- ajmontana, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24food for thought.....A legal gun killed , an illegal gun may have saved lives......go figure.......
- akira185, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16You mean like the gun control people already trying to use this tragedy?
- demicritter, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18A liberal would rather place every citizen at an equal disadvantage when faced with a mortal threat. The twisted, sick mind of a liberal doesn't allow any person an advantage over another. Simply look at their positions regarding wealth, health and opportunity. They want to equalize all outcomes. Interestingly, in each and every case where they apply their principles it generates the EXACT OPPOSITE of its stated intent.
Let Mr. Hinkler explain how he made the students safer, or could make anybody safer, by removing any means for them to defend themselves?
I anybody was placed in a situation where they were confronted by a crazed madman intent upon killing them, their family or innocent people who wouldn't if the means were available to them wouldn't intercede? Only a spineless coward wouldn't fight back against such a violence and instead try to reason with them. My life is worth more to me than an arbitrary value assigned by some putz' bureaucrat. - manchu2, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Are you referring to the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence?
- jimpenny, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Michelle Malkin is right. Want proof? Call for an ambulance, a pizza, and a policeman. See who arrives last. It IS time to fight back.
- x7terminator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13You go girl! Seems the male segment of the population is continuing its course of intellectual and emotional castration; the defense of others or even self-defense seems no longer an automatic response as males are continually being "tamed" by this culture. The most hilarious, but certainly anticipated, response to the Va. Tech shooting is college administrators making the outlandish claim that their universities are safe as they have taken abundant precautions to ensure students safety. We got a call yesterday from the President of a large university yesterday stating that we can feel at ease sending our son there as they have a plan in place. The problem is I can think of a million different scenarios that catches everyone off guard and results in as much or more mayhem than the Va. Tech shooting. In the old days, a man's fist (whether used or just exposed) could settle a bully's attacks on innocent people. Today fists are worthless against the bully's power (bombs, rifles, handguns, hand grenades, you name it). But if we are relying on a police force to safeguard against this or other kinds of violence the only possible solution would be if we were each assigned a personal armed bodyguard or police officer. However, just as a reminder, the police are not responsible for our personal safety. If you don't believe that, try suing the police for not preventing a crime occurring to your person on on your property. I don't think you will get very far. No, personal responsibility (WE THE PEOPLE) is the obvious answer and the only deterrent from this kind of "bullying" (since I'm not happy, everybody's going to pay!), is to be responsible for yourself and others. And the tools needed to do this are not more police and bigger bureaucracies, but a "fist" in the possession of able-minded men (I'll include the women the same opportunity here) powerful enough to stop someone like this in their tracks.
- demicritter, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13You mean people defending themselves?
- jebco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I would bet that if 1/3 of the students had been packing, the death count would have been zero because the shootings
wouldn't have taken place! - xJSYNERGYx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11I'm so sick of these liberals trying to decide for me how I should or shouldn't defend myself based on their warped and twisted principles of appeasment and coddling to the most demented elements of our society. These are the same people that would be rushing to the front of the line if someone they knew or themselves were involved and demanded that someone should have protected them in advance and killed that sicko, right after they marched in the "protect your self through love and negotiation" parade. I also heard that South Korea was worried about some backlash from this country because El Demento was from there. I say to them, don't. The Democrats still have not gotten mad at all of these "freedom fighters" killing thousands of people. Heck, this guy only killed 32 people. That's nothing to a Democrap.

- Prysorra, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7A Michelle Malkin essay that liberals wont get hives while reading. A special day indeed.
- ljg17, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4EVERY Major piece of gun control legislation in this country has been the result of the left exploiting a tragedy so I will politely ask you to STFU.
Gun Control Act of 1968 -----JFK Assassination
1989 California roberti-roos Assault Weapons Ban----Stockton schoolyard massacre
1994 federal AW ban----The January 25, 1993, murder of two people in front of CIA headquarters with semi-automatic version of the AK-47. - Tours732, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4It is not in domain of constitutional legitimacy for the University to deny the right of students to carry firearms. In that regard, the Commonwealth of Virginia has decided to usurp their citizens' "natural right" to self defense as designated by the second amendment. Our founders described such rights as "inalienable" and "divinely endowed". They are not the state's to either grant or deny. Every American has a fundamental right to "life" and thus, the right to defend one's life. One cannot rationally expect that the police will arrive before it's time to draw chalk outlines and string up yellow crime scene tape. Nor can we find solace in the efficacy of the mental health "professionals" executing their public responsibility to exclude maniacs like Cho from our midst. The feminized, nanny state, "advocates" who cry for more gun control are the very same ones who have emptied the mental hospitals, restrained police authority to act swiftly, and administer the so-called "gun-free" zones of our public schools and universities. We would do better to trust in one another for our common defense in the sense that I intend to take my own 9mm pistol, clean it thoroughly, and go to the range for some practice. New motto: "Lock and Load!"
- manchu2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Roger that, Tours.
- cmarotta99, on 10/12/2007, -12/+8It's disgusting that people would use this tragedy to advance some political agenda.
- xJSYNERGYx, on 10/12/2007, -8/+3How many idiots are we going to see dressing up as this wacko at halloween..................
- mgpooter, on 10/12/2007, -19/+4I will quote Kathy Griffin...Malkin ...."Suck it!"
