- Ratteler, on 02/11/2009, -7/+72This is exactly WHY we need guns. Because AFTER they pass ***** like this, you can't get one... legally that is.
- momzilla54, on 02/11/2009, -1/+57(4) IDEOLOGICALLY BASED VIOLENCE- The term `ideologically based violence' means the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual's political, religious, or social beliefs.
This includes skinheads, racist groups, and the KKK, but it also include pro life groups, pro gun groups, anti government groups, animal rights groups, gay rights groups, immigration groups pro or con - in short, anyone who feels strongly enough about anything to be part of a group that protests the status quo. - treehugger87, on 02/11/2009, -1/+48Gawd, if only Bush had been dumb enough to add gun possession to the Patriot act we all could have stood up against it together. How come the gun lovers won't tolerate even a conversation about gun rights, but will allow the Government to torture, wiretap without a warrant, investigate banking records and kidnap foreign citizens without so much as a peep.
- richmomz, on 02/12/2009, -1/+39What I want to know is why the government is so concerned about "homegrown terrorism" all of a sudden. Are they worried about something that might happen in the near future that would drive people towards extremism, and if so what would it be?
- SilverBlade2k, on 02/12/2009, -0/+38Freedoms are like dominoes. It takes a freaking long time to get them and set them up, but one motion can cause all of them to fall.
- artsii, on 02/12/2009, -3/+39Criminals and terrorists won't follow gun laws because they are criminals. This is just making it harder to defend yourself against such a threat.
- 45superman, on 02/11/2009, -1/+29If they're going to treat me like a terrorist, I guess I might as well study my Anarchist's Cookbook--there are some tasty looking recipes in there.
- inactive, on 02/12/2009, -0/+28I think getting on television and telling the American people to fear terrorists and give up rights for our safety is the biggest act of terrorism we've ever seen.
- 45superman, on 02/11/2009, -1/+27Exactly--this could be used (and abused) to scoop up just about ANY political advocacy group.
- FreakyT, on 02/12/2009, -0/+18Like that one for the chocolate layer cake.
- Decimit, on 02/12/2009, -0/+16What many people don't realize is the use of the word "force" has potential to cause great problems. They worded it as such to separate force from violence making it two separate classifications that would apply to this bill. Many things can be considered force without being violent and with the specific wording used, someone left a lot of interpretation in this that could easily be applied to many actions that would match the letter of the law, but definitely not the intention.
- 45superman, on 02/11/2009, -0/+14I can't speack for the "Bush conservatives," not being one myself. Actually, I think there's nothing about gun rights advocacy that goes against the principles of liberalism--certainly not classical liberalism.
- random90210, on 02/12/2009, -0/+14It would be the government. get ready...
- treehugger87, on 02/11/2009, -0/+14Hmmm, I tend to blame the Bush conservatives and they tend to blame the liberals. Maybe we're fighting against each other when we're really on the same team...
- 45superman, on 02/11/2009, -2/+16I keep seeing this accusation that critics of draconian, unconstitutional gun laws were silent during Bush's various acts of rape against the Constitution. I certainly was not silent, although when I write a column for the St. Louis GUN RIGHTS Examiner, I tend to focus on . . . gun rights, believe it or not (the column only started 5 days before Obaman's inauguration, anyway).
- LeepII, on 02/12/2009, -0/+13Speak out against the NWO, your a terrorist.
- ninjaturtles1, on 02/12/2009, -1/+14Isn't it obvious? The economic melt down in Amercia will see a new class of people born that are so pov they will have nothing left to loose and this leads to extremism!
- michaelhood, on 02/12/2009, -0/+11Dugg for best metaphor I've seen since 12 years ago:
Elaine: David and I will not be getting back together.
Jerry: Elaine, breaking up is like knocking over a coke machine. You can’t do it in one push, you got to rock it back and forth a few times, and then it goes over.
George: That’s beautiful. - shawns, on 02/11/2009, -3/+14Patriot Act FTW!
- Hetman, on 02/11/2009, -0/+11For the Win. But I beleive he is being sarcastic.
- AlienMushroom, on 02/12/2009, -3/+13Marshall Law in a different name.
- japandave, on 02/12/2009, -0/+10Patriot Act WTF?!
- Ceryn1126, on 02/12/2009, -0/+9And with that comment you sir are now ineligible to own a gun.
- CrudOMatic, on 02/12/2009, -2/+11A few stories... and you side with anti-2nd amendment people?
Man, you need to learn something: stereotypes are a bitch! - inactive, on 02/12/2009, -0/+9"Bush conservative"
That's an oxymoron.
"gun lovers won't tolerate even a conversation about gun rights, but will allow the Government to torture, wiretap without a warrant, investigate banking records and kidnap foreign citizens without so much as a peep"
Hate to tell you this, but those who allowed the government to do these things extended quite far beyond some gun lovers. It reached into both sides of the aisle. - CrudOMatic, on 02/12/2009, -2/+11Ignoring what has happened in this country since 1913 makes you lose all credibility as an intelligent human being.
I guess you just don't have enough time to study history.
Leaders calling for a one-world government, like Obama (albeit sublimely), isn't a sign of a coming ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT???!?!?!?
That is what the NWO is all about. I guess you think it is just all Socialist puppy-dogs and kittens. I guess you want it. - euphoriadj, on 02/12/2009, -0/+8more like FTL

The
Lose - CrudOMatic, on 02/12/2009, -2/+10I guess when armed burglers break into your house and kill your family, you will feel the same about guns in the home?
- dbzssj44676, on 02/12/2009, -1/+9Gun control... for the children.
Global Warming... for the children.
We search your home for sharp objects and took your children away... for the children.
We accidentally... for the children.
I know its a basic instinct to protect your offspring, but for the gov to play on the emotions that coincide with defending those you care about like this is just disgusting.
Get a grip on reality.
How many vets are mentally ill, according to the gov.
How many people have been charge with misdemeanors 30 years ago.
Why can't you acknowledge that the gov doesn't care about you. The second amendment doesn't give you the rights to defend yourself, it acknowledges them formally, that you have them. - CrudOMatic, on 02/12/2009, -1/+9It's attitudes like yours that will guarantee this nation will fall... and nothing will be done about it.
Don't worry, your Obama/Biden sign will save you. - patparazzi, on 02/11/2009, -2/+9Patriot Act FTW!
- CrudOMatic, on 02/12/2009, -1/+8Obama trying to tamper with control of the census:
http://online.wsj.com/video/obama-wants-control-of ... - 45superman, on 02/11/2009, -1/+8At risk of exposing my ignorance here, what does "FTW" mean?
- Samurai77, on 02/12/2009, -0/+7Is this the "Change" everyone was talking about? MORE infringement of basic rights?
- navcat, on 02/12/2009, -0/+6go to india, the hindu extremist brigades RSS ABVP BD SRS follow a ideology based violence they kill with swords.. they dont use guns. GUns are for cowards is what they say. Gujarat has alredy had a genocide.
- nerdzero, on 02/12/2009, -1/+8Never say never, especially considering the US was founded by an organized revolution. The 2nd amendment is so important because it's the only thing that lets you at least try and preserve your freedom when they come to take to it away. Our founding fathers put it there for a reason. If they didn't have weapons, the revolution would have failed and they knew that. They also knew that any government, even one they set up, was susceptible to corruption.
Also, Bush ran his two terms and was done. We didn't need a violent revolution to remove him from power and we won't need one as long as we can elect our leaders. - sugarazor, on 02/12/2009, -2/+9PETA already is a terrorist organization.
- 45superman, on 02/11/2009, -0/+7Ah--thanks.
- dbzssj44676, on 02/12/2009, -2/+8I told them too, but I guess logic is just to hard to comprehend when some jackass is dancing all over everyone's emotions.
For the rest of my life I will associate the image of all those sheeple screaming "YES WE CAN!" to the tune of Bob the builder. - mwrl, on 02/12/2009, -0/+5Bombing innocent people, that is the way of the warrior!

- Jacare, on 02/12/2009, -1/+6because Government torture, wiretap without a warrant, investigate banking records and kidnap foreign citizens doesn't immediately effect them so they don't care. i doubt that bush had anything to do with writing the patriot act Cheney probably briefly and poorly explained it to him right before he signed it.
- BassMasterP, on 02/12/2009, -0/+5control, it's all about control
- AlienMushroom, on 02/12/2009, -0/+5Martial Law, happy?
- 45superman, on 02/11/2009, -0/+5That was supposed to be "speak," rather than "speack," of course--I'm not much of a proofreader when it comes to comments.

Be very very careful alot of those 'recipes' are mer conjecture.
This comes from someone's experience surely not mine;)
- methylamine, on 02/12/2009, -0/+4Google "political ponerology"; it's the study of evil among politicians.
The "ruling class" have become a subset of humanity known to psychiatrists as "sociopaths", or in clinical terms those having an Antisocial Personality Disorder. In your and my terms, they're psycho; unable to experience remorse or empathy, they have a huge advantage over normal people in that they will do anything to exploit and destroy those around them for their own gain or pleasure.
Truly, we are "ruled" by criminals. When humanity awakens to the fact that there are about 4% of us who are complete predators, we will act to stop their rise to power.
Power does not corrupt. Rather, the already-corrupt SEEK power.
Which of us normals wishes to rule over others, to tell them what to do, to send them to fatal wars? Not many if any. -
