- juankovo, on 06/09/2009, -0/+38Get ready for some sunshine on that bald head of yours, Mr. Bernanke!
- IheartRonnyP, on 06/09/2009, -1/+36Awesome!!! This is a bit of good news finally!
- rmholla, on 06/09/2009, -1/+36Excellent, keep up the good work. I called my Congress Critter constantly until he signed on. So keep calling, and ask everyone you know to call too!
- indyattic, on 06/09/2009, -1/+26I do not understand why Kucinich is not on board. He tussled with the bankers in Ohio, so I know he knows their modus operandi.
- NorthMass, on 06/10/2009, -1/+24This is why HR 1207 is so important!

"Nov. 10 (Bloomberg) -- The Federal Reserve is refusing to identify the recipients of almost $2 trillion of emergency loans from American taxpayers or the troubled assets the central bank is accepting as collateral. "
Amazing that so few politicians even acknowledged this. - Xihix, on 06/10/2009, -0/+21I don't see how anyone can oppose this. Millions of US citizens are audited every year by the IRS, yet we can't audit the facility that makes all of our money and uses it without any oversight whatsoever? What harm could come out of this for anyone to oppose to?
- juankovo, on 06/09/2009, -0/+19We delivered a petition to our Congressman's office with 424 local signatures on it (gathered over a single weekend), and he signed on 11 days later.
- kemp34, on 06/09/2009, -0/+18Nice work.
My Rep was one of the early signers and one of the first Democrats to sign on. I sent him a number of faxes and this was my last one I sent before he signed. I hope I helped:
"I notice that HR 1207: The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009 has been growing in co-sponsors and is now up to 39. This includes both Republicans and Democrats, indicating the wide, bi-partisan appeal of such a basic thing as auditing the privately-owned banking system that was granted power to issue our currency.
One thing that is disheartening me at the moment is your failure to join in as a co-sponsor for this basic common sense piece of legislation. At a time of trillions of dollars of present and future taxpayer money being thrown around like confetti, it would behoove those charged with the Constitutional task of overseeing our money system (the legislative branch, the U.S. Congress) to perform their basic oversight function. It goes without saying that any sensible representative of the people would see the wisdom in understanding what types of assets are being used to back our currency, as we have already unconstitutionally left the gold and silver backed tender in debt payments as explicitly laid out in Article 1, Section 10 of the United States Constitution.
I will continue to follow this legislation online and I expect that, given the above mentioned basic facts of the matter, you will see the sensibility in adding your name, as a representative of the people of our district, as a co-sponsor in this long overdue bit of oversight of the heavily secretive Federal Reserve System.
Failure to act in this regard will indicate a breach of your responsibility under the Constitution and will force me and others who understand the facts of the matter to campaign heavily against you in the upcoming 2010 congressional election.
Thank you for doing the proper thing and supporting this common sense legislation. Again, HR 1207: The Federal Reserve Transparency Act of 2009." - IheartRonnyP, on 06/10/2009, -0/+17He's got his own bill about the Fed (with a whopping 3 co-sponsors) and he's too selfish or whatever to jump on board with HR 1207.
- Njon, on 06/10/2009, -0/+17House Minority Leader John Boehner; it's amazing to see his name on this list.
- juankovo, on 06/10/2009, -0/+16Kucinich talks a good game sometimes, but you can't count on him when you really need him.
- dupems, on 06/10/2009, -1/+17The most important bill of Ron Paul's career. End the Fed!
- NorthMass, on 06/10/2009, -0/+15I also am saddened that Kucinich hasn't co-sponsered it.
- inactive, on 06/10/2009, -1/+15dugg for liberty*)
- henri3, on 06/10/2009, -1/+13Dugg for Taking Action!!
- NorthMass, on 06/10/2009, -0/+12Agreed, there is no use anymore for the Fed because it just causes inflation and market bubbles.
- beand1p, on 06/10/2009, -1/+12this bill is refreshing
- CoolHandLuke70, on 06/10/2009, -0/+11I do not trust Boehner.
- libertygal76, on 06/10/2009, -0/+11Thanks digg for taking away the shout feature -- HOW am I to share this with my digg friends??
- rv361162, on 06/10/2009, -1/+11They said it wouldn't get more than 45-50 sponsors, then no more than 100, and there are still people in the movement and against the movement that say it's not going to pass or go anywhere!
It's going to pass and face it, the ***** will hit the fan! I can't wait! - juankovo, on 06/10/2009, -1/+10My grandmother was born six years before the Federal Reserve was established. She lived through the Great Depression thanks to the Fed's machinations. Now we are living through the second Great Depression, again thanks to the Fed. It's time to get this baby out in the open and exposed for the fraud and wealth destroyer that it is.
- jscoppe, on 06/10/2009, -0/+9My Rep. (Patrick Murphy D, PA-08) finally signed on as of 6/9/09. I spoke with him in person and sent 3 emails.
- NorthMass, on 06/10/2009, -0/+8Its great news. =)
- kemp34, on 06/10/2009, -1/+9Front page this bad boy digg!!
- juankovo, on 06/10/2009, -0/+8Isn't it nice when the name of the bill actually reflects what the bill's contents say?
- fiatjustitia, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7I sincerely hope this goes somewhere- keep the pressure on.
Audit the Fed, follow the money, and find out what is *really* going on behind closed doors. - katie212, on 06/10/2009, -1/+8Every american should be on board with transparency of the FED. The FED doesn't feel that americans have a need to know where there all of their bailout monies have been spent or where the so called "lost" billions of their hardearned money went.
- juankovo, on 06/10/2009, -1/+8Email? Facebook? Twitter? Tin-can phone?
- otbeverly, on 06/10/2009, -0/+7Funny how some of these guys have names that look and sound alike.
Can some people move to Alabama's First Congressional District so that piece of crony ***** Jo Bonner (you've never heard of him, never will since he's never does anything) can be voted out of office, along with every other representative of the state. You never hear them do anything. Look back at the history of Senators and representatives from Alabama. It's always the last guy's chief of staff who's elected after the current guy retires. It's a constant stream of Republican partisan voters that go up there and never do anything. Once a candidate gets the Republican nomination, they're sent off to Washington for life. Granted, they were all once Conservative Democrats, but that all changed 40 years or so ago, long before my time.
Oh yeah, since we're on the topic of banking, it'd be nice to get rid of Richard Shelby as well since he is the ranking member on the Senate committee on banking. Doesn't ever do squat other than that. I won't even get into what a piece of ***** Jeff Sessions is. The only time you hear of him is when he makes an ignorant statement. These are the people who are major parts of the problem. - kemp34, on 06/10/2009, -1/+7Marsha Blackburn signs on to the cause "drinking water".
Would you be against that cause? - juankovo, on 06/10/2009, -0/+6Now we've gotta get Pelosi on board too! :D
- Njon, on 06/10/2009, -0/+6Even though he's untrustworthy (as most members of Congress are), it says a lot that we created enough of a stir over this bill to get him to co-sponsor. The time is here for the much more difficult Senate battle.
- Njon, on 06/10/2009, -0/+6I wouldn't count on that happening.
- libertygal76, on 06/10/2009, -0/+6LOL Wiseguy! I don't know how to reach most of them outside of digg!
- Waiting2awake, on 06/10/2009, -1/+7That is rather pavlovinian isn't it?
- Clark1984, on 06/10/2009, -0/+6If your representative is on the list be sure to email or call to let them know you are in support of this act.
Republican list of non-sponsors: http://www.dailypaul.com/node/92621
Democratic list of non-sponsors: http://www.dailypaul.com/node/95533 - Waiting2awake, on 06/10/2009, -0/+6On behalf of Americans - thank you.
- WildSatchmo, on 06/10/2009, -1/+7This new grassroots community that has become the freedom movement is amazing. To see so many people from different parts of our country banding together to move mountains like HR 1207 is breathtaking. I am excited to imagine the things we will do in the future.
- jmatte1, on 06/10/2009, -1/+6Keep up the exposer and make sure more and more people hear of HR 1207. Maybe reckless spending and printing of money will become a bigger issue to more people!! Also hopefully when this is passed it will be the beginning of the end to the FED
- emailowndme, on 06/10/2009, -0/+5Due to the numbers in the house, and the fact that less than 30% vote in the bi-annual (or non presidential elections), the house usually is like a house of cats, less easily herded into following any particular plan.
I know my house rep, Ken Calvert is a utter piece of ***** as well. The guy has consistently, since entering office, been listed as one of the most corrupt house members, and is known for putting land up for sale to the Federal government, selling it, then killing whatever program the land was supposed to be used for, and rebuying it on the cheap.
But due to the fact no one really cares about the house, and the very miniscule amounts of money spent on the house elections, that the minimal fanfare for particular house reps, the incumbents usually win.
Anyway, yeah, seems a lot of us here aren't happy with our house representation, interesting. - libertygal76, on 06/10/2009, -0/+5Don't know why...and it WAS a great feature! :-(
- Waiting2awake, on 06/10/2009, -0/+4That is a good point. I wonder if some of these people are reading the tea-leaves and are seeing the amount they gain with supporting the bankers, isn't worth the risk of what the populace will do to them now that enough people are taking notice, and the usual appeals to distract us not working as well as they have in the past.
- Waiting2awake, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3Not a hope in hell. She is one of those that need to be investigated with regards to the war, torture, etc, etc, etc...
- kward711, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3sad to see nobody from my state sponsoring it. I'll be sure to email and call them until they do.
- Waiting2awake, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3Way to go Kemp!
That is one fine ass looking letter/fax you got there. I am sure it helped. - ThomasDiggsPeg, on 06/10/2009, -1/+4Once the foot is in the door when this passes it is over for the FED. Then it will be time for RICO indictments...
- drmangrum, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3Mine isn't!
- fiatjustitia, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3Grr.... mine's on the list.
- juankovo, on 06/10/2009, -0/+3Then CALL him/her!
