- Maninthemiddle, on 10/11/2007, -3/+24Let's rid ourselves of the people who contribute to society via technology, engineering, et al, and replace them with more of the folks that would rather blow us up or subjugate us.
(Didn't say the 'M' word, Mr. Brown.) - Finnagain, on 10/11/2007, -3/+20There's some scary crazy going around Britain these days. You can notice, too, that Diggers who are British have an increased likelihood of having caught the crazy.
To head off mouthbreathers at the pass: no, this does not mean that all Brits are bad. No, this does not mean that Brits are fungible. Yes, this does mean that a distressingly high number of Brits have taken a very, very disturbing position whose moral implications they deliberately ignore. - GeorgeFord, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16They may say they knew it was coming, but they'll blame BushCheneyJewsFaux.
- ssheinfi, on 10/11/2007, -1/+16A wonderful piece. Too bad it won't make a different. There are too many ignorant people in the world who just don't like facts.
- anatt, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14I think there have always been lots of people who prefer their prejudices to fact, only that now they all have access to mass communication through the internet, so we know more about them.
This is why nobody will be able to say, as they do concerning the 1930s, that they had no idea it was coming. - ErisIDysnomia, on 10/11/2007, -1/+13What, exactly, did Britain learn from WW2? Can someone please provide the details? Because it appears they learnt nothing. Britain supports appeasement of fascism once again. Then it was Nazi fascism; now it's Islamic fascism.
People who fail to learn from history's mistakes are doomed to repeat them. In this case, Britain will get what it deserves. - anatt, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13Sad. A year ago I was in Worms, Germany, a city that once had a thriving and highly contributing Jewish community. The ancient synagogue destroyed by the Nazis has been restored. So were the houses of the adjacent Jewish quarter, but they are now inhabited by Muslims. The thought that crossed my mind was exactly as in Maninthemiddle's above comment.
