- PATSCRU, on 10/12/2007, -3/+126i guess personal turmoil just means questioning the administration. In other news, more than 65% of Americans are going through severe personal turmoil.
- davesbrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+26@patriot1776
Didn't take you long to bring up the wonderful little "leftist conspiracy theory" remark. Is everything not on the right a "leftist conspiracy theory?" - DaWolfman, on 10/12/2007, -8/+27@PATSCRU
I logged-in just to digg you up. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+207 YEARS of THE BLAME GAME.....from the self-serving Republican Party, the Party of 1000 Excuses
It's the liberals. It's the ACLU. It's Clinton. It's Monica. It's the "climate of permissiveness". It's France. It's the liberal media. It's Clinton's p*nis. It's Hillary. It's Gov. Dean. We never could have known they'd fly planes into buildings. "No actionable intelligence". They didn't tell us to do anything. O'Neill's lying. Clarke's lying. General Shinseki's lying. The Union of Concerned Scientists is lying. Our own weapons inspector David Kay's lying. Wilson's lying. John Dean's lying. Newsweek lied! CBS lied! Everyone's lying but us. We had to lie. We never lied.
Plame outed herself. Her husband outed her. The liberals outed her. No one outed her, since everyone already knew her covert identity. Rove had nothing to do with it. No comment. Lib'ral, lib'ral, lib'ral.
It's the libs that tried to pull Schiavo's feeding tube. It doesn't matter that DeLay pulled his own dad's feeding tube. "Culture of life". It's Janet Jackson's boobs; it's the Statue of Justice's boobs. Reading the news might cloud my judgement. It's the "decade our government...blinded itself to our enemies". It's the homosexuals wanting to marry. "Restore honor and dignity to the White House". A decision to go to war wasn't a decision to go to war. "No actionable intelligence". It's the pledge of allegiance. They're taking God out of America. Osama didn't tell us when, how, where, and by what means he'd attack, and he didn't leave a forwarding address. The 9/11 panel is biased against us. Saddam = Al Qaida. Saddam = Al Qaida.
Chalabi's an honorable man and I believe everything he says about WMDs. Chalabi's a crook and he passed secrets to Iran. Chalabi's the liberals' fault because they didn't shoot us when we started using his "intelligence". Chalabi? I don't know any 'Chalabi'!
It's just a few dead-enders. They'll be gone when we capture Saddam. They'll be gone when we capture Saddam's sons. They'll be gone when we hand over "sovereignty". They'll be gone when Iraq has elections. They'll be gone in 12 years. They'll never be gone.
We fight them in London so we don't have to fight them, er, uh, well, can't get fooled again!
Bolton didn't lie! He just knowingly gave inaccurate answers under oath!
Aw, so what's another ISLAMIC STATE in the mideast? It's not like Bush has made it a home for terrorists or anything!
It's all these former staffers hawking their books. Money never corrupted anyone. "I'm a uniter, not a divider!" It's the stem cells. It's the feminazis, the intellectual elitists, and the ecoterrorists.
It's the Hurricane, It's the victims. It's the poor. It's the dead. It's the disabled... the elderly. It's those that didn't evacuate. It's the buses.
Bible-God told us to do it!
It's Cthulhu. It's the martians, It's Mickey Mouse, It's The Tooth Fairy, etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc., etc.,
It's ALWAYS anyone but the GOP!! - Fumz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+17patriot1776,
Your reply makes you seem really stupid. What sort of proof do you want aside from the horse ***** that just flew out of Dan's mouth? The man said it, yet, inexplicably, you seem to be able to deny it. Amazing. You don't seem to mind good ole Dan not being able to back up his accusations... why is that? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16""Typical lib replies. Why dont you all come back when you have some PROOF of these accusations, instead of insane-leftist conspiracy theories.""
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Do you get paid to post this *****? Complete retards you Bush psychos are!!
Bush is a border-line retard corporate whore puppet. Never forget who supported this failure, don't let them distance themselves from him. Whining about Libs and Dems and Clinton and Kerry and gay sex, while offering nothing of substance - and most notably - no defense for the lying little sack of ***** from Texas they shackled us with!
America's enemy is the idiot who IGNORES that Bush lied to us about Iraq, IGNORES that Bush defends treason, IGNORES that Bush was asleep at the wheel on 9/11, IGNORES that Bush had already blundered our war effort in Iraq, IGNORES that Bush still tries to link Iraq and 911, IGNORES that Bush was going to run amok with our Constitution and still voted to re-elect this miserable failure.
The enemy from within has perpetuated this death and devastation. Don't forget it.
It is because of a bush voter that the country is in the atrocious position it is in today. - otheruser, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14@partiot1776
Though you may believe you're appealing to the general public with your comment "Typical lib replies. Why dont you all come back when you have some PROOF of these accusations, instead of insane-leftist conspiracy theories." you'll be surprised to learn that fewer Americans are buying into conservative agendas. - Dayyve, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13@noupsell
I agree that's just low low low to say that losing a child equates to being a loony. The Republicans are just masters at the art of the massacre - they've had too much practice honing that skill to a razor sharp point to whittle away at the general populace's decent sensibilities. The demoralizing thing is that instead of people being outraged over an indignant comment concerning losing a child (two of them, in fact) sheeple will be sitting in the bars going "Yeah, but that Dowd is off his rocker. You'd probably do the same thing if you went through what he did!" instead rationalizing personal enlightenment into a decision forced by his split-personality. - deadbaby, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13What a bunch of creeps. Do these people have ANY decency?
- hawkeye17, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13More evidence that many in the Bush Administration have all the moral grounding of Ted Bundy. It's sickening to bring up his daughter's death in a smear. These men have NO conscience whatsoever.
- davesbrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13He's a dear, close friend of mine, and now he's a traitor.
- Th0Rr, on 10/12/2007, -5/+16@DaWolfman
I logged-in just to digg you and PATSCRU up. - Calann, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13He has attacked King George, he must be persecuted!
- dbanshe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11@ ozzyman
Wait, Finger pointing with or against the administration? They need finger pointing against them as much as they always spout, "let's not play the blame game" after they do something or fail to do something horrible resulting in negligence. It's the American people's duty to hold elected officials accountable. - Calann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10To be prosecuted you have to have committed a crime, to be persecuted all you have to do is piss off someone who is powerful.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10No, I think he had it right the first time...
- daleok, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14Mindless, emotionless robots.....reminiscent of Nazi Germany
- mattxb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9FTA: "he has a son who is soon to be deployed to Iraq. That could only impact a parents’ mind as they think through these issues. "
Yeah, it could actually make you think like a human being - Loonacy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Q: What do you think about what this guy is saying?
A: He's emotionally unbalanced, keep that in mind.
Q: Are you resorting to ad hominem?
A: No, I'm not. As he himself said, he's going through things that could leave someone emotionally unbalanced. - d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Interesting that Dowd is probably the one of the only (former) members of Bush's circle that actually has a family member serving.
- invinciblechunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8If I'd been a supporter of Bush, I'd be going through some personal turmoil too.
- dave1021, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Godwin's Law doesn't apply when discussing actual Nazis.
- CannedMango, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8so·ci·o·path –noun
a person, as a psychopathic personality, whose behavior is antisocial and who lacks a sense of moral responsibility or social conscience.
The definition for every person in this administration. They will do whatever it takes to meet their goals (whatever the end goal is, I'm afraid to find out) and they don't care how many blatant lies they have to tell and how much propaganda they have to spew to get there. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Tony Snow is a mass murderer's propagandist. He is worse than the enemy.
- ozzyman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8so much finger pointing with this administration....
- d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Just because he mentions Fahrenheit 9-11 doesn't discount the fact that what he says is true. Not one of these neo-cons prosecuting this war has ANY skin in the game.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8@ mitchellk
I logged-in just to digg you down. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This shameless attempt to throw Matthew Dodd under a bus shows how desperate and callous 'they' really are, if this is how they treat members of their inner circle who come to have different opinions.
It is with announcements like these that even the most in-it-up-to-your-eyeballs fan of the Bush-Cheney agenda must begin to realize that there is no promise or future in being a supporter, there is nothing in it but the guarantee of being used until you are consumed and then discarded, after being publicly denounced. - dave1021, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6This is what happens when you corner a wounded animal.
- d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Your argument is discounted by the fact that he had documented misgivings about Bush and the war well before his "personal problems". Also, he his sentiments about the war are more valid, IMO, than the rest of the Bush circle, because, unlike the rest of the Bush circle, Dowd actually has some skin in the game.
- CogitatorX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Why is anyone surprised at this? The Neo-Cons are just like any other far-right outfit "you're either with us or against us".
- ClosedCaption, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I can hear it now, the standard Bush boot licking sciophantic reply:
"He hates Bush"
Then apply that to the media, King Abdulla, Colin Powell, Bobb Barr, South America, the UN, the CIA, WMD's, pretzels, Coherent Sentences, the Segway that he fell off of.
Paranoid? - d00ley, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Godwin's law also does not imply that the Nazi's are not a legitimate analogy.
- itsameericle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4What gets me, is when he talks about Dowd being influenced by his own contemplations of his son going to Iraq, as if considering the reckless endangerment and personal sacrifice of war is worthwhile ("that could only impact a parent's mind as they think through these issues" and earlier "we obviously disagree with him about the president being too insular or bringing the troops home).
I would counter that i think its about time we had some pensive and caring adults who actually considered the negative impact of war instead of the glory of the military-industrial complex.
Since when is bringing war to people's homes a way to win their "hearts and minds,"? - mrMt, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6In other words, having a beloved one that goes to the war makes it's relatives more aware of the meaning of the word 'war'
In my dream world, politicians and journalist's relatives fight the wars in the front line, in reality, as seen in fahrenheit 9-11, that rarely happens. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Tony Snow is a paid enemy combatant bought and paid for by the lead Terrorists.
Good riddance, I hope hes gone for good. - farksucksmasack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3if scrweing over the american people for no other reason than revenge (that man tried to kill my daddy) and cash (haliburton, big oil) is wrong, bush doesn't want to be right.
- an0nymous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Dowd's assessment of the situation were never substantially replied to or even acknowledged in an "reasonable people may disagree with us.." kind of way.
Instead they went straight to "he's crazy!".
Niiice. - pennvneff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Spin, spin away.
- Homerr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Accountability - I demand it from you and your administration, Mr. Bush.
- invinciblechunk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Godwin also doesn't apply if you specifically mention it.
- davesbrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2How ironic, they're treating him a lot like they treat liberals.
- mdc777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would ALSO be in ‘personal turmoil’ if I realized that I not only backed this inept ***** for President, but I actually HELPED him gain power!?!?!?!? Yeah…’personal turmoil’ would be the least proper term for that. How about DUMB ASS NUMB-*****? It takes balls to admit you were wrong on such a catastrophic scale…something Bush obviously doesn’t have.
- Swift2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Lucky his wife isn't in the CIA, or else they'd out him to make him look like his wife got him is job -- the pussy -- even though it would mean tossing an entire intelligence network to the wolves.
- againsttyranny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Just another smear campaign, to discredit a real patriot!
- divatri, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Dugg that. I've never paid so much attention to this before. http://dogsbridge.blogspot.com
- an0nymous, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Hate to say this, but I would as soon see him dead as look at him again.
- Dustin00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1But everybody on Bush's staff is currently experiencing "personal turmoil", so how is this different for Dowd?
- GabrielS, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I don't think Bartlett should have raised that issue, but Dowd did lose a daughter, one of twins, and his eldest son was about to deploy to Iraq. Don't you think it is possible that Dowd is very concerned about losing a son after recently losing a daughter?
I've never lost children, but I imagine that if I had lost one that I would compromise everything in my life in order to protect the rest of my children. -
