the flames. The Alabama Republican party looking particularly bad. A whistle blower with phone records and they fight back with denial? It's not even a good strategy for being deceptive. They should have said she was a low-level operative who was given some minor and largely insignificant work. But a stand up denial in the face of documentation is just stupid.
The Republicans are losing it. They're fractured, disorganized and so far off message they're lost in the weeds. They have crackpots making headlines with hate speech. ROFL! They've turned into a clown posse. - inactive, on 02/29/2008, -4/+23Karl Marx was human.
- TheRedNewt, on 02/29/2008, -1/+16If you look at what they accused him of and compare it with what we all know other politicians do, every one of them should be in jail. Yes, he appointed one of his supporters to a position which he was qualified for. How horrible!
The fact is these charges were tossed out of court the first time and they were only brought up an second time when Siegelman decided to run for governor again. Interesting that. The fact that there is strong evidence that the White House was DIRECTLY involved in using the Department of Justice for political purposes is a HUGE deal.
I'm from Alabama. I'm traditionally conservative. I think this whole thing is crooked. If Siegelman is in jail, our current Republican governor should be too. This is not a Liberal vs. Conservative issue. This is about the core of how our judicial system is operated. To suggest otherwise is despicable. - swrostmore, on 02/29/2008, -3/+17Marx can't rap.
- inactive, on 02/29/2008, -5/+19Rethuglicans are anti-American. Period.
- chase001, on 02/29/2008, -3/+15And Halliburton is building new ones.
- MANonFYER, on 02/29/2008, -2/+13NO, Duke Cunningham is a criminal...and Don Siegelman probably is too.....but Karl Rove is the biggest liar and political criminal of ALL (and caught red handed)...Hes a political gangster that creates scandal and crime for a living.. Don Siegelman (although probably guilty) is a victim of Karl Roves political agenda, and an unjust court system ...Karl Rove is the pot calling the kettle black!!!
- inactive, on 02/29/2008, -2/+13Karl Rove is a piece of FILTH, and anyone who can't see that doesn't belong in the country he's ruining: America. He is a CRIMINAL. He is anti-America.
- Gunsotsu, on 02/29/2008, -4/+15You know the really funny thing? Recently allegations have come out that our current idiot, er, I mean governor, has done the exact same thing and he isn't sitting in a jail cell. Hooray for my home state of Alabama! Marching steadily backwards to it's own drum since 1865!
- Nougat, on 02/29/2008, -1/+11Don't be so quick to jump; I think I see an implied /sarcasm there.
- solecize, on 02/29/2008, -3/+13Alabama has been censoring the broadcasts at a local (city) level. If you live here you have to watch a satellite feed or youtube to get the news
- ElectroOverlord, on 02/29/2008, -2/+11Fixed: Somebody please send Rove to Federal pounding in the ass prison. Please.
- razor150, on 02/29/2008, -1/+10I don't know if Siegelman is guilty or innocent, but looking at what was done to him and it does look like he was railroaded. This shouldn't be about politics, this is about whether or not this man actually received a fair trial and it doesn't look like it.
- Waiting2awake, on 02/29/2008, -2/+10still sleeping.....
and apparently proud of it. - inactive, on 02/29/2008, -1/+9I'm so sick of feeling powerless. All we can do is yell about this on the Internet? What is HAPPENING to this country??? How do people like Rove evade any form of justice???
- dforty3, on 02/29/2008, -3/+10Here's a good site that tracks the FEMA Camps as well Bush's Executive Orders.
http://www.freedomfiles.org/war/fema.htm - chase001, on 02/29/2008, -2/+9Every aspiring little Hitler needs their Joseph Goebbels.
- Railz, on 02/29/2008, -4/+11Actually FEMA has documented concentration camps being built. Takes all of 3 seconds to google for them. They are Empty camps with flags and no personnel there, but they were recently put up so.
- inactive, on 02/29/2008, -2/+8Gang America, World Bully.
- kratsnitram, on 02/29/2008, -1/+7I'm from there and was close to the family of one former governor, who was probably the cleanest of any recent governors of Alabama and even he was a crooked as a pretzel. If you jailed every governor from Alabama who committed criminal acts while in office, then ever one would be in jail.
This was an obvious frame up to anyone familiar with the state from the beginning, just like when Guy Hunt got nailed on the other side of the aisle. - NelsonR, on 02/29/2008, -1/+7If ever there was a true prerequisite for a Special Prosecutor this is the time. Rove and the Bush administration have been despoilers of our Constitution, yet they go free daily with further abuse.
- ksc23, on 02/29/2008, -3/+9I am still wondering what those missing RNC campaign emails would show in relation to this campaign against Siegelman??
- Railz, on 02/29/2008, -4/+10That wasn't a choice hombre.
- MANonFYER, on 02/29/2008, -1/+7Carl Rove is a political Gangster...He'll evade this like all other crimes he's guilty of committing.. Its scandal like this that forces you to realize that democracy and 'Law' have no power in America....The Guys 'ON TOP' do what they want; while all we do is talk about how much IT SUCKS.... :(
- mlvassallo, on 02/29/2008, -0/+6Who? Clemens?
- Daedalus81, on 02/29/2008, -2/+8I've never given Alex Jones a dime.
I've heard about the KBR contracts, but never followed up on them, however, is a school not a school if people are not being taught in it? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, I guess. - Adamlite, on 02/29/2008, -3/+8Why digg knupso down? The corruption and hypocrisy straddle party lines. That being said, we are being dicked pretty royally by the Bush regime and his Republican party.
- heystoopid, on 02/29/2008, -0/+5No Puke sold his corrupt soul to the lowest bidder on the day he signed the nomination form to become the peoples rep in San Diego , for patriotism is the last refuge of a charlatan !
- oboredone, on 02/29/2008, -0/+5Agreed. Can't say I've seen or heard much on this outside of the internets.
- dogshaft, on 02/29/2008, -2/+7Hair.
- odigity, on 03/01/2008, -2/+7It's not that I don't agree that Republicans suck. It's just that both parties suck, and are virtually identical. It's a fake contest. They're both owned by the same group of interests.
The reason I don't like this "republicans suck!" crap is that it contributes to the illusion that the parties are different are somehow better/worse than each other. Stop that. - enri, on 02/29/2008, -1/+5Nothing distracts the public better than a celebrity trial.
- inactive, on 02/29/2008, -1/+5Please people remember to spay and neuter your politicians before this gets out of hand!
- inactive, on 02/29/2008, -3/+7scariest thing about that story (aside from being wrongly incarcerated) is the media 'blackout' in alabama. bushco's buddies don't want a story aired? no problem, the fix is in (said with a finger slid down the side of the nose) i guess the best we can hope for as citizens is to stay off their radar as much as possible. whoops, looks like i'm too late just by making this comment
/off to live in fear of 'them' - MrTito, on 02/29/2008, -1/+5Hi. I'm from Alabama. There's not a media "blackout" here. The story aired here in the Birmingham market, which covers from Tuscaloosa to the west, Anniston to the east, Clanton to the South, and Cullman to the north (look at a map to get an idea of the coverage area). As far as I know it aired in the Montogmery market also. And it's getting a good amount of play on talk radio, Matt Murphy on 1070 AM being the biggest propent (though right-wing defender) but it's also made appearances on the Paul Finebaum show which is a sports radio show.
I'm not coming down on either side of this story because generally I think Siegelman was guilty, conspiracy against him or not. And I was glad to see him and Richard Scrushy (former HelathSouth CEO) busted for corruption. - nomadxx7, on 02/29/2008, -1/+5HAHAHAHAHA. Wow Jdigg06 you made me laugh. Though you're comment needs a /sarcasm at the end of it. For anyone to wholeheartedly believe that Karl Rove is a saint needs to go back to the hole from whence they came and keep drinking their purple kool-aid. Please leave the intelligent discussions to the informed and stop getting your "reliable" news from Fox News.
- gak001, on 02/29/2008, -2/+5Oo, oo! I know this one!
- barandon0D9, on 02/29/2008, -0/+3And even if you didn't do the crime, you can do the time anyways!
- marillion, on 02/29/2008, -1/+4This reminds me of the old joke: Why do politicians spend more on jails than schools? Because they know they're not going back to school.
