Wean Israel off U.S. welfare (wnd commentary) by Dave Hanson
worldnetdaily.com — U.S. foreign aid to Israel is misguided, both from a constitutional and biblical perspective. The writer makes an excellent case that our meddling in Israel has done much more harm than good (not to mention the billions spent to arm Israel's enemies), yet many Christians support this because of a flawed view of prophecy about the nation of Israel

- wareagle83, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3It's time for the US to return to the foreign policy of the founders. Although I want godly leaders, I DON'T want them using their misinterpretation of the Bible to determine our national policy toward Israel.
- sullly, on 07/26/2008, -0/+3Most "conservatives" aren't conservatives at all, and they'd use other people's money (steal) for their pet causes just as the "liberals" use it for theirs. How again is stealing money from US citizens and giving it to any foreign country the right thing to do? What does it matter if it's the socialist government of Israel? Nothing is stopping individuals from getting together and raising money themselves.
- GHook93, on 07/27/2008, -5/+0The author is full of BullS#%T! The welfare as the ignorant author is stating is primarily for defense. His numbers are highly in accurate also. He states 77%, but in the package 90% of its has to be used for defense. Israel uses the money to subsidize its military to defend against the genocidal Arab enemies. His comparison of Israel to welfare receipts is insulting. Welfare receipts use welfare to mainly subsidize their desire not to work. Israel has NEVER shown that. Israel has a functioning capitalistic and democratic society. It has done more in 60 years than ANY other country has done in the face of so much adversity. It is the quickest to go from birth to a westernized country ever. Look at its technological, pharmaceutical, science, education, solar power, agricultural, finance and banking and weapon systems systems, they are extremely advance. When Israel has peace, it will be able to be weaned off of the US defense funds overnight. The money we give Israel can be compared to the money the Federal government gives a cities police fund.
- Silvbird, on 07/27/2008, -0/+3No bud, I tink it is you that is full of BS. According to my friend here, in recent years Palestinians in Gaza have been killed at a ratio of more than 300 to 1 - now that's 'genocidal,' I'd say.
