Regardless of alleged leftist bias in the news, there is a stupidity bias in the news. Even Fox News does big reports about Oprah, Britney Spears, one dead woman in Aruba, one alleged rape victim in the Carolinas, etc.
I'm so silly I wish news covered things that were important, and tried to portray what is true. Which is why I stopped watching TV news a decade or two ago. I'll tune in occasionally to get the headlines, but I have sift through the various networks and 24-hour news channels, sifting past newspeople DISCUSSING the news among themselves, instead of just reporting it. Who knows how many viewers think the content of these "discussions" is the TRUTH.

He isn't some newbie and he wasn't ambushed in an interview. His comments weren't spliced and taken out of context. He knew what he was saying. His words speak loudly as to his feelings. Disgusting. He should be fired by NBC after he apologizes on air. Write NBC and tell them what you think.

The best anyone can say is it was a Freudian slip. The worst is he doesn't even have the conviction of his beliefs to stand by his own statement. Rush Limbaugh stands behind what he says. He is comparing terrorists to first responders, navy seals, firefighters, what have you-- but not for the sake of making them appear similiar, but to show the immense contrast between how they gave up their lives. The terrorists, Brian Williams argues, gave their lives to destroy something. The 'heroes' did it out of selflessness to protect the same thing the terrorists were trying to destroy.

He's not calling them terrorists, he's saying they gave their lives to guard what others would try to destroy.
