- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+19Bread and Circuses. The Romans knew the trick to keep people complacent centuries ago...and it works...for a while.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -14/+28What the *****? Does anyone seriously think the media is there to inform the people? Um, no, the people don't give a *****. They want to be entertained. And the only reason the media exists is to make money. They're not a ***** charity, people. Pull you heads out of your asses and quit acting like retards. There's no conspiracy, they're just trying to make a buck.
- Elwood19k20, on 10/10/2007, -7/+20And I assume that you think the garbage from the MSM is any better? Why don't you keep your comments off of Digg please sir.

- lukifer, on 10/10/2007, -0/+10Former CIA agent Robert Steele said it best: War is a racket.
- wheelscribe, on 10/10/2007, -2/+12No, I don't think that any informed person thinks that the wide majority of mass media exists for any other reason than to line the pocket of shareholders. I for one, wish they'd give up the pretense of anything else and be done with it.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+13oh heavens...against war. How terrible.
- forgiste, on 10/10/2007, -5/+13they!? First of all Rupert Murdoch isn't against the war, and he owns pretty much all of OLD media.
- Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+8Historically it only requires bread. Most people are happy if they have enough to eat. Most revolutions only happen when the people are truly being screwed like starving to death etc.
- lukifer, on 10/10/2007, -3/+11Gosh, why would anybody ever dislike war?
- Meccabilly, on 10/10/2007, -2/+9Dug down for ignorance.
- Meccabilly, on 10/10/2007, -6/+13Please, again, tell us why you object to thier sites.. This comment could apply to anything - if you are against it you should give reasons.
- siszam, on 10/10/2007, -5/+11Anti American conservatives are killing our soldiers and destroying the economy so a few rich, old men can profit. The "liberals" have more conservative values on caring for people, preserving life and controlling spending than the Neo Cons have. Fox and CNN promote was constantly. You must live in some kind of bubble where things are true if you say so. Yeesh!
- Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5I agree. And sometimes the BBC and PBS are boring but a lot of the time there shows are really in depth and fascinating atleast to me.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -10/+15do you have a bot that keeps pushing the same lame comment?
- weekapaug81, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I saw this film at a screening in Providence RI, it's good stuff. Hey macweirdo, maybe it wouldn't be such a problem and seem like a "conspiracy" if the "trying to make a buck" media weren't constantly assuring us they are Informing u, not Entertaining us. Never heard a slogan like "News you can trust" ?? It is *****, and the reason that people still think the media is there to inform people is because the media is legally protected to do that and the politicians will claim that's what is occuring.. when it's convenient. Pull your head out of your ass and quit acting like a retard.
- jmpeagle, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5empire is not a form of government. You can be both a democracy and an empire or a republic and an empire.
- wheelscribe, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5Indeed. And if they want to make a profit then they should go on with the rest of the empty programming that's already on tv and leave news to the PBS and BBCs of the world.
- actics, on 10/10/2007, -2/+6Hell, if they can sell parents on cutting their newborn son's penis (circumcision), they can sell -anything-.
The answer to bad information, though, is better information. http://digg.com/health/Top_10_Circumcision_Myths - Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4They are run by cable companies. Cable companies need to make profit. This is why we have entertianing news. If they ran stories that were boring they wouldnt make cash then they would just be the BBC or PBS. Either way they do not care about truth just about how many customers they can get to watch their shows.
- TaranWalker, on 10/10/2007, -1/+5WATCH OUT FOR THAT BOTE! HERE IT COMES!
- 4degrees, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4who said that ALL media was not liberal? I surely didn't, You and/or that skyscape said that ALL media was liberal. In order to prove that statement false all one needs to do is come up with just one example. One example proves that not ALL media is liberal.
So, yes you do lose ALL media is NOT liberal. - Meccabilly, on 10/10/2007, -5/+9You dont actually inform us as to what it is you object to on the site. Please give us reasons as to why it is '*****'.
- sockpuppets, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4*cough*
http://www.torrentz.com/101dd8372370cf0d3753f18cd4 ... - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4 I as well...NBC,ABC,CBS and Fox just air crap.
- Identity4, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I would gladly accept boring old PBS in exchange for endless channels of entertaining but otherwise useless crap.
- pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4actually, it's deregulation that has led to the lack of competition. it has allowed a small handful of corporations to own virtually all the media outlets.
- lazerus9, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4Put in either quotes or cuff's
- dattaway, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3Its regulated in the sense where we just can't set up a 1 watt transmitter and become our own station. A few legal cases have destroyed a few people in my city trying. They call it pirate radio and treat the operator like they have raped and pillaged the industry. That is why I do not feel the industry deregulated. Its all perception.
- Fordi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3It is a shame that so many people in America reject potentially important information without first reviewing it. Such behavior is called "Ignorance".
- lazerus9, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6If you believe that it's all about the money your wrong. For example, R rated movies seldom make as much as G rated movies do. Why then does Hollywood make so many R rated? The agenda is about creating fear! Why? Control! Turn on the nightly news and every story they show is there to scare the heck out of you. If you can keep the masses frightened and disoriented they are easier to control. Y'Tube Edward Bernays and you will learn about propaganda.
- squidy, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3I've seen this movie at the Festival des films du monde de Montréal, very very interesting subject!
- Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5I agree. If more people tuned in to watch information about the economy or the war then the media would provide more information. Unfortunatly it is cheap are they draw in bigger crowds if they just do stories about celebrities and other bull *****. They are just their to make some profits.
- 4degrees, on 10/10/2007, -2/+5you are right, fox news is quite liberal. And come to think of it, Bill O'Reilly is quite liberal too... Man, you are on to something here.
/sarcasm - Xill, on 10/10/2007, -0/+3America has been hi-jacked and people are just starting to wake up. Its time to save the country and stop those useless wars for the Military Industrial Complex and the Rich elites who owns all the resources.
- justinx0r, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6We're not a ***** democracy, we're a republic.
Sorry, but that really annoys me. - pintomp3, on 10/10/2007, -3/+6the news used to be news, the networks ran their news outlets at a loss as a public service. but deregulation (thanks reagan) and cable news networks (thanks turner and murdoch) have turned it into infotainment and propoganda.
- Forklore, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2You weren't paying attention go back and watch it again...
- flycatcher, on 10/10/2007, -3/+5You mean Empire, not republic.
- Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Except for the fact that a lot of R movies are intentionally tuned down so they get a rated pg 13 rating. IE fuking up a movie like die hard. Seriously just say the word ***** and keep it R rated.
- 4degrees, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Wait, you "loose"
Maybe instead of making pedantic flawed arguments you should study a dictionary. - WolverineBlue, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2It's really not so much that the government and media is outright lying to us as that they're passing off opinions, guesses, and predictions as facts, certainties, and inevitabilities. If you really wanted to you could find raw data and accurate journalism, but it won't be as simple and appealing as "option X is good; Y is evil." Trouble is, even if people know this information exists, they're so lazy that they don't mind letting government/media think for them.
- lewhich, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3WMD's take the cake
- Fordi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Media may be liberal or conservative, but when it comes to war - especially in its beginnings - that never seems to matter. Even CNN and MSNBC - with the exception of one person - simply parroted official reports and commentary on the reasons for the Iraq invasion in its infancy and after the first attacks.
Watch the video. You may be surprised at what you see. - Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I agree that is wrong. But I think the movie studies just want profit they do not care whether it is violent or not. What pisses me off about movie ratings is if you show one tittie it is automatically rated R but you can blow ship up constantly and get a pg 13 movie.
- Hetman, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Im saying that through out western history circumcisions have been happening. Since the time of the bible. It was cleaner back in the day before modern sanitation. I personally do not care I am uncircumcised I am just saying there is a long history of Circumsicion in western society and it is going to keep happening for those reasons.
- Nerys, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2WE ARE NOT A GOD DAMNED DEMOCRACY
Curse to our REPUBLIC. - l00pee, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Tao Te Ching:
Not exalting the gifted prevents quarreling.
Not collecting treasures prevents stealing.
Not seeing desireable things prevents confusion of the heart.
The wise therefore rule by emptying hearts and stuffing bellies, by weakening ambitions and strengthening bones.
If men lack knowledge and desire, then clever people will not try to interfere.
If nothing is done, then all will be well.

It's all in the belly. Feed the people, equalize them all and the government can do whatever it wants. -
