- blakmira, on 04/26/2008, -17/+178With only 6.5% reported for Ron Paul in that county from the "voting machines" just 2 months ago, this turnout and massive support is absolutely amazing. Either Ron Paul has tripled in popularity in just a few weeks or the Diebold machines "accidentally" forgot to count quite a few votes...
- john2kdiggs, on 04/26/2008, -13/+130It seems like the Ron Paul supporters really overwhelmed McCain's people at a number of recent local conventions. Dr. Paul's overall support appears to be growing as well, despite the party attempting to rally behind McCain.
- Wundur, on 04/26/2008, -31/+124Get rid of E-Voting machines and Ron Paul just might be President!
- Jimmyb207, on 04/26/2008, -8/+71This correlates with what the internet was telling us Vs. the corporate media months ago. There is what is REALLY happening and then there's TV. Most Ron Paul supporters that I know of, myself included, are still voting for Ron come election day. Lets face it, McCain is a scary choice.
http://bloggernista.files.wordpress.com/2007/04/bu ... - veeew, on 04/26/2008, -8/+65McCain...now that's a funny joke. But seriously, he will never win if we have anything to say about it. I hope that the entire facade of his supposed popularity and having the nomination "locked" falls to shambles like it should so people will see the media scoundrels who have been censoring our candidate for the scum they really are. Keep up the good work!
- diggstown, on 04/26/2008, -9/+61After months of his post absence on Digg, a single Ron Paul article is actually somewhat refreshing. Dugg.
Amazing what can happen when the message isn't delivered by armies of Ronbots. - NeoConned08, on 04/26/2008, -8/+57It doesn't matter. They will just wind up stripping Ron Paul Delegates of their legally earned delegate status as they've done in Missouri and Texas already and hand em over to McCain. Free society my @ss.
- Tess101, on 04/26/2008, -21/+69Our Revolution has only begun. The more the American people are exposed to the truth, the more they will turn to Ron Paul for Representation. The news quacks will be running to hide when Americans finally get the truth from other outside sources soon.
- Jincstress, on 04/26/2008, -12/+48you started a digg profile for the sole purpose of telling Ron Paul supporters that they are wasting their time? If its a waste of time- dosnt it stand to reason that you are wasting your time running all over the web telling people that they are wasting their time? Unless maybe youre scared that maybe theres something to all this nonesense about "freedom".
- Look4Truth, on 04/26/2008, -20/+52In a sane world, Paul would win the presidency. Instead, we've got masses of brain dead zombies pushing whatever buttons the idiot box tells them to.
- inactive, on 04/26/2008, -4/+35what's this a ron paul article on digg?! i've missed these...
- valdet, on 04/26/2008, -0/+30McCain means even more recession and new wars for oil and corporate establishments
- DeviantDragon, on 04/26/2008, -5/+34Yeah what with all the Obamabots this is certainly a change of pace.
- NSResponder, on 04/26/2008, -1/+2990% of success is showing up. Looks like RP's supporters showed up, and McCain's couldn't be bothered.
-jcr - Mollives, on 04/26/2008, -6/+34The fight is only over when you think it is.
"“The Ron Paul people were organized and had done their homework,” said veteran party activist Kathy McDonald." - nsanidy, on 04/26/2008, -11/+37Deja vu setting in..
..hate for DieBold rising
..Ron Paul Ron Paul Ron Paul - JDenigma, on 04/26/2008, -10/+36Please go the ***** away you troll
- etherreal, on 04/26/2008, -2/+26How do you figure? He is going to be on the Idaho ballot on May 15, where I will happily place my vote.
- buckman82, on 04/26/2008, -11/+35I dont usually subscribe to wild assumptions, but i must say it truely looks like they are cheating us with these machines. america should count our ballets by hand on tv so we all know its real
- RedPhalanx, on 04/26/2008, -1/+22the roughly 130k poeple that voted for Ron Paul in Pennsylvania care.
- digitronix, on 04/26/2008, -19/+40BUY HIS NEW BOOK!!!! Let's get "Revolution - A Manifesto" to the top of the bestsellers' lists!!!
- vault, on 04/26/2008, -16/+36Because it's the 'e-voting machines,' and not his positions that differ dramatically from what the average American wants, that are the reason he's not the president.
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -6/+26Every time I see your icon I think there is a bug on my screen and I want to smash it.
- whataboutdave, on 04/26/2008, -3/+23It's no longer about the presidential run. It's about the message of liberty and bringing the GOP back to its libertarian roots.
- GhostyBoy, on 04/26/2008, -5/+24He's pro-peace and so am I. That's the main reason I like him.
Democrat? Republican? Libertarian? Socialist? I don't care.
Let's just stop killing people. - defska42, on 04/26/2008, -0/+18In the words of John Stewart: "Activists are the ones who care the most."
Here's to looking forward to the day that the American election process isn't run by MSM and Washington-as-usual influencing/lying to/fear mongering the uneducated voters of this country.
I'm no RP supporter, because I don't agree with a lot of his views on the issues, but that is another argument for another day. What is important here is that RP is a candidate who speaks the truth, and has the best interest of the country as his #1 goal. Our candidates should be RP and Kucinich and we should be having those conversations about the issues. We are so caught up in debating what a candidate's pastor said a decade ago, we are ridiculing a candidate for lying about sniper fire, we are staring at the huge number that is the age of another candidate, and tons of voters in this country (more than enough to decide the entire election) are voting based on these discussions alone. These things do not matter, and we need more great politicians such as RP (regardless of what side of the aisle they come from) so that we can bring the discussion back to the real issues. - brad3378, on 04/26/2008, -7/+25So why aren't McCain's supporters as passionate as Paul's supporters? Based on their numbers, you'd think they would care enough to show up to voice their opinions. Why do McCain supporters seem so apathetic?
- inactive, on 04/26/2008, -7/+24I agree that Ron Paul had so much support, i know personally me, and my friends did all we could (signs , voting, etc) such a huge turn out, but the #'s say otherwise. I don't get it
- spyd3rweb, on 04/26/2008, -2/+19Anything to get Hillary and Obama off the front page, thank god.
- trotskyist, on 04/26/2008, -11/+28Yeah, because Ron Paul absolutely killed in all of the Primaries that didn't use Diebold machines.
Oh, wait. - bjornski, on 04/26/2008, -3/+19McCain's public speaking engagements are turning a lot of people off. He's lucky he got the nomination before he said a lot of what he's been saying lately. The man and his flip-flopping make Kerry sound like a decisive person.
I think McCain's "senior moments" are catching up to him. - inactive, on 04/26/2008, -4/+20i hope he becomes president
- str1fe, on 04/26/2008, -2/+18You can write his name in and it will get counted.
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -6/+22I like the idea but I don't trust the "TV" part. I think everyone who wants peace, freedom, honest constitutional government and sound money and economy needs to get involved in politics at a local level and watch like hawks the Hand Counting Process.
- cien750hp, on 04/26/2008, -4/+19why has no one picked up on the most disturbing thing in this article?
you have a media organization stating: "where it was demonstrated that democracy is too important to be left to party activists."
1. America is a republic, not a democracy
2. They here state that a popular vote is necessary, that the delegate system is unfair. delegates are vital now, they give the dedicated supporters a bigger voice, trying to balance out the hords of sheep that vote for mccain. The founders established the government this way for a reason.. - Diderotten, on 04/26/2008, -5/+20The voting was done at the high school. The voting population weren't high school students.
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -17/+32The average American hates politics.... The average American wants honest government, secure borders, sound money, peace, liberty, a strong economy. What they get are lies, propaganda and soon a fascist playground for the NWO. If The race for President wasn't such a Media-driven Popularity contest, The Issues alone would guarantee Ron Paul a victory. sadly, the average American is clueless as to whats at stake, and what Ron Paul stands for. They do know their TV sez he is a kook and he has kind of a whiny voice.
- urgeigh, on 04/26/2008, -8/+23Do you really think the people who own the Federal Reserve, who have their fingers buried in everything from the green grass to the moon are going to let someone threaten their stranglehold on our money? Ron Paul has been slandered, spit on, trampled over, and called everythign from nut-job to lunatic to extremist. When in reality, he's the first politician in my lifetime that actually stands for all of the things that the people who founded this country (and died for) believed in. Just the fact that the masses have been sold this ignorant image of what a politician should be is almost enough to ruin an honest and moral man like Ron Paul. If you look at their records on paper, side-to-side, the only person who stands a chance against Ron Paul as far as qualifications are concerned, sort of ironically, is John McCain. I hate the ***** but my point is, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton (especially HER) are in no way shape or form even remotely as qualified for the position of President as Ron Paul. The downside, is that Ron Paul's ideas and beliefs are TOO TRUE to what "they" worked so hard to stamp out for the first 150 years of our nation's existence. Even if Ron Paul never becomes President, the rest of us, as like minded individuals with a shared sense of duty to our country need to stand firm, and not let the message of liberty die away. As Ron Paul has said many times, this so called "Revolution" is not about him, but the people and affecting real change. Those who remain willfully ignorant, I hope can one day reap the benefits of active and educated individuals who support Liberty & Ron Paul's message, whether or not they insult us or understand the position this country is really in today. See what happens when you give someone an honest candidate who tells it like it is? He's shot down as "crazy" becuase people remain willfully ignorant and are content to continue to pay their mortgage as long as American Idol doesn't get cancelled and they can go read about their favorite celebs on the interwebs whenever they feel the urge.
- Cryptocracy, on 08/17/2008, -13/+27they hate Paul because he tells the truth, a revolutionary act in a time of universal deceit...
- 4d669, on 04/26/2008, -4/+18The Ron Paul campaign is an example of how 'change' and 'hope' can be actions instead of empty words and how the people can 'really come together for America' instead of just being together in agreeing with the Obama MSM bias.
- Seann7656, on 04/26/2008, -1/+15Oh hey, thats my city! :-D
Wish I could say I had anything to do with this. I am a huge Ron Paul supporter.
This makes me proud of my city. I hate everything else about it otherwise.. ;-) - Asheis, on 04/26/2008, -1/+15Not all that suprising considering the proximity of clark county to portland, or. If there is one thing I do know, is that portland/vancouver are big Ron Paul fanatics. I started seeing Ron Paul signs up way before digg and the popular media caught up with him.
- kemp34, on 04/26/2008, -8/+21Oh no, Ron Paul supporters actually going through the diligence of the system, ghast!
- Diderotten, on 04/26/2008, -0/+13It would be expensive, but it should be done and shown on public access for each state when doing the primaries. C-span should cover all national elections. That would be pretty cool.
- inactive, on 04/26/2008, -3/+16RON PAUL!!!!!!!!
- crownedgriffin, on 04/26/2008, -0/+12I still occasionally see a guy holding a huge Ron Paul sign and a 13-star American flag during rush hour on I-5.
- brad3378, on 04/26/2008, -3/+15To be fair, there were a significant number of Huckabee supporters also voting against McCain.
Would you dare say that the Huckabee supporters were also employing guerrilla tactics against McCain? - Jenadae, on 04/26/2008, -3/+15I miss you Ron Paul please come back :*
- brad3378, on 04/26/2008, -2/+14
Good point.
But then let's ask ourselves: Why is it ok on the Democratic side to have superdelegates able to choose against the popular vote in the event that voters pick an unelectable candidate?
Maybe we should just eliminate the whole concept of having delegates?
Maybe political parties should base their nominations on a weighted system of popular votes instead?
Who do you think has a better system? The Republicans or the Democrats? - gothelium, on 04/26/2008, -1/+13Unfortunately, sometimes they don't even NEED to resort to those measures to keep Paul delegates from going further. Some of us just plain can't afford it, and that says something significant. He seems to best represent the working class most affected by the current economic crisis, and yet the party does well enough to keep those people from having a loud enough voice because we can't afford $1500 a ticket to get into the national convention as delegates. It's quite true that money = power.
