- gkisystems, on 10/20/2008, -0/+3You're exactly correct. The reason the government cannot cite the law is because there isn't one. Instead, they used threats and intimidation to extort money from us...just like the mob would do in the era of prohibition. People pay anyway because they're afraid of the consequences & they incorrectly assume that the income tax goes to pay for our required government services like military, roads, and schools - when in fact those expenses are already covered by other taxes.
