I saw his last two videos and couldn't believe it.. but now I'm totally floored. Does anyone know if this was covered on television? Lawsuit? Any followup to this story? - kingvitaman, on 05/13/2009, -24/+145Typical pigs. The dog most likely did a false alert. They train police dogs to false alerts so as to give probable cause to beat up whoever they wish. Thankfully generally a false alert by a police dog doesn't hold up in court and will most likely come back to bite these pigs in the ass. Especially since no contraband was found in this mans car.
- gmoomaw, on 05/13/2009, -11/+123I'm sure these agencies will come out in full support of their thugs. After all, how could they know the dog was wrong? Better safe than sorry right? Never mind that the car was destroyed, he was tazed, and his face was sliced up under a completely false pretense. Their fragile egos were threatened so they had to reassert their authority in the only way they know how, with brutality.
- Canadacdn, on 05/14/2009, -15/+115Has anyone here even bothered to watch any of this guy's other videos? He's a ***** nut.

However, nut or not, what happened was completely unnecessary. I hope those agents get fired. - UKLooney, on 05/13/2009, -10/+106I'm so glad that our fathers and grandfathers fought and died for our freedoms. If not, we would most likely be under fascist rule by now.

- Doubledown, on 05/13/2009, -9/+83Simply amazing that things like this can go on.... what kind of country do we live in today.
- beachsouthpaw, on 05/14/2009, -4/+72Yes, he is crazy. Yes, he is baiting the cops.
But I expect cops to be able to handle a situation with some smartass in which they are in complete control without flipping their ***** and becoming unnecessarily agressive.
And just because this man may be an ***** doesn't mean that he doesn't have balls, and it doesn't mean he does not have a point. Border check points 100 miles into the country, are you ***** kidding me?! My tax dollars shouldn't go towards paying for my own routine harassment travelling through my own country. - PBRbeer, on 05/13/2009, -7/+73They don't even have to train the dogs to false alert, it's up to the handler to interpret what constitutes an alert by the dog. Police have long abused the power given to them in regards to k-9s and probable cause, i can't imagine how many unconstitutional arrests are made at the whim of an alert from a dog aka the dishonesty of the dog handler....
Bottom line, this k-9 officer should be stripped of his duty since his training obviously massively failed, since there were no drugs or found contraband found at all, or more likely the officer falsified the 'alert' by the dog in which case he should be stripped of his duty and face criminal charges.... However both of these will never happen.
If we had anyone that actually cared about citizen's liberties in the Supreme Court probable cause would not be allowed to fall into such gray areas like these. - kemp34, on 05/13/2009, -3/+60Dog's going bonkers proves nothing and should not be considered probable cause.
I love canines, but to use an ANIMAL'S reaction in place of rational human behavior is a recipe for disaster and a tool of potential tyranny, as illustrated in this example. - FFandMMfan, on 05/14/2009, -47/+101ATTENTION EVERYONE
Stop falling for this man's crap.
He spends his spare time going to all these border patrol places and deliberately antagonizing the police, just so he can get attacked and post it on Youtube.
This man is a sick individual, and it doesn't stop with this. Look at some of his sermons on his youtube page, he's racist, sexist and borderline insane, he even calls Obama the Antichrist.
Seriously, watch some of his videos, look at how horrible of a person he is, how he deliberately tries to offend and anger everyone he comes in contact with. This man does not deserve sympathy, he deserves everything he gets.
This is not to say that the cops are right, they're wrong, but this man DELIBERATELY tries to MAKE THEM do ***** to him. - QiJiGuang, on 05/13/2009, -9/+63Covered on television? Of course not. TV is the collectivist's mouthpiece.
That is why the collectivists want to shut down the Internet. Some things are just too risky to be revealed, you know.
But an ancient Chinese saying goes: "You can't hide a fire with a piece of paper". No matter what you do, you can't cover it up. It will leak out, eventually. - computrius, on 05/14/2009, -1/+48Did any one else catch that he was under arrest because he refused to cooperate when they told him he was under arrest? Am I the only one who thinks that doesnt make ANY sense??
- magnus3d, on 05/13/2009, -12/+56What are these amendments and rights he keeps referring to?
Something like that doesn't exist... Does it?
/sarcasm
I applaud this guy for standing up for himself. Pity he got his ass handed to him, what is this world coming to, he wasn't even at the US Mexico border... Power abusive pigs. - RonPauls, on 05/14/2009, -3/+36your rights
use them or lose them - azikrogar, on 05/14/2009, -18/+50I found this video last night and while I think that the behavior was inappropriate on the part of the officers, I got to watching his other border patrol videos. It seems that it's become a game to him. I'm all for standing up for our rights and having someone do so, but when it's become a game and/or for the sole purpose of publicity, then it's gone too far. He also has a video where he proclaims Obama as evil and such, which is against the law for any preacher to discuss candidates and certain political issues/sides during a church service.
I am in no way supporting the actions of the police; I am merely stating that standing up for your rights as an American citizen should never be displayed if the sole purpose is to gain popularity or views on youtube.
P.S. ***** the Police State - RSS14, on 05/14/2009, -2/+34Then, why not let the FBI tap your phone and internet lines? Forget about warrants, who needs those? If you didn't do anything - you have nothing to fear. Right?
No, that's *****, the pastor has rights to privacy and the police disregarded them. ***** those cops. - 007brendan, on 05/14/2009, -1/+32Being a nutcase is perfectly legal. Beating and detaining someone for no reason is not.
- Geheg3D, on 05/14/2009, -4/+34This is pretty similar to the man in New Hampshire who has been in jail for a month for trying to take a camera into a courtroom and observing his right to remain silent.
http://freesamdodson.com/ - Laughingman42, on 05/14/2009, -4/+34This guy is the stupid dick brave enough to challenge officers, while everyone else is letting their rights slip away. I don't advocate "testing" boarder patrol checkpoints like this, but if a person IS "testing" police like this they shouldn't be tasered and beaten for it. Police aren't allowed to arrest you or beat you up just because you are giving them a hard time. If you aren't breaking the law you shouldn't be under their power.
- dupems, on 05/14/2009, -2/+30"Fundie *****" have the same rights as you or I. His beliefs are irrelevant.
- batmanz, on 05/14/2009, -28/+55This guy drives around baiting border patrol officers to violate his rights. He had this coming, for a long time.
I'm not saying what the officers did was right at all, but this guy is kind of a dick. - failtrain, on 05/14/2009, -0/+25Was I imagining it or was the guy holding the taser smiling?
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -2/+27Barry Cooper used to be a top-ranking narcotics interdiction agent and police drug dog trainer, but he turned against the drug war when he realized prohibition was a failure. Here, he offers an insider look at police-canine relationships, and explains how drug dogs find marijuana:
http://www.cannabisculture.com/v2/node/8634 - hanexar, on 05/14/2009, -1/+26He wasn't crossing a border, check the link for the full story.
- kemp34, on 05/13/2009, -0/+23My dog's tail twitched. PROBABLE CAUSE!!
- dupems, on 05/14/2009, -2/+25I don't care how crazy or misinformed this guy is, no one deserves to have that happen to them. The fact that you excuse it because of who he is is despicable. Go ***** yourself.
- mcsenget, on 05/14/2009, -3/+25because you have rights? why not let them search your ***** if you have no drugs there?
ever hear of the right to privacy? ever use your brain? - inactive, on 05/14/2009, -0/+22Unscrupulous police officers use these drug-detecting animals to illegally search your car by using false alerts. When pulled over by the police, the driver does have the right to refuse consent to search their vehicle. Upon hearing a refusal to allow a search, police have the right to bring a K-9 out to conduct a non-invasive air sniff of your auto exterior. But if the trained drug dog alerts on your auto, the police can then search without your permission.
Knowing this, police who maintain suspicion that you have narcotics will often command their dogs to false alert if the K-9 hasn’t indicated the presence of drugs during the legitimate outside air search of your car. A false alert is done simply by whispering the ball-fetch command, “Get it, get it – get it out of there,” which triggers the dog to begin scratching. Now that the dishonest handler has a visible K-9 alert for all to see he announces, “My trained drug detector dog has alerted to the odor of a narcotic, so we will now search your car without your permission.”
If the cops find drugs during the search the police claim the K-9 is accurate, but if no drugs are found the police claim the dog “must have alerted to residual drug odors”. Either way, the unsuspecting motorist loses.
http://www.cannabisculture.com/v2/node/8634 - iskin, on 05/14/2009, -3/+24I've watched the guys videos and I KNOW he is a nutcase. Yes, he does antagonize the cops and he is trying to get a reaction. I don't think it matters. This guy is finally on to something! This 100 mile "Constitution Free Zone" is a real issue, it should be reviewed, and if it takes some nutcase preacher to get it done, then so be it.
This video is a little sketchier than his New Mexico border one, IMHO. Even though he didn't get beat up, the New Mexico video showed how Border Agents try to abuse the border check points. Unfortunately, the guards at that point finally realized that a Catch-22 isn't a good enough reason to forcibly remove him from his vehicle.
At this border checkpoint it was different. We hear something about a dog signaling that his card contained contraband, and then hear this guy telling officers that he doesn't believe them and to bring the dog back out. Then his window is smashed, he is tazered(?), we are treated to a less than desirable video of his beating, and finally, some pictures of his wounds. It's hard to say if what had transpired was legit. Obviously, if a dog marks him as a suspect and he refuses to comply, then what the officers did was legit. - Ebacherville, on 05/14/2009, -7/+28its not a game, hes using his rights.. this is no game the police are used to people just giving up there rights..
- DannyLee11, on 05/14/2009, -3/+24It does not matter if your a dumb ***** preacher or not, he has the same rights as everyone else. Look around, police are crooked, they lie, they plant, they are complete authoritarian in their approach. These video surface every single day, we need more people like the pastor, and kopbusters.com to expose their disgusting tactics. Can anyone else remember when we looked up to police officers as protectors of the peace. Now what are they?
- smaisch, on 05/14/2009, -1/+21I can't believe it either. I watched his earlier videos and while I thought he could have cooperated and saved himself the trouble, I applaud his bravery and exercising his rights granted to him as an American citizen. Some would say he's just a martyr, and you're right in a way. While many of you may not agree with his religious or even political views, as American citizens you should be grateful for the way he stands boldly in the face of those with poorly granted authority and fights for the rights of us all.
Assuming the Pastor Anderson, or sanderson1611, is the actual submitter, I would like to say thank you for putting your well-being at risk and sacrificing time from your day to try to make sure no injustice is done at these checkpoints. I can say this as an Arizonan, I appreciate it. - Ebacherville, on 05/14/2009, -0/+20Didn't you hear now the boarder extends 100 miles inland.. this includes almost every major coastal city in the country and they refer to this 100 mile boarder area as "Constitution free zones"
- mapdesigns, on 05/14/2009, -4/+23If we don't continue to fight we will lose them. This is a perfect example.
- Laughingman42, on 05/14/2009, -1/+19He did not cross the border. The boarder patrol checkpoint as 100 miles inside US territory.
- Merrell0, on 05/14/2009, -18/+35DON'T TASE ME BRO!
- inactive, on 05/14/2009, -1/+18Actually, it was on television. On Fox News. Ha!
http://bit.ly/VUVKp - FFandMMfan, on 05/14/2009, -2/+18I'm not your butler, look at his youtube page yourself. I'm sure it won't take long to realize what he does.
- bunnybash, on 05/14/2009, -1/+17Anyone want to try to prove to me that the terrorists did not win the day the PATRIOT ACT was signed off on...
Americans need to have another revolution... - angelschambers, on 05/14/2009, -4/+20Have you ever seen Supersize Me? Where the guy eats McDonalds every day for a month to show how unhealthy it is? This appears to be the same thing. He's trying to bring light to an already over blown problem with police brutality and tazers.
- angelschambers, on 05/14/2009, -4/+20And you think he's doing this for his own good? He's doing it for his neighbors, not himself. People kind of like you. I could care less for his religion but what part of him getting tazered do you think is self serving?
Being a dick isn't a crime. - locojones, on 05/14/2009, -0/+15You couldn't be more wrong.
At checkpoints, an officer can only direct a vehicle to stop and conduct a search if probably cause exists or the driver consents. See United States v. Martinez-Fuerte, 428 US 543 (1976). Moreover, lack of consent, without more, does not give rise to probable cause. See United States v. Fuentes, 105 F.3d 487 (1997).
Finally, at fixed checkpoints, there can be no acts that are random. See United States v. Villamonte-Marquez, 462 US 569 (1983) (mentioning that random stops are not allowed). - rossiohead, on 05/14/2009, -2/+17The point being: it shouldn't be possible to "bait" officers into violating your rights.
It definitely shouldn't be possible to bait them into violating your rights through non-violent adherence to your own country's constitution. - leetninja, on 05/13/2009, -10/+25Typical jackboot thugs.
- phantomex, on 05/14/2009, -3/+18Ladies & Gentlemen... This is why America is going to FAIL.
- iskin, on 05/14/2009, -1/+15A well trained dog is pretty reliable. The problem isn't trusting the animal, it's that you have to trust the owner and it is too easy to defer culpability onto the animal. After all, the Nazis found dogs to be very effective.
I'm sure dogs are monitored for the performance and are subject to review as well, but I could see an officer training an animal to throw false positives so he could investigate his hunches because he is cocksure of his innate ability to spot a criminal. - 007brendan, on 05/14/2009, -0/+14@khast
Checkpoint / Border are not the same thing. At the border, you are not inside the U.S., and thus not subject to Constitutional protections unless you are detained and brought into the U.S. At these checkpoints, you are clearly in the U.S. and so the Constitution applies just as it would at any other time, like a traffic stop, or otherwise. Just because you don't exercise your right to resist an illegal search without a warrant doesn't mean we all have to. - madcat033, on 05/14/2009, -0/+14"why not just let them search the car?"
The Fourth Amendment to the United States Constitution:
"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized." -
