ACLU Contradicts Cheney: DoD Did Conduct Illegal Surveillance Using NSLs
bodypolitik.org — The ACLU is reporting that the DoD improperly collaborated with the FBI and issued “hundreds of national security letters (NSLs) to obtain private and sensitive records of people within the U.S. without court approval." But in January 2007, Dick Cheney described the practice of issuing national security letters as a “perfectly legitimate activity."
