- gelato822, on 08/31/2008, -5/+24forgot the whole rumor about her son (grandson)
can't wait to see how this all unfolds... - Echota, on 01/05/2009, -4/+23And I'm sure the list will keep growing!
- duckley, on 08/31/2008, -8/+25Gov. Palin was in Texas when her "water broke".
Did she go to a local hospital? No. Did she see a doctor? No.
She went and got ON AN AIRPLANE and Flew to Seattle WHILE IN ... LABOR !
NONE of the air crew thought she was in labor, and she told no one nor made any special arrangements.
THEN, she changed planes in Seattle, while STILL in Labor, and FLEW to Alaska to have "her" baby.
Meanwhile, her daughter Bristol had been missing from school for FIVE MONTHS.
I wonder why? - JenniferInMO, on 08/31/2008, -4/+15The frightening thing about this list is that it all being dredged up so quickly. It will be interesting to see which things get verified. It sounds like the ethics investigation will result in something since she has admitted to some phone calls.
As for the baby thing I was so angered and freaked last night after I read some creepy stuff about her uber right wing religious associations http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/29/163234/559 then I read about her is anti-abortion in ALL cases and against birth control: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2008/8/29/185637/985
Then I found this story and started reading all the comments. I have to admit that I was fascinated and excited about the thought that this story if true might upheave her credibility and mess up their campaign. I was so excited at the thought that this might be true and might have flown under the radar of the vetters. Then I got slapped in the face with my own ethics. I ran into such a reasonable comment is ticked me off:
"We pro-choicers argue that an abortion is no one's business but the woman's. But in this case, a teenager who does not hold public office is coming under scrutiny. How do we not know that she asked her parents to shield this information from public scrutiny? We don't. And all this is conjecture, at the expense of an innocent 16 year old.
This whole effort is ugly, ugly, ugly and besides the point. It's the mirror image of Right Wing witch hunts. You guys are hypocrites and should be ashamed of yourselves."
Then he posted another one that totally ruined the party going on in my head because he was right again:
"You can make as much of an intellectual argument about this as you want, voters will simply feel sympathy for the Palin family. We don't need sympathy for them."
The main talking point for the Sarah Palin nomination should be (and the Obama campaign is on this) that it shows poor and wreckless judgment on McCain's part, because he placed this woman who is inexperience and ill-informed on national and international issues one heartbeat away from the presidency.
I think the ethics and corruption investigation is also important and fair game as well as her poor economic decisions while in office and her pettyness and vengeful behavior is a typical of a small town local politician looking for social status and power.
Other than that, it is all about McCain. - JekJob, on 08/31/2008, -3/+12No, it's because her daughter was absent from school for about 5-8 months, "sick" with mono, but mono does not last that long. And Palin announced her pregnancy 7 months in but all the pictures of her around that time show her wearing trim clothing when she should be bulging. The pictures of her daughter at around that time show a little baby bump.
It's all speculation right now, but it's definitely possible. Below, duckley explains even more. - borez, on 08/31/2008, -4/+14You can't escape teh nets of the inters...
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -5/+1350. her son is actually her 16-year old daughter's.
- DiggRational, on 08/31/2008, -4/+11Initially I thought we should ignore Palin, emphasizing how poor a judgment McCain has made by demeaning her credibility......
But this list is oh so much better! Hopefully this gets out to MSM. The only people who would like this pick are right-wing christian fundamentalists. - random12345, on 11/16/2008, -0/+4I could have SWORN a only months ago Republicans were scared ***** of the possibility of Hillary as a president because shes a woman...
- FiestyPumpkin, on 08/31/2008, -4/+6If you bothered to click on any links in the article, her religion believes in sending soon-to-be teen mothers into hiding and then signing over the child in a private adoption. I don't know, but with all the evidence collected so far, it seems pretty suspicious to me.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -2/+5wow, i guess the fact that her stance on issues are completely against what other women like Hillary Clinton support is not important. And you're no. 51 dumbass.
- PAEin, on 09/01/2008, -0/+2McCain's got 99 problems, but a bitch.... is the all 99.
- jbdobd, on 09/01/2008, -0/+3John McCain. Ready to Keel.
- kevxross, on 08/31/2008, -1/+3Why bury him when he's completely correct? This list is mostly ridiculous and makes you look just as bad as the right wing smear machine that you hate so much. There's not a chance in hell I would vote for McCain-Palin, but I don't need a list of mostly fluff to base that on when there are plenty of solid reasons.
- algaeturd, on 09/01/2008, -0/+1This isn't going to move any republicans. They hate babies. They eat babies for breakfast. So while every other human with a heartbeat and any kind of sense of logic would see those facts and wonder what the hell kind of mother this woman is or what in the hell it says about her decision making skills, the repugs don't really have much feelings for babies. They were all waving the flag when innocent civilians and babies were dying in the Iraq attacks. That's who you're dealing with: No logic, no reasoning, no empathy, no common sense, no heart.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the typical republican supporter. - algaeturd, on 09/01/2008, -0/+1Republicans are so cute when they're uneducated. Which is about 90% f them. Hypocrisy is the middle name of these ignorant backwoods hicks.
- jizzlies, on 09/01/2008, -2/+4Seriously, I think he would have been better off picking Urkel than Palin:
http://www.bofads.com/stories/UrkelScreech.htm
At least people know who Urkel is, and we all know he is smart. - SeaMowse, on 08/31/2008, -3/+3@JekJob - not true. Mono can take months to recover from. Fatigue can last for months, even a couple years.
I'm gonna love to see where this baby rumor goes. - jeebodon, on 09/01/2008, -1/+1Taken from Dexter411's comment in the Decision Pregnancy Map (PIC):
From Anchorage Daily News, April 22nd, 2008:
Early Thursday -- she thinks it was around 4 a.m. Texas time -- she consulted with her doctor, family physician Cathy Baldwin-Johnson, who is based in the Valley and has delivered lots of babies, including Piper, Palin's 7-year-old.
Palin said she felt fine but had leaked amniotic fluid and also felt some contractions that seemed different from the false labor she had been having for months.
"I said I am going to stay for the day. I have a speech I was determined to give," Palin said. She gave the luncheon keynote address for the energy conference.
Palin kept in close contact with Baldwin-Johnson. The contractions slowed to one or two an hour, "which is not active labor," the doctor said.
"Things were already settling down when she talked to me," Baldwin-Johnson said. Palin did not ask for a medical OK to fly, the doctor said.
"I don't think it was unreasonable for her to continue to travel back," Baldwin-Johnson said.
So the Palins flew on Alaska Airlines from Dallas to Anchorage, stopping in Seattle and checking with the doctor along the way.
"I am not a glutton for pain and punishment. I would have never wanted to travel had I been fully engaged in labor," Palin said. After four kids, the governor said, she knew what labor felt like, and she wasn't in labor.

- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -4/+3How about this rumor IDigAffirmativeActionCases. Obama is against successful people!!! The lazy "hand me the job" check box man is running for the White House with NO experience in running a business and NO executive experience.
"I'm offended by Barack Obama saying that about my husband," said McCain's wife Cindy.
When asked if Obama went too far in his criticism of McCain, Cindy responded, "I do. I do. I really do."
McCain also said beer the distributorship her father built, which is the source of much her family's wealth, typifies the American Dream.
"My father had nothing. He and my mother sold everything they had to raise $10,000," she said. "I'm proud of what my dad and my mother did and what they built and left me. And I intend to carry their legacy as long as I can."
http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/08/ci ... - jeebodon, on 09/01/2008, -3/+1First of all, many of the "problems" are merely a conservative viewpoint (she feels creationism should be discussed in class ALONG WITH evolution, neither being mutually exclusive, she is against abortion, she is against universal health care, etc...)
Second, many of the "sources" pointed to are other proven left-wing propagandist sites (ThinkProgress, DailyKos). After seeing numerous exaggerated headlines promoting biased agendas (akin to the ever-hated Fox News), I dismiss those sites entirely.
Third, with this explosion of anti-Palin articles, I feel that many Democrats are worried. I feel Palin was a big gamble that very well may swing the election to McCain.
When Biden was selected, rarely a negative article appeared on Digg, yet within a few days of Palin's announcement I have seen tons of articles.
Anyway, I digress, and am prepared to be dugg down into oblivion. Just frustrated at all the Jedreport, DailyKos, Huffingtonpost, ThinkProgress, Mediamatters, Rawstory, etc. stories infecting Digg. - inactive, on 08/31/2008, -6/+3How do you know it's a lie? For everything in the world, we need proof both to prove that something is right or something is wrong. Daily Kos is providing evidence that is more likely that her daughter who actually has a baby bump who left school for 5-8 months with mono, an excuse used by many teen moms and will also make people lose weight instead of gaining weight, than a person who never had a baby bump, ever. we can also compare shots of her other pregnancies to this one, and we can clearly see no baby bump. Now, obviously it's not the truth unless Palin flat-out says that, but you still can't say it's false. We have to make judgments on the facts we have, and the facts show that it's not Sarah Palin's baby. And FYI, if you actually clicked the link for the 23/6 link, you would have noticed that it directs back to the Daily Kos story. If you're going to criticize Digg and Kevin and these websites, at least know what the hell you are talking about.

What do you mean these are problems? Heck, they are practically the republican platform. Just because you do not agree with them does not make them a problem. - MacBigot, on 09/01/2008, -4/+2Gov. Palin's own physician delivered her baby and, in an April interview with the Anchorage Daily News, confirmed that Trig is SARAH's child.
http://digg.com/political_opinion/Gov_Palin_s_Doc_ ... - gelato822, on 08/31/2008, -4/+2um you just used the statement that she would force her daughter to have a rapist's baby in her defense...
- sapphire9488, on 08/31/2008, -5/+3I vehemently disagree with Sarah Palin's views on most issues, but I have respect for what she's accomplished as governor in such a short time. That being said, I think she's a horrible pick. But I think that people should be focused not so much on her, but on McCain's lack of judgment on this choice. Picking a VP is the first huge decision that a candidate has to make, and he's blown it. By not vetting her and only meeting her ONCE before asking her to join the ticket, he's demonstrated horrible judgment and shown himself to be someone who makes important decisions way too fast without going through all of the consequences. If I had any doubt before, I know now that McCain is NOT someone I'd ever like to have as commander in chief. The thought of him being charge of any nukes scares the hell out of me.
- SeaMowse, on 08/31/2008, -9/+4Exactly. How did people come up with that rumor? Was it because her daughter was holding the baby during her acceptance speech? That, paired with the her comment that she would force her daughter to have a rapist's baby?
Give me a break. Sheesh. - inactive, on 08/31/2008, -14/+8"She has 3 houses" Um, so what?
"She didn't support McCain in the primaries." Clinton didn't support Obama either, now she is telling her supporters to vote for him. That's called politics. Again, so what?
" Additionally, this choice reminds us that McCain is an adulterer and raises the spectre that he is just a dirty old man with wandering eyes." If she were ugly it would have been better for his campaign? LOL
This list is a SSSSTTTTRRRREEEETTTTCCCCHHHH with a couple valid concerns thrown in to look legit. - flip2trip, on 08/31/2008, -12/+5You people are pathetic. Not to mention stupid beyond belief. Everything on that list is either an outright lie or just half-truth. Buried for more anti-Palin spam.
- inactive, on 08/31/2008, -18/+7I have a feature request, please make sure Kevin himself sees it.
I'd like to be able to ignore Digg posts that link to certain websites, so that I don't even see them.
Look how many off-the-wall lunatic stories are in the top 10 right now that are inaccurate lies from The Huffington Post and Daily Kos. All buried as inaccurate, but still there they sit for all to see.
I don't want to have to turn off politics for just these crazy sites, but I am tied of this crap.
Digg is great for everything but the part where it's being used by these far left loons as a propaganda tool. Something has to be done!
