I enjoy these articles, because it attracts the Paul supporters like flies. The comments to the article by Paul supporters are always more entertaining than the actual article.

At the very LEAST this sounds somewhat suspicious. At best, it could be simple cronyism, but at worst it could be laundering campaign donations to his friends and/or family and/or acquaintances. And we all know, based on prior indiscretions from Paul's office (certain racist newsletters), that they might not be above doing something else immoral.

Personally, if I were a typical paul supporter who donated $2,300, I would be DEMANDING a scrupulous audit into where all the millions went.

Assuming no illegal activity (innocent until proven guilty), at the very least, it just goes to show you how ***** a job mr. "the only real fiscal conservative" did managing something as trivial as campaign financing (a drop in the hat compared to the US budget).

First, that he’s not a man above attempting to enrich himself through populist opportunism. Second, that someone whose entire life up until this point was strictly small-time might not be up to the challenge of effectively managing tens of millions of dollars.

Where did the money go? It evaporated. Some of it went to his friends. The rest of it – most of it probably – went to smooth-talking consultants who bamboozled him as effectively as Lyle Lanley did when he sold the people of Springfield a used Monorail."



The dude is wasting his breath. Ron Paul supporters don't allow any critical thinking. The obvious is some grand conspiracy to them...

If you really want to know where all of that money went, I would suggest checking his daughter's purse.

Apparently it all went to a hot air balloon or something, from what I read on digg.

Paul should host a website and let people vote to which charity to send most of the remaining money to.

And there's always the possibility that there were moles in his campaign that wrote the checks to the companies that they chose. I doubt Ron Paul personally signed and knew of every check that was paid out. I gave my $2300, and in keeping with his platform of honesty and transparency, I would indeed like to see an audit published on his website.

Spending donated campaign funds on a failed campaign until his money runs dry....a hero of fiscal conservatism indeed!
