- robelanator, on 10/12/2007, -8/+22Finally, an honest politician! The rest of us have been snoozing through Bush's meaningless speeches for years.
- canadianguy33, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I watched the SOTU and I was fascinated by it. To me it just seemed like one big phony circle jerk. Why the hell does everyone clap after every single sentence that comes out of Dubya's mouth?
- Oculus, on 10/12/2007, -6/+9/sarcasm
He was clearly praying for the president in these most difficult times.
/sarcasmoff - Sandwiches_Time, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I'm no Bush-lover, but McCain is clearly reading along with the copy of the speech distributed to everyone walking in.
- RuffRidr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13I agree, he was just reading along. There was a brief cut to Hillary and Obama, and Obama was doing the same thing.
- Neticule, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7you guys had to ruin our fun didnt you? with your... factiness!
- sherwinn, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4HE WAS NOT NAPPING you fools, he was looking down at the sheet, just like Barack and others were.
- Crass22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I swear I saw like 10 seconds of senator ted kennedy snoozing about 20 minutes into the sotu.
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not napping, tapping, tapping at the state of the union speech script.
- quetranza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is the kind of ***** "fact" that, if spread by the right instead of the left, would inspire a whole week of "special commentaries" from the Olberdouche.
- canadianguy33, on 10/12/2007, -4/+25I watched the SOTU and I was fascinated by it. To me it just seemed like one big phony circle jerk. Why the hell does everyone clap after every single sentence that comes out of Dubya's mouth?
- gindc, on 10/12/2007, -10/+5Who is gonna vote for some 70 year old coot that can't
even stay conscious.- neave, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3He's still probably the best choice for the Republicans, but if he were elected in 2008, I'm not confident a 73 year old man would be the best choice to lead the world's most powerful nation in today's fast-paced world.
- hbweb500, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4If John McCain died in office, and by some bureaucratic accident was still determined to be capable of running the presidency, he would be 1000x better than our current president.
Thats not saying much, though, since a tree would be better. - PotatoSalad, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2"He's still probably the best choice for the Republicans"
McCain is a disgrace to the Republican party and to politics in general. In terms of spending, he's more Bush-like than Bush is. - WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1lets say bush goes vice-pres to mccain. that would mean when mccain dies Bush gets the remainder of the term, or 2 years.
- jpolacek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10He was probably just looking down, taking notes. I noticed many of the people in the audience looked similar and were clearly taking notes, probably for post-speech interviews.
- RuffRidr, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2Funny how the liberal nutjobs just chose to show McCain. Politics like this sicken me.
- thepompano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6@jpolacek
I thought the same thing. There were similar snippits of politicians like Obama looking down, or "sleeping", on the same MSNBC coverage - which goes to show conservative nutjobs like RuffRidr that it's not proof of a MSM bias - ALTHOUGH ThinkProgress is probably wrong on this one. Anyway, McCain was blinking, so buried for inaccurate - but to each his own. - hipnerd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2RuffrRdr: The "liberal nutjob" Tucker Carlson?
I think you're using yesterday's talking points. Check your fax machine for the latest update from Rove/Fox News. - frankwit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree he was looking down... I thought the whole congress was asleep when I was watching. Most of them were just reading the speech as Jr. gave it.
- snipewiz, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1I think he expressed the sentiment of the majority of Americans.
- junestag, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2OMG! this is some serious news man!!
- WorfoSAUR, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3OMFG. This title is so misleading. Ok, he closed his eyes for a whole 10 seconds? That isn't falling asleep.
Check the facts next time. - cybermort, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1so did I ! what a coinkidy
- diehard2k5, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Falling asleep for 10 seconds? Isn't that called resting your eyes?
- scabbers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0You tell em, Homer.
- junestag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0john mccain is not allowed to do that! pfaw- resting your eyes...only humans do that *****.
- trer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2He wasn't asleep. He was just thinking about how he could avoid the mistakes that Bush made when he runs in 2008.
- uberdesigner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2***** politics sucks.
- jackminardi, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5He was obviously reading along with the speech.
During the SOTU there were many shots of people looking down like this, including your beloved Obama! But of course thinkprogress wouldn't show that.
This just shows how unbiased they are.- civperc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1woops, sorry i meant to thumb up ur post, not bury. bad ball mouse here :-
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1speaking of Obama, he was face down alot, I know reading the script just like mccain, but did anyone think Hilary has a spotlight on her or something? she was right behind him.
- civperc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4BURIED as inaccurate. He was reading along in the script.
- Photoflame42, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Agreed. After watching the video it's clear that the flinging of feces has started already. I was hoping to get another year at least before wading through the mire seperating FUD from fact.
- Fragalishus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Maybe he was simply texting an intern or something. I mean he is a Republican, after all.
I kid, I kid! 5 years in a POW camp the man can take a nap whenever he damn well pleases as far as I'm concerned. But yeah, looks like he's reading, so buried. Double-buried for the story having a Tucker Carlson quote. - Piglith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1If any of you BASHERS would have watched the SoU. You would have seen that most if not all of the opposing parties (topics) were reading the SoU outline that was handed out. At the end of the SoU what you didn't see everyone with one in their had? Many were getting Bush's autograph (more then likely just to get a photo of a handshake or that they were getting autograph). If I'm not mistakin this was the first time that an agenda booklet has ever been put out in an SoU, but I could be wrong. Its the first time I've noticed it.
All this "Current Administration" bashing makes me want to vote Republican just because of all the ***** talk. Same ***** different election. Keeping it up, I would predict many will vote this way.- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I already watched one long speech yesterday, why would I listen to a rant form some idiot?
- xSEED, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0anyone still gives a ***** what he says?
- WhereAmI, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Who? You? No. I do not give a ***** what you say.
- dude187, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ah the power of sleazy deceptive "journalism"
Trick No. 1: You can say anything as long as you put a question mark after it. - beerunifies, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://adsoftheworld.com/media/print/nintendo_ds_communion_day?size=_original
