- inactive, on 08/17/2008, -8/+116Yea I'm sorry for this video since there were other ones that didn't have that junk after 4:00 but they were already submitted. None of them reached the Front Page, so I hope this one does so people see this important video.

Boom boom boom boom boom boom boomboomboom boom boom boom boom boom - inactive, on 08/17/2008, -22/+122Most Americans fail to realize that they are being manipulated. Even the citizen who complains about "managed news" falls into the trap of thinking that because he is presented with an apparent spectrum of opinion he can escape the thought controllers' influence by believing the editor or commentator of his choice. It's a "heads I win, tails you lose" situation. Every point on the permissible spectrum of public opinion is acceptable to the media masters—and no impermissible fact or viewpoint is allowed any exposure at all, if they can prevent it.
The young girl and the lady were giving an impermissible viewpoint, they were rapidly silenced. - dball48, on 08/17/2008, -2/+88Normal people can't here them screaming cut to a commercial, but the guy who made this video can because he knows far more about the deep dark secrets of the nwo-illuminati.
- Ashes42, on 08/17/2008, -28/+112It's a touching story and all, but how do they know who were bombing them? From what I understand of the conflict, the people in Ossetia are more Russian than Georgian, and don't want to be a part of Georgia. Given that, why would they ever say Russia bombed them? I'm sorry, but two civilians from the area, who got bombed and then fled to the nice Russians, don't have much credibility. It's quite possible it was the Georgian's who started the conflict. But I just don't think we'd hear it from people who saw nothing but explosions. Give me someone who saw Georgian troops march in and do ***** they aren't supposed to. Fox new handled it like crap though. Very contrived. Though arguing against a 12 year old won't win them any points either. What they should have done is ask probing questions, but Fox seems to have forgotten how to do that, it's been so long.
- dazealex, on 08/17/2008, -26/+110Wonder how much extra FOX must pay you to work there when it really is a lame false news channel.
- Hawk2007, on 08/17/2008, -37/+111She was clearly advancing someone's agenda.
It's not like she was asked who she thought was at fault, but rather had a planned and prepared statement. Shep could have asked, "What color was the sky that day?" and her answer would have been the same, "It was a bright blue day but let me take this time to say..."
And plus, all you diggers are making a HUGE mistake if you underestimate the Russian presence and intentions in that part of the world. If they thought they could be the lone superpower in the world, they'd do it overnight even if it meant using nukes. Instead, they know the US would level the country if their ambitions were ever that overt.
Don't make the same mistakes the Europeans made to appease Hitler and assume people have good intentions. - laguano, on 08/17/2008, -11/+82Did someone really say cut to commercials? Or is he just lying?
- grungegbunny, on 08/17/2008, -3/+71I was really digging it till the NWO Illuminati thing. A website with thousands of supporters to rival youtube? Don't see it.

Amanda Kokoeva is famous for saying the Truth to the world on Fox News - MacSuxWindozSux, on 08/17/2008, -8/+61The issue is that they went to commercial to eat up all the extra time they had. They didn't want them to sit there and talk about Russia being good guys for 5 mins.
It's not the story Fox wants to tell, and that's the problem. - alembert, on 08/17/2008, -35/+88Aunt and 12 yo are Ossetians. Ossetians hate Georgians and love Russians. Those 2 are as baised as Fox. They are telling their truth, not the truth...like Fox.
- adamorjames, on 08/17/2008, -27/+78It's easy to make quick assumptions, but I think it is better to be open minded in judging when this type of event happens. I see at least two sides to this: "It's a conspiracy." and "Everything broadcasted is timed." What about others?

*colbert report - borez, on 08/17/2008, -11/+59Truth outs. This whole issue and the mainstream media twisting is making me sick. Blaming the Russians for helping the Ossetians after a Georgian US backed ethnic cleansing operation is just ***** up.
IMO: Look at Georgia's position on a World map, then look at the positions of Iraq and Afghanistan then ask the question: " What or who sits right in the middle of all of this? " Iran... that's who. Georgia is therefore in a perfect position to complete an Iranian land lock for a US strategic military operation. Mark my words, there will be US troop in Georgia within the month under the BS guise of a Georgian 'Peacekeeping' force.
The whole thing is utter bollocks and the mainstream media ( even the BBC ) is lying it's back teeth off.
This Russian guy spells it out:

- DeadFox1, on 08/17/2008, -28/+71I hate FOX news as much as the next guy, but they really do have "hard breaks" where they must cut to commercial.. I've seen it happen many times before on CNN and MSNBC too.
- Kyan, on 08/17/2008, -4/+40Yes, but when they came back on air and the woman was speaking, saying Saakashvili is to blame, he muttered something like (and I paraphrase) "Yes, that's exactly what the Russians want you to think". So, whether they cut to a commercial or tried to cut off their guests is really a moot point. Rather than let them speak, he inserted his editorial comment about the Russians wanting people to think the Georgians are to blame.
But - and this for me if the "WTF?" moment - if the channel really did want to have a "pro-Georgian" comment, what did they think they were going to get by inviting someone on TV who was in South Ossetia when it happened? Stupid, clueless news people. Of course those guests, who were bombed on Aug 7 in South Ossetia, are going to blame the Georgians. So, the news guys are just plain stupid. - draculthemad, on 08/17/2008, -11/+45It really isnt as simple as the Ossettians simply wishing to secede.
Their de-facto splinter government has 60% of its operating costs funded directly by the russians. This is a matter of public record.
It sounds like the georgians might have gotten ahead of themselves and attacked when/how they shouldnt have. Thats as much a failure of our foreign policy and intelligence assets as anything. I mean, did we not know they were going to do this? Did we not know that the russians were just across the border and ready/willing to come running? Did we somehow forget to let our allies the georgians know this?
The S. Ossettian Independence movement has russian hands all over it. Now, in the russian counter attack you have south ossettian paramilitary forces operating directly with the russians that presumable armed and trained them. This kind of hints the "peace-keeping" operations the russians were doing might have gone a little farther than you wold think... Not to mention, these irregulars are robbing UN personal at GUNPOINT while the russian army looks on and does nothing.
This whole situation is a lot more complicated than it may seem at first glance. It is certainly not something we can afford to just shrug our shoulders over and sneer that the georgians "had it coming". If we let the russians start playing the regions ethnic groups against each other and shaving off client states left and right, exactly where does that put us in the long term? - Leprince, on 08/17/2008, -11/+459. - hiPpymIck, on 08/17/2008, -2/+32girl was from US on family visit

- inactive, on 08/17/2008, -4/+30The story of Amanda Kokoeva has received international attention. Here is a story from Russia Today.
"Biased broadcast? Moscow accuses U.S. TV of gagging victims’ stories"
http://www.russiatoday.com/news/news/29104
Upon her return to the United States, she and her aunt Laura Tedeeva gave several interviews, including a live appearance on Fox News.
Laura told viewers: “I want you to know who is to blame for this conflict and that’s Mr Saakashvili who started this war and who is an aggressor. 2000 people were killed in one day...”
After a number of tentative attempts to stop her talking, at this moment the presenter more forcefully interrupted her, saying it was time for a commercial break.
“Yeah, I know you don’t want to hear that,” Laura responded.
Laura says she is not pro-Russia. Her mother is Georgian and her father is South Ossetian, but she simply wanted to tell the truth about what her family went through.
She told RT: “I wanted the Americans to know that Russia didn’t start that war.”
Laura says she prays for her family and hopes there will be no more bombing.
Amanda's father is currently in South Ossetia to make sure his relatives are out of harm's way. The family says everyone is fine and they will only leave their homeland if the fighting resumes.
Amanda hopes to see her father again soon. And despite her ordeal in South Ossetia, the 12-year-old girl would like to go back there one day. - jotate, on 08/17/2008, -12/+37Bah, I read your comment before jumping into the video, but read it as "Ignore everything until the 4:00 mark." I was wondering how your comment had become the top dugg for the article, thinking maybe the zomgconspiracy folks had truly taken over.
One more frightening situation avoided thanks to reading comprehension. - Hangly, on 08/17/2008, -3/+2810. People just aren't buying this "War on Terror." Russia is a much more convincing enemy.
- lendrick, on 08/17/2008, -0/+24The Cheat, I got you that light switch so you could turn the lights on, and off. Not so that you could throw light switch raves. Now let's go pour that light stick into Homestar Runner's mountain new.
- Chronictrees, on 08/17/2008, -0/+23Cue techno viking.
- STARTSOMETHING, on 08/17/2008, -2/+25Did you hear his last words to the aunt. "Well that's certainly what the Russians want." And exactly what does fox news want us to believe?
- naner, on 08/17/2008, -1/+24Wow, nothing like starting off your Sunday by seeing pictures of dead bodies burning..
- quisph, on 08/17/2008, -3/+26Plausible deniability. 30 seconds is enough time to make it look like you're not deliberately silencing someone, while not really giving them enough time to say anything substantive.
I'm not saying that's necessarily the case, but if they WERE trying to silence them, it would look kind of suspicious to cut them off so abruptly and then not show them again. - SwedishNinja, on 08/17/2008, -2/+24Oonst-oonst-oonst CAN YOU FEEL THE BEAT
- jackcall, on 08/17/2008, -5/+27you're funny... these two were there and you don't think they should be allowed to tell what they endured?
if fox was trying to present matters in an unbiased way, they would not have cut these two off, they would have interviewed some Georgians as well.
claiming that fox news is balanced is as far fetched as calling the daily show news... I swear, I'm so sick of North Americans inability to think critically and analyze for them self... - Kyan, on 08/17/2008, -1/+22And like I mentioned above, the anchor inserted a "of course, that what the Russians want you to think" editorial comment, didn't he?
- Cubeforce, on 08/17/2008, -18/+38Yeah, a family of Ossetians blaming Georgia, such "ownage".
Georgia isn't perfect, but to solely blame them, and not the Russians as well is very short sighted. - reuscel, on 08/17/2008, -14/+33I don't know. Are all conservatives given a klansman's hood when they are born?
- inactive, on 08/17/2008, -2/+21So this was closer to the truth after all:
http://digg.com/world_news/What_Russian_Media_is_R ...
I don't put the blame on us, it's a shame what the media has become, we CAN'T trust it anymore. I personally didn't knew that Fox News will go that far in what censoring is concerned, as a non-American I'm just familiar with the channel since a few months back. But is really disturbing that the number 1 news channel of the States is such a propaganda machine. You're the leader of the Free World and if you make a mistake the world will feel it, I know my country would.
And to think that this morning I thought that the Russia-Georgia conflict was 'genuine', I mean, I thought that there was always the possibility that the US media was taking it out of proportions in order to make Russia look like the bad guy and further their own warmongers agenda but that I was getting the whole conflict wrong never crossed my mind. I'm always open minded tho... I will know better next time. -
