- moontime, on 03/15/2008, -1/+19Sadly, people don't understand economics and they believe everything the media and government tells them.
- Kent4jmj, on 03/15/2008, -1/+15At this point it seems that Divine Intervention is needed. Keep trying the ordinary means but it does not look good.
- phenry, on 03/15/2008, -1/+13You're quite right, I fear. Could be a rude awakening...
- inactive, on 03/16/2008, -0/+9At this point on Saturday night it looks like there will be big intervention of the worldly kind on Monday morning to keep Bear Stearns solvent. WaMu is next and CitiGroup looks pretty shaky.
I don't see God miraculously solving our problems so that unscrupulous bankers and politicians can live lives of unbridled hedonism. I am afraid that we're on our own.
I'll wager that within one month from today the Fed will have spit up 500 billion to save the American banking industry, thereby wiping out the average guy's savings and future.
Good thing no-one wanted to listen to Ron Paul................ - Antarcticn, on 03/16/2008, -1/+9Duhh, if it ain't on "American Idol" or other reality TV brain poison, duhh, I don't unnerstan nuffin'. Who d'ya tink'll win da "Dancin' wif da Stars" tanite?
- chessmasterjoe, on 03/16/2008, -0/+7The powers that be are doing this on purpose. After the dollar collapses they will come with a cure for all of our problems, the amero. I think they want us to revolt so they can bring on martial law.
- inactive, on 03/17/2008, -0/+7I've tried to tell my friends to position themselves for a big economic downturn. I've told them that some banks are insolvent but they laugh and call me a conspiracy theorist.
Seems to me that people can't think any more. Television has rotted their brains and besides, it's so much easier to ignore problems than to actually deal with them. - inactive, on 03/18/2008, -0/+5I've been raising Hell about this for what seems like an eternity now and no one seems to care.
- PeppermintPig, on 03/18/2008, -0/+3Some people will refuse to believe you until the very end, whether that means buying the promises of the government, or thinking everybody critical of the government is some kind of conspiracy nut.
Sometimes it takes a while for people to act, even when such action is in their own best interest, to paraphrase an appropriate quote that I can't clearly recall at the moment.
A Question: In light of the situation, how much would you invest in precious metals?
