- dazinith, on 10/12/2007, -22/+164I support criminal investigations - where'd such a low number come from? Comon people, this is OUR government, make it your bitch instead of the other way around.
- g4blows, on 10/12/2007, -22/+100The American people havn't had any major news organizations tell them that Bush should be impeached yet...sad I know.
- laroja, on 10/12/2007, -7/+83"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without a rebellion!" - Thomas Jefferson
- EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -15/+75More Americans favor impeachment than think Congress is doing a good job. Will Congress get the message?
- AllenS, on 10/12/2007, -38/+82"39% favor impeachment" and the other 61% favor execution...seriously, why is this moron-of-a-president still around?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -14/+41Impeachment will open the can of worms. We'll all learn about the neocon cabal who have hijacked the US Government. We'll learn of their connections to illegal arms dealing, including black market nukes and yellow cake; we'll learn of profits from the Afghan poppy fields and worldwide heroin distribution are filling the wallets of many of these neocons and their associate banks, like BCCI, who launder all the cash. We'll learn of the sex slave trafficking, including children. We'll learn of the network made up of retired Pentagon Officials moving on to work for the ATC and how they distribute and deal in all their illicit businesses. Ultimately we'll learn that the entire dirty network is managed by neocon central: AIPAC
Let FBI Whistle blower Sibel Edmonds testify before the Senate and you'll learn more serious things about these architects of war.

39% support impeachment now, after the hearings open that number will above 90% - cweathers, on 10/12/2007, -8/+31Although I doubt there would ever be enough votes for impeachment or a conviction, no president has ever been more deserving of being tried for high crimes than George W. Bush. And for those naysayers that say the talk of impeachment is just payback for Clinton, they're full of it. I supported the impeachment of Clinton. However, while watching his trial in the Senate, I came to the conclusion that he should not be removed from office. This president has done much more than Clinton, who did lie under oath in regards to a personal matter loosely tied to a civil lawsuit. This president's alleged crimes are much higher and there is a great wealth of evidence against him and he deserves to be tried by the Senate as Clinton was.
And, if you think impeachment is the wrong way of going about things, then you say that in the face of our forefathers who wrote the Constitution. An imperial and morally bankrupt presidency worried them so much that impeachment was mentioned in the Constitution not just once, but six times.
http://liberty-in-crisis.blogspot.com - tizz66, on 10/12/2007, -13/+36Whatever you think about impeachment, when only 621 people are polled, it's not really something to get excited about. There's no info about how the poll was conducted, and even so, I dispute that 621 people is enough to get even a 'good guess' representation of the US as a whole.
- Tourney3p0, on 10/12/2007, -4/+20If done truly randomly, yes you can. If you'd like, I can recommend some elementary statistics books to point you in the right direction.
- scoobydoo84, on 10/12/2007, -25/+4039%?? I suspect the real number is higher than that. People probably afraid to voice their opinion on their warrantless tapped NSA phone lines. Gitmo comes to mind. Im willing to bet if impeachment was actually pursued and these 2 were thrown back to the ranch, a huge majority of this country and the rest of the world would breathe a huge sigh of relief. Infact we would all party like it was 1999. Impeach, impeach, impeach. And for those who think W is Jesus(sorry Jesus) and that God appointed W, don't worry if W is impeached!! Surely it must be Gods plan!!
- TeCuervo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15"And there's no doubt in my mind, not one doubt in my mind, that we will fail." - George W Bush
- Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -21/+3361% of Americans are busy burying their heads up their own arses.
- dixta, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15Bring it on. I'd love to see the GOP completely screwed over when all their dirt surfaces.
Unfortunately, in a bureaucracy like the US Govt, things take time. It'll be a decade before everything surfaces, if at all.
I've said it before..... Bush and Cheney's actions affect the entire world, not just the US and the middle east (which was more stable before the war). The ENTIRE WORLD will cheer if those bastards get impeached, and cheer even louder if either is tried for crimes against humanity.
Call it a pipe dream, or unrealistic, maybe it is..... doesn't mean millions of people aren't screaming for it though.
If I had one thing to say to the American public, it'd be: GET OFF YOUR ASS AND VOTE. Don't forgo your vote and then complain later that your president sucks. The most committed wins.... just make sure the "most committed" is the group of people voting with their heads and doing the right thing. - dixta, on 10/12/2007, -9/+20How's 650,000 dead middle eastern civilians for a "crime"?
- diggerydood, on 10/12/2007, -11/+21Anyone have links to more of these impeachment polls??
- Rice, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14Let's keep this fair, please.
"Those who stand for nothing fall for anything." ~ Alexander Hamilton - dswinscoe, on 10/12/2007, -4/+14@koolmanoncampus: could you be more glib, please. Your simplistic generalizations and glaring disrespect render your last comment utterly meaningless. Why do so many people pull the anonymous age card as their only means of refutation? Considering the president's measly 28% rating of late from "reliable" sources, what exactly leads you to believe that the Townhall's poll result of 39% for impeachment support is so implausible? Other than your obvious bias, is it that you just don't want to hear that just a bit more than half of the 72% that think he's doing an inadequate job also think he should be fired?
- Muyoso, on 10/12/2007, -8/+16When a poll is done by Zogby or one of the other reputable polling places and the number is 39%, THEN this article is warranted. I can go take a poll right now and find that 9 out of 10 dentists agree that teeth are evil, it means *****.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+1439% of a poll with nothing backing it up is still not a majority. Nothing like wasted time.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7No. Purjury and obstruction of justice though.
- screamthenrun, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11in other news: over 39% of Americans don't know what impeachment is!
- scoobydoo84, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14@koolmanoncampus
Oh great sage, oh yoda, oh great oracle. You just have us all figured out. The only reason we would want W impeached is bc we are brainwashed. Oh enlightened one do forgive us for thinking W has done anything wrong at all that warrants impeachment. Im assuming from you screenid that you are on some US campus so go back to high campus function and light up that bong again. Lets see what else you come up with. Oh and remember its puff puff give. Remember sharing is caring!! - ri0026, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12mmm...peaches...
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11I'm curious, who invented that word, 'moonbat'? I've seen you guys use it nonstop for the past two years, but it seemed to come out of nowhere. Who exactly is the one who popularized it, and was there any other reason for combing those two words (moon and bat) besides it being easily pronounceable? I mean why not "chairpencil" or "clockbottle"?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -9/+16In other news, 100% of the rest of the world would support it as well.
- misfit410, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13Stop taking polls in San Francisco.
- XTX7X, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9You clearly have no idea of the accuracy of statistics. You wonder how news corporations can predict which candidate wins in a state during elections? It's because of polls- and they're usually right. These polls usually are taken with no more than 1000 people.
- Supernova36, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12Well then that 98% should stop asking Polish people what to do.
- monergism, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9Thirty nine percent is not enough.
- EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -6/+12"I am guessing you are 12 to 16 years old and just learned about impeachment."
Your powers of observation are underwhelming. I take it the rest of your comment is just as keen. - Rooster99, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13@nogiuliani
Dugg down for myspace. - eangel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7joclime obviously never even took elementary statistics. There's something called sampling and another called the central limit theorem. A sample size of 1000 will give a margin of error of +- 3% with 95% confidence, i.e., you can be 95% sure that the true value lies within the interval 36%-42% with a sample of 1000.
- spurtle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Well then, if she messes up royally, then we can vote her out of office or impeach her too.
- scoobydoo84, on 10/12/2007, -9/+15@tekkie001
If you say Clinton was impeached for lying under oath, then you just gave the perfect reason to impeach Bush. In case you forgot, the first thing any president does on January 20th in front of the nation is take a oath. Remember that little book and that supreme cour justice and raising of the right hand. So Bush did lie under oath and failed to uphold the constitution. Thank you for reminding us we need to impeach those who lie under oath. W took a oath twice and needs to be impeached atleast once!! - Muyoso, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Is it ironic that you don't know the Pentagon is less than 1000 feet from Washington?
- mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7No..?
- maximusGeek, on 10/12/2007, -10/+15
16% of Americans eat dog at least 2 meals a day
76% of Americans believe the other 24% are space monsters living among us
98% of Americans believe poles that provide no data to back them up are true - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8DAMN YOU CONSERVATIVE GRASSCUPS!
- ccrook, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7So when it's 39% approval its "a large majority doesn't like the presidents performance", but when its favoring impeachment its "a large minority"?
I'd like to see Bush gone, but please be consistent. - mrASSMAN, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Well I guess I got my answer: "Heinlein used the term in a 1947 short story, "Space Jockey", as the name of the third stage of a rocket bound for the moon."
Yep, just as meaningless as I suspected.
(sorry for double-post, comment timed out) - jmpeagle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I would like to hear how impeaching Bush is even remotely possible or even convictable without him actually breaking any laws
- cswnow, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7And Nancy Plunger Lips Pelosi's approval rating is 43%. Libtards can commence with the whining.
Can't have it both ways you twit libtards. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7so says rawstory. In other words, not true.
- gerbil20, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Sorry to be a johnny-come-lately, but doesn't that mean that we, the people are _AGAINST_ the impeachment?
- EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5It's a good question, but unresolved. If they both get impeached _and_ removed before the President can name new a VP to take over (who I believe has to be confirmed by the Senate), then the speaker could step in until '08, or until she nominates a replacement.
However, I think that's very unlikely, if for no other reason than the Dems would then lose '08 in a wave of resentment.
More likely is that a deal is cut, whereby Bush and/or Cheney get to nominate replacements (Bush replaces Cheney, and that person replaces Bush) that would pass confirmation.
Then it's also an open question of getting 17 GOP Senators to push for removal. More likely is that those 17 would go to Bush and get him to resign before they have to vote yes on the record.
So if impeachment passes, Bush may very well go, but not by any official act of the Senate.
Just my .02 - Muyoso, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Um, you do realize it was illegal for him to send in FEMA support until after he was asked by the governor of LA right? And you do realize that the request didn't come for DAYS. How is this not blamed on the local officials? You know, the ones who didnt use the buses and let them drown, the ones who didnt prepare in the first place, the ones who failed to ask for help until DAYS after the major disaster???
Oh, and BTW, most of the things you list are lies, and ALL of them still arent enough even IF true to impeach a president. Patriot act wasnt created by him, He has abided by the UN charter, and the geneva convention. Treatment of prisoners is fine. - dixta, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Definition for "poll":
"an inquiry into public opinion conducted by interviewing a random sample of people"
Sorry! You are not an instant winner this time. Try Again!! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5"39%?? I suspect the real number is higher than that. People probably afraid to voice their opinion on their warrantless tapped NSA phone lines."
So the 29% approval ratings are unacceptable, but 39% impeachment IS acceptable? Stop splitting hairs. And the wiretaps were done to like, 150 people - I sincerely doubt the majority of Americans are worried about fitting into less than .0000001% of the population. - nigh7dagger, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9What exactly will you impeach him for, the people not liking him? I hate to break it to you, but LEGALLY he has done nothing wrong. Even the wiretapping was legalized by the Patriot Act. This also means you can't get him for war crimes, either.
Besides, a lot of ***** good it would do. He has what, a year and six months left before he's out? Not to mention there is a opposing majority in congress and elections are coming up. He's not going to do something that is going to make it look like impeachment is the only option. - EntropyMan, on 10/12/2007, -16/+19Wow. It looks like English. But every single sentence in your comment is the exact opposite of reality. I could just recite every sentence back to you with a giant NOT in there.
