- SidSmoKer, on 10/11/2007, -19/+84HAHAHA, i hate that bastard... about time.
- Dysarthria, on 10/11/2007, -12/+40Here's a thought...his show just isn't that good?
Nah, can't be that simple. - largobargo, on 10/11/2007, -9/+34The lesbian gangs of DC have won..
When you get assaulted and raped by a gang of lesbians with strap-ons, you have no one to blame but yourself. - goodness0001, on 10/11/2007, -9/+30You people rejoice because 1 station cancelled? What happened to air america?
- sonofdy1, on 10/11/2007, -10/+29This is how the free market works. Im not suprised there is no market for his views in DC.
- littlebylittle, on 10/11/2007, -7/+25Let's hope this is the start of a trend. How anyone can take this whack-job seriously is beyond me.
- domino42, on 10/11/2007, -0/+16he was on from 1-3pm weekdays. Big surprise he was dropped. AM 630 WMAL in the dc area carries Limbaugh from noon till 3pm Which one would conservatives listen too... hrmmm I wonder....
The free market did work here, Limbaugh clearly has the better show. - TripinVA, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16Everyone here is missing the point, and I think WaPo did too (probably on purpose, since it competed with their own Washington Post Radio, WTWP 1500/107.7).
WJFK is a "hot talk" station, targetting the young male demographic. They have or had Don and Mike in the afternoon (not political), Opie and Anthony in the morning (not political), and other non-political shows. Bill O'Reilly never fit in WJFK's lineup in the first place. That it's being canceled is not a reflection of anything but the fact that Bill O'Reilly did not belong on WJFK.
That said, I do not like Bill O'Reilly and am glad to know he's off WJFK. But let's be realistic here. - holzp, on 10/11/2007, -5/+18It is horrible. Just a three hour advertisement for his other products. He has been dropped from his prime slot in Boston too.
- brianbennett, on 10/11/2007, -0/+10I guess he'll just have to scrape by with the other 390 stations he is broadcast on. Now he's only in 99 of the top 100 markets.

- lordigor, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12there's still plenty of conservative talk radio in dc. limbaugh, hannity, levin, even druge are on here.
- irvman21, on 10/11/2007, -6/+15"perhaps the intelligence quotient of DC is a bit too high...."
Hysterical...
More likely it has to do with the fact that DC has the 13th highest crime rate in the country, has a poverty rate over 20% (highest in country), an unemployment rate over 10% (highest in country), and is comprised of over 70% minorities. Sounds like the core base of the Democratic party to me. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -6/+14A society of openness, tolerance and free speech has no place for propagandists that pose as journalists.
- Neoforce, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8I didn't say anything about O'Reilly for or against him so I think your 'O'Really dick sucker' claim is a little unfounded if not completely immature. But its nice to see a factual statement get dugg down, but one calling someone a dick sucker and making assinine assumptions gets dugg up. Nice culture you have here kids.
- ParatusRH, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8Why is anyone surprised? D.C went over 90% for both Gore and Kerry. Even Dukakis took a majority of the Presidential vote there.
- kittynipples, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8keep telling yourself that
- adoggz, on 10/11/2007, -4/+12it's more like folks in DC don't give a ***** cause they can't vote.
- farsight010, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7DC is the most Democratic city in the nation, going about 90% for the Democratic candidate in the last couple of presidential elections. So it's not surprising, cause there just aren't a lot of conservative listeners.
- goodness0001, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Or it was because nobody listened to air america.
- futureisours, on 10/11/2007, -3/+9this is very stupid. conservative radio dominates the air waves. it's helped to rally support to defeat the immigration bill. why do you think piloski, et al are so scared of it and want to introduce the 'fairness' doctrine which will never pass? woo hoo one channel removed o'reilly. what about all the other markets in which o'reilly, savage, hannity are in the top 10? where is air america and liberal channels? i didn't think so!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Welcome to Digg, where the primary demographic is a bunch of pimple-pocked, angst-ridden, wanna-be anarchist bubble gum chewers.
- i6koi, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8heh most ironic comment of the day
- Neoforce, on 10/11/2007, -8/+13Wow! 1 out of 400 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_O'Reilly_(commentator)) stations dropped him!
- floorman56, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Once again a shining example of the openest and free thinking of today's lib's
- MattS, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Like we need a radio program devoted to politics here in DC. To be fair, the article is a little biased. "...conservative talk-radio hosts have struggled for years to find a wide audience on the local dial..." Conservative talk radio has not faired well either here in DC. Political radio in DC fails in general. A large portion of our population lives politics, eats politics, breathes politics. Why should we get in our cars a listen to people far away tell us incorrect things about meetings we participated in?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+8DC, intelligent. What are you kidding.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5At least MORE people are listening to CONSERVATIVE talk radio than liberal talk radio. The worst conservative show has better ratings than the best liberal show. You liberals are all for free speech, as long as it is what YOU believe. Have a opposite opinion, and you are for putting duct tape over their mouths. Why do you think liberals in DC want to bring back the so called "fairness doctrine"?
- thcobbs, on 10/11/2007, -1/+6Shawn.... I believe in a free market....
And if he's not doing well, I'd ditch his ass too. It's stupid to keep a program on that costs you money. Simple as that. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7ever notice how liberals are quick with the name calling when they don't have a credible point to make?
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -5/+10Yes, of course, it's not surprising at all. The majority of DC is black, "victim-crats".
- screpea, on 10/11/2007, -6/+10Conservative Talk outnumbers liberal talk 10 to 1. One canceled show, and you guys go bonkers. Face it, nobody, NOBODY wants to listen to the Michel Moore types, Al Frankin, Alec Baldwin, ET AL. Liberal Washington DC as with the left coast, islands of politics, not representative of mainland America. Don't get to excited, your still losing your base to mainstream thought.
- perrym, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7a radio station changes their lineup, so?
oh yeah we hate that [insert childish comments here] Bill O'Reilly - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7Hey, no big deal. If the market shows that he does not do well, I as a business owner would drop him also. It is a business decision.
Same if I had a liberal talk show in a predominately conservative market. If it did not do well, I would drop it.
I don't know why he wants to do a radio show anyway. He has the NUMBER 1 show on cable television. Hell, the worst Fox news show has a better rating that ANY of the liberal shows on cable. - haydesigner, on 10/11/2007, -5/+9Whoop, whadda riot!
(Man, even if you are a GOP'r, you gotta realize how absolutely wrong your comment is...
DC... intelligence... HA!) - Barbarino, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5It's amazing a non story such as this makes the front page then you have the digg idiots who cheer like they just won the lottery. The man has huge ratings on tv and on the radio, 1 station in DC is not news, it's called the manipulation of the digg front page.
- stone433, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4DC residents have no voting representatives in the house or the senate. so the body's that make the taxes they have no representation.
- dracheflieger, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6Who gives a ***** what those in DC think...they should be worrying about what WE think!
- lordmike, on 10/11/2007, -4/+9Centrist???? ROFL!!!!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4you better tighten your tin-foil hat. It isn't on tight enough to keep the evil clear channel rays out.
Geez, a FAILED program such as "scare America" causes the nutjobs on the left to come out of the woodwork again. - bufmike, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6you sound like a hate-mongering attention whore....
- appleann1, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3That's right, let's get him thrown off the air, hold a book burning, then keep him, and anyone else we don't agree with, off the air forever.
The party of diversity is the most intolerant, arrogant, self righteous, insufferable twerps ever.
But don't tell them that or you are a racist, bigot, etc, etc.... - hypes, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4I'd love to know why this is actually being covered like it's a real news story...WJFK's signal doesn't even REACH Washington DC. Plus, the station is hot talk...Don and Mike, Opie and Anthony, The Junkies, Lovelines....Bill _NEVER_ had a chance to fit into the lineup, and his ratings proved it. I don't think Jim "I...love...myself...as...much...as...dead...air" Rome is gonna do any better, and I'm pretty sure Oscar and Chad will fail.
Then again, what do I know...I'm a software engineer from Iowa and I listen to a Washington DC talk station for 4 hours every weekday...other than that its all XM, all the time.
-h - eean, on 10/11/2007, -3/+6They are also all solid Democrat voters.
- appleann1, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Don't bother, they think MSNBC and PBS are moderate, and Olby and Jon Stewart are real newscasters.
Delusional. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5gee, a liberal who resorts to name calling......who'd thunk it?
- burchie2, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4this is a surprise? D.C. is the most liberal city in the U.S.
- Satorikun, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Apparently Zosh- you don't listen to him or watch him because if you did then you'd know what the hell you're talking about. I love it how people spew so much hatred for O'Reilly calling him a hate-monger attention whore...geesh...hypocrites galore!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4It is, isn't it!
If the people rely upon propagandist for their news they get misinformation, false information and disinformation. Americans can't make good decisions if their information is wrong. Journalists have a responsibility to report accurate, non-biased information.
Many studies have reported the large percentage of misunderstandings of those who watch Fox News (such as Iraq still have weapons of mass destruction) versus those who watch PBS, use the Web for their news or even MSNBC. - DarkShroud, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3When has he ever cut someone's mic? Can you name one person? And he has only said shut-up twice, and they deserved it. I see/hear Libs say far worse too people. But I guess that's ok.
